As part of the IIC Calendar of Events, MET Institute of Management conducted an insightful session on “Angel Investment and VC Funding Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs”, led by Mr. Rajesh Ranjan, Founder of O2 Angel Network.

Mr. Ranjan offered a comprehensive overview of the startup funding lifecycle, from pre-seed to Series A and explained the roles of angel investors, venture capitalists, accelerators, and Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). He also shared success stories of startups like Janitri, Kluisz.ai, and Unibose Tech, providing students with real-world context.

Joining him for the interactive Q&A session was Mr. Manish Johari, who shared practical advice and tips for early-stage entrepreneurs.

The session empowered students with actionable insights on navigating the funding landscape and concluded with a powerful message: “Start small, think big, and be investor-ready from Day 1.”

On 26th April 2025, MET Institute of Management had the distinct honor of hosting the Silver Jubilee Reunion for MMS Batch of 1998-2000. Marking 25 years since their graduation, the alumni returned to their alma mater to celebrate their enduring bond with the institution. The evening was filled with reflection, reconnection, and celebration. Alumni reunited with batchmates and faculty, fondly recalling memories of academic pursuits, campus life, and lasting friendships.

A special highlight was the visit to their former classrooms, where walking through the familiar corridors evoked deep nostalgia and pride in how far they had journeyed since their MET days.

The evening concluded with heartfelt speeches, sharing of success stories, and expressions of gratitude. The reunion not only celebrated past achievements but also reaffirmed the strong ties between the alumni and their alma mater.

MET Institute of Management proudly hosted the Inter/Intra Institutional Startup Competition, as part of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Calendar Activity, the competition brought together 7 dynamic teams from Batch 2024-26, each presenting innovative business ideas that showcased their entrepreneurial spirit, problem-solving skills, and creativity.

The event was graced by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, who encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship as a transformative tool for success. Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean-Academics, MET IOM, highlighted the institute’s commitment to fostering a thriving startup ecosystem.

A distinguished panel of industry experts, including Mr. Anish Maheshwari (Founder, Vsure Investment Affairs), Mr. Manav Sarin (Founder & CEO, MD Consulting), and Ms. Shagufta Merchant (Head SME Strategy, ClearClick Digital), provided invaluable insights to help participants refine their business strategies and navigate challenges.

As part of this forum, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) invited two accomplished women entrepreneurs - Ms. Aparna Acharekar, Co-founder of coto & Ms. Aparna Krishnan, Co-founder and CEO, Durva Life, who have made significant contributions in the field of health and wellness to conduct the IIC Self-Driven Activity and interact with students.

Ms. Acharekar, shared insights on building purpose-driven digital communities. She spoke about her journey in creating a platform that offers a safe and trusted space for individuals to connect, collaborate, and engage in conversations across diverse interest areas. Through coto, she aims to empower community-led interactions that promote personal and professional growth. Her address emphasized the growing importance of digital ecosystems that foster meaningful engagement, learning, and mutual support.

Ms. Krishnan, highlighted the importance of addressing health and wellness through innovative and sustainable solutions. She discussed her entrepreneurial journey and the mission of Durva Life in offering preventive healthcare options by combining the wisdom of Ayurveda with modern science. Mr. Prabhu shared his entrepreneurial journey, discussing the challenges and strategies involved in building a startup, identifying customer pain points, and ensuring product-market alignment. He emphasized the importance of understanding the right problem, developing a viable solution, and aligning it with market demand to ensure business success.

Students from MMS 2024-26 — Mr. Atharva Jante, Ms. Khushi Awasthi, Ms. Poorva Kude, and Ms. Tanmayi Patil presented on the theme ‘Bharatiya Nari 2024’.

Their presentation traced the journey of women leaders from the time of India’s freedom struggle to the present day. They highlighted the significant roles women have played in shaping the nation’s political landscape, driving economic growth, and contributing to the business world. Through carefully selected examples, the students showcased how women have taken on leadership roles, overcome challenges, and contributed meaningfully to the country\'s development. The presentation was well-researched and provided a balanced view of the evolving role of women in India’s progress.

MET Institute of Management inaugurated the Women Leadership Forum 2025 in the presence of Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management; Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean - Academics, MET Institute of Management; and distinguished guests - Mr. Saugata Bagchi, Global Head - Digital, Content, Experiential & MarTech, Tata Communications; Ms. Udita Shroff, Regional Head of Marketing - South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, Cathay Pacific; Ms. Karishma Raghuvanshi, Head of Talent Acquisition, Sahara Star; Ms. Roma Balwani, Co-Founder, Roma Balwani Foundation; Ms. Manmeet Chadha, Owner, Chirag Carriers, with the lighting of the lamp on 21st March 2025.

The event began with the inaugural address by Dr. Swati Lodha, where she spoke about the need to move towards a gender-agnostic world rather than merely focusing on gender parity. She encouraged the audience to foster an environment where opportunities and success are driven by merit and values rather than gender distinctions.

The Women Leadership Forum 2025, featured a panel discussion on the topic ‘Leadership - Crossing Divides’. The discussion focused on how leadership today involves bridging gaps across gender, industries, generations, and mindsets. It emphasized the importance of adaptability, inclusion, continuous learning, and the courage to challenge barriers in personal and professional spheres. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management.

The panel featured distinguished leaders who shared their experiences and insights. Mr. Saugata Bagchi, Global Head - Digital, Content, Experiential & MarTech, Tata Communications, spoke about the importance of dreaming big and committing to one’s vision with consistency and resilience. Ms. Udita Shroff (MET IOM Alumni, MMS 2008-10), Regional Head of Marketing - South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, Cathay Pacific, shared her inspiring journey as the first in her family to enter the corporate world, encouraging everyone that you can do it, whatever you try. She credited MET Institute of Management, her alma mater, for shaping her career. Ms. Karishma Raghuvanshi, Head Talent Acquisition, Sahara Star, emphasized the need to stay humble, keep learning, and embrace diverse experiences. Ms. Roma Balwani, Co-Founder, Roma Balwani Foundation, stressed the value of learning, unlearning, and relearning to adapt to changing environments. Ms. Manmeet Chadha, Owner, Chirag Carriers, shared her journey of building a transportation and logistics business from just two trucks to a comprehensive logistics and warehousing solutions company.

The discussion covered key themes such as women in leadership, entrepreneurship, confidence, attitude, happiness, dedication, and the evolving upbringing of women.
