The event featured alumni, Mr. Sherwin Mascarenhas, Ms. Nisha Chauhan, Mr. Moin Ansari, Ms. Ashwini Jadhav, and Mr. Pratik Ahire, who shared their professional journeys, challenges faced, and the strategies that contributed to their success.
Mr. Sherwin Mascarenhas, representing Hindustan Pencils, provided insights into the dynamic realm of international business, highlighting both the triumphs and setbacks encountered throughout his career. Ms. Nisha Chauhan, from Inorbit Malls, elaborated on the intricacies of managing Pan India operations and executing comprehensive 360-degree marketing strategies to drive business growth.
Mr. Moin Ansari, from Beyond Snack, delved into the significance of branding, packaging, and product positioning, emphasizing their role in building consumer trust and loyalty. Complementing this, Ms. Ashwini Jadhav from ITC shared valuable perspectives on sales execution and the strategic approaches essential for thriving in a competitive market environment.
Mr. Pratik Ahire, representing Howden Insurance Brokers Limited, demystified the complex domain of reinsurance and risk management, illustrating how financial mechanisms play a pivotal role in shaping industries.

Matribhasha Diwas Celebration

Language is the essence of identity, culture, and unity. On this Matribhasha Diwas, we honor the richness of linguistic diversity and the beauty of our mother tongues. Embracing our roots, respecting differences, and promoting inclusivity are vital steps toward building a harmonious world.
At MET Institute of Management, the celebration of linguistic heritage extends beyond this day, with various events and activities conducted throughout the year to foster an appreciation for cultural diversity. As part of Matribhasha Diwas celebrated on February 21,2025, faculty members introduced students to the diverse mother languages spoken within the institution, creating a platform for cross-cultural exchange. A “Match the Terms†activity explored 25 management terms in Hindi, enhancing students\' understanding of professional vocabulary in their native language. The day also featured a thrilling quiz competition conducted in Hindi, testing participants’ knowledge and linguistic skills.
Additionally, the “Shudh Bhasha Competition†organized during MET Utsav 2025 on Indian Sanskruti encouraged faculty members to showcase the purity and proficiency of their respective mother tongues, promoting linguistic pride.
As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement, MET Institute of Management also organized a powerful street play performed by students in Hindi. Conducted in collaboration with the BMC, the play aimed to raise awareness on social issues, reflecting the institution’s dedication to creating socially responsible citizens.
Through these initiatives, MET Institute of Management continues to preserve and promote linguistic and cultural heritage while fostering a sense of social responsibility among its students.
Project Mokhada

MET Institute of Management, Mumbai, was part of the completion of the student collaborative initiative that welcomed Mr. Kobbi Shoshani, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai, along with consular staff and a delegation of students from Tel Aviv University, to Mokhada on February 18, 2025. The visit, aimed at fostering grassroots entrepreneurship and rural development, commenced with a vibrant cultural performance, warmly welcoming the esteemed guests to the GPM MASK Centre.
A key milestone of the event was the inauguration of \"The Production Centre of Sundar India Soap Bar,\" marking a significant step in empowering the local community through sustainable economic opportunities. The event featured a market research-driven presentation on Sundar India Soap, showcasing strategic insights on product positioning, branding, and industry trends. This student-led consulting initiative was guided by the mentorship of Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management, and Dr. Uday Salunkhe, Group Director, WeSchool, alongside faculty members Dr. Manmeet Barve and Mr. Rohit Mohite from MET IOM, and Dr. Rachna Patil and Dr. Vandana Panwar from WeSchool. Our students - Abhishek Yadav, Sharvari Desai, Arin Patil, Akshat Choudhary, and Yash Parmar - collaborated with WeSchool students to present in-depth industry analysis, product prototyping, and positioning strategies.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening Indo-Israeli cooperation in sustainable development, education, and rural entrepreneurship, reinforcing MET IOM’s commitment to impactful, real-world learning experiences.

India\'s Premier - Finance Quiz (Mumbai Edition)

MET Institute of Management, in partnership with Zerodha Varsity, proudly participated in India\'s Premier - Finance Quiz (Mumbai Edition) on 12th February 2025. The event featured a Preliminary Round, where participants were tested on key financial concepts, economic trends, and market strategies. The competition was intense, and the learning experience was truly enriching.

MET CET Hosts 5-Day Faculty Development Programme

MET CET commenced its enriching five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) with the ceremonial lamp lighting led by Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative. The initiative brought together expert speakers and faculty members for a series of impactful sessions focused on progressive teaching methodologies.
Day 1 featured Dr. Chitra Wadke who led a session on Flipped Classroom, introducing student-centric methods to promote active participation and engagement in the learning process.
Day 2 was conducted by Ms. Armaity Kelawalla, who delivered an insightful session on Facilitating Neuro-Inclusive Education through Sensitization and Mentoring. A professional social worker, special educator, arts-based therapist, soft skills trainer, and life coach, she currently serves as a Fieldwork Supervisor at TISS, Mumbai.
Day 3 featured Ms. Sulakshana Rathod who conducted a session on implementing cooperative learning strategies. As Senior Manager at Emeritus, she designs and delivers learning journeys for mid to senior-level professionals across corporate and government sectors, focusing on leadership and transformation.
The ongoing FDP reflects MET\'s commitment to fostering academic excellence and equipping educators with future-ready teaching tools.
76th Republic Day @ MET

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) proudly celebrated the 76th Indian Republic Day with a grand event that highlighted the spirit of patriotism and unity. The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolor by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, in the presence of Directors, Principals, and esteemed Heads of Institutes and Departments.
The vibrant festivities featured captivating performances by MET and MRV students and staff, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The day was marked by patriotic speeches, melodious songs, and mesmerizing dance performances, creating an atmosphere of pride and joy.
BMC & MET IOM Cleanup Drive

On January 24, 2025, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) B-Ward, in collaboration with MET Institute of Management’s Sustainability Club, organized a Deep Cleaning Initiative at Sandhurst Road and surrounding areas. Aimed at promoting cleanliness, sustainable waste management, and active community participation, the initiative saw the involvement of over 50 MET students and 100 BMC personnel. Equipped with advanced machinery such as high-pressure water jets, garbage compactors, and mechanical sweeping machines, the collaborative effort revitalized public spaces and fostered environmental awareness.
The event featured a poster rally from Sandhurst Road to Sitaram Shenoy Garden, spreading messages on sustainability and cleanliness. MET students performed impactful street plays on topics like ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR)’ and ‘Air Pollution’ to highlight waste reduction and pollution control measures. The team also undertook deep cleaning activities, road washing, and a tree plantation drive, reinforcing efforts toward environmental conservation and sustainability.
The initiative was led by MET IOM faculty members Dr. Nirmal Joshi, Ms. Dharmishta Gala, Mr. Sandesh Akre, and Ms. Arzoo Jaiswal, with significant support from senior BMC officials, including Mr. Nikhil Kirtane (AE-SWM), Mr. Kiran Awad (SE-SWM), Mr. Santosh Sawant (AHS-SWM), Mr. Raju Bulbule (Sup-SWM), Mr. Ashish Puradkar (Asst. ND-SWM), and Mr. Kishor Gohil (Asst. ND-SWM). Their leadership and coordination ensured the success of this initiative, marking a meaningful step toward a cleaner and greener Mumbai.
Celebration of National Youth Day 2025

As part of the IIC Celebration of National Youth Day, MET Institute of Management hosted a session on Entrepreneurship and Innovation for students from Western College of Commerce and Business Management.
The session included a guided tour of MET IOM’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and incubation facilities, led by faculty members Dr. Manmeet Barve, Vice President, MET IOM IIC, Dr. Farida Virani, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Prof. Shailesh Sargade, Convenor, MET IOM IIC where the students learnt about ideation and associated processes.
A key aspect of the session was the exchange of ideas, where MET IOM students shared their innovative business concepts, fostering meaningful discussions and collaborative learning.

19th Nani A. Palkhiwala Memorial Lecture

The students of MET Institute of Management had the exceptional opportunity to attend the prestigious 19th Nani A. Palkhiwala Memorial Lecture on the theme \"India and the World\". Delivered by Dr. S. Jaishankar, the Honorable Minister of External Affairs of India, the lecture provided profound insights into India’s evolving role in global affairs. The theme explored India’s strategic partnerships, economic advancements, and its vision for a sustainable and inclusive future in the international arena.
The session was an enlightening and thought-provoking experience for the students, broadening their understanding of international relations and emphasizing the critical importance of informed and visionary leadership in shaping a better world. Dr. Jaishankar highlighted India\'s emergence as a significant player in shaping the global agenda, reflecting its growing influence in international affairs. He elaborated on India’s efforts to deepen relationships with major global powers while fostering robust partnerships in developing regions.

Medical Camp at Bhoirwadi

On 12th January 2025, MET Institute of Management’s Sustainability Club, in collaboration with Lions Club and Mauli Foundation, under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative, organized a medical camp at Bhoirwadi to provide accessible healthcare for all. The camp offered free services, including dental check-ups, general health screenings, eye examinations, and blood tests. Additionally, the medical professionals provided personalized consultations and guidance on maintaining overall health and well-being, ensuring that residents received comprehensive care beyond basic diagnostics.
This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of dedicated medical professionals, enthusiastic MET students, committed volunteers, and the warm support of the Bhoirwadi community, along with the partnership of the Lions Club and Mauli Foundation. Together, the event made a meaningful impact, addressing healthcare needs and fostering awareness, contributing to the vision of a healthier, more sustainable, and inclusive future for rural India.
Association of Coaches

MET Institute of Management hosted the Association of Coaches (AOC) for an event featuring a panel discussion on Mental Health, followed by the AOC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The panel brought together coaches and experts who shared perspectives and strategies on resilience, self-awareness, and well-being in personal and professional contexts. The session focused on approaches to mental health and encouraged dialogue within the coaching community.
The AGM that followed reiterated AOC’s mission to advance the practice of coaching, strengthen professional networks, and promote collective growth. Established in 2012 as the Association of Mumbai Coaches, AOC has now grown into a community of over 100 practising and aspiring coaches.
This collaboration with AOC reflects MET IOM’s commitment to supporting learning, development, and well-being. The event provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, highlighting the role of coaching in personal and organizational development.
