Marking the freedom and glory of the nation, Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with immense patriotic zeal and enthusiasm.

The celebration commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET, Chief guest Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retd D.G.P (Maharashtra state), MET students, faculty, and staff where the unfurling of the National Flag was followed by the National Anthem.

MET Rishikul Vidyalaya students had their spirits high and exhibited musical skits, patriotic songs and speeches to honour the countless sacrifices of the freedom fighters, soldiers and heroes who fought for our country’s freedom. As every year, the MET Bhushan Awards were given to members of the MET family for their fifteen years of service and commitment towards their work. This was followed by the inauguration of ‘MET INSIGHTS’ - a special learning initiative by MET Institute of Management which aims to enhance the learning, receptivity and interaction with students. Guest speaker Mr. Amrut Deshmukh - CA, Founder of Booklet App, TEDx speaker & Social Entrepreneur addressed the MET IOM students on this occasion.

It’s a moment of pride to state that a book - \'BRAND WARS: Combat Strategies for Indian Brands\', authored by Dr. Rajiv Gupte, Faculty – MET Institute of Management, co-authored with Mr Anand Limaye, visiting faculty, MET AMDC was recently launched at a high profile event.

It was held at Indian Merchant Chambers on 30th September, 2021 in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadanavis, Former CM of Maharashtra, Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director & CEO – BSE India and Chancellor of University of Allahabad, Shri Anil C Singh, Additional Solicitor General of India and Justice Shri Suresh Gupte (retd), Bombay High Court.

The International Yoga Day was celebrated online on 21st June, 2021 with great enthusiasm by MET Institute of Management on behalf of MET League of Colleges. IOP & ICS also joined the celebrations.

Acharya Sharda Bubnaji a yoga expert who has been practicing for more 2 & 1/2 decades was the chief guest on the occasion. She was accompanied by her two trainers Ms. Tripti Vaidya and Ms. Sangeeta Khanna who demonstrated the various asanas. This was followed by pranayama. The session was well attended by MET students, faculty and staff members. It was a very interesting and informative session.

For the first time in the history of MET International Women\'s Day was celebrated online by the Institute of Management on 8th March 2021. The entire program was organized by the first year MMS students who have not met their class mates in person till now.

The chief guest at the event was Mrs. Shrushti Deshmukh, Vice President Operations-Accenture. She shared the journey of her life in making this career. she shared her difficulties and challenges that she faced as a woman and showed how education was the main asset that brought her success. Her story was very inspiring with shades of goal setting, dreams, hard work, perseverance and sense of achievement.

Director General Vijay Page complimented womanhood. He appreciated the roles played by them in every aspects of life and stated that they are the procreators of earth and thereby shall inherit it. Deputy Director Dr. Sangeeta Tandon spoke of Shivshakti as a holistic existence and gave her message to all the girls to be courageous, know their rights, understand financials and maintain work life balance by being sincere but not too serious in life.

Both girl and boy students sang songs, performed dances in the glory of womanhood, identifying various roles of a mother, sister, beloved and friend. One of the students who is also a nutritionist Ms. Disha Jain spoke on healthy well-being. Dr. Nitin Kulkarni complimented the students for putting up such a wonderful show. The entire event was attended by 165 students with the assistance of MET google platform provided Mr. Yuvraj.

The Launchpad “Aarohan” 2020-22 was organized online this year. It was a three day long program from 8th February 2021 upto 10th February 2021. Deputy Director Dr. Sangeeta Tandon welcomed the new batch of MMS 2020-22 comprising of 195 students this year. Our Trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal greeted the new batch reminding them of lessons learnt from the Pandemic. Director General Dr. Vijay Page addressed the gathering with his inaugural remarks and introduced all the faculty members and staff.

Our Chief Guest Mr. Rakesh Kaul CEO & Whole Time Director, Somany Home Innovation Limited (SHIL) & MD Hindware gave his inaugural speech from Delhi. He shared his life experiences and journey from grass-roots to towering heights.

On the 2nd day Business Leader and Entrepreneur Mr. Kedar Deshpande spoke on Leadership in a very lucid manner he decoded the algorithm of leadership as IMAGE, Innovation, Mastery, Authenticity, Guts and Ethics and followed by our Alumni Mr. Kalpak Sarangdhar currently working in U.S. Philadelphia as Director of Business Analytics at Continuum Health emphasized on fundamental domain knowledge and leveraging on that in future.

On the 3rd day our alumni Ms. Rajshree Gadgil, Celebrity Nutrition Expert- Founder & CEO of RSG Nutrition & Healthcare Pvt. Ltd, RUWELLTH Integrative Healthcare LLP spoke about the importance of mental and physical health. The last session was taken by our alumni Gautam Gulati, CEO- Screenox who keenly shared his career building experiences and mentioned how MET had given him the right platform. He encouraged students to believe in themselves and to take bold decisions.

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated on January 26, 2021 at MET to honour the day on which the Constitution of India came into effect. The event began with unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee – MET in presence of MET Directors, Principals, HODs, faculty, and staff. MET echoed with patriotic fervour as MRV students and faculty presented an instrumental performance, a patriotic song rendition and speech to mark the occasion.

The highlight of the event was the ‘I Live Simply’ initiative by MRV, wherein MET family pledged to plant more saplings and take up composting and biodegradation of waste on Institute’s premises.

MET celebrated India\'s 74^th Independence Day while maintaining social-distancing protocol. The celebration was filled with patriotic spirit, honouring the countless sacrifices of the nation\'s brave hearts who laid down their lives for the freedom of our country. The ceremony constituted unfurling of Tricolor, followed by singing of national anthem, and an Independence Day address by Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET.

The Republic Day is celebrated in the honour of the day when India\'s Constitution was signed and India was declared a republic on 26th January, 1950. MET and MRV celebrated the day with patriotic fervour, hoisting the Tricolour and singing the National Anthem. Hon. Trustee Pankaj Bhujbal and Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management addressed the students on the occasion in the presence of MET Directors, Principals, HODs, faculty, staff, students and parents.

As an ode to the spirit of India, MRV Dance Club presented a unique act of Unity through their beautiful rendition of contemporary, semi-classical and hip-hop fusion. The Tricolour coded dancers brought out the sense of integrity in India’s diversity with their power packed performance on the Republic Day. METizens multiplied the spirit of the celebrations by presenting songs about the pride of India.

With a desire to make young minds move towards a more inclusive society, sans discrimination, Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, an expert on Gender Issues, delivered a talk to students of MET’s Institute of Pharmacy on 10^th April, 2019, making them aware about how they need to be gender sensitive, in their day to day interaction with their peers and faculty members. Dr. Shirodkar also offered useful tips to students, on what they need to follow, if they face discrimination and educated them about the various authorities they could approach at such times.

MMS students joined hands with the Roti Bank organization initiated by Former D.G. Police, Maharashtra Mr. Sivanandan. They offered voluntary support at four locations of Mumbai at Worli, Mahim, Bandra and Kandivali in the groups of 10 -12 students and distributed food packets to hundreds of underprivileged school students.

This was a part of the Roti Bank campaign to achieve record food distribution for 75,000 poor students on the World Food Day on 16^th October, 2019

MMS students from MET Institute of Manangement got an opportunity to be a part of the Asian Centre team for the 6th Asian Business Responsibility Summit held on 25^th September 2019 at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. The event saw dignitaries from across the globe who came together to address the importance of stewardship as a new narrative for business responsibility. Mr. Mervyn King (Former Judge, Supreme Court of South Africa and Chairman Emeritus, IIRC, UK), Mr. Kenichi IDE (First Secretary and Finance Attaché, Embassy of Japan in India) and Mr. Mahendra Chouhan (Chairman, Mahendra & Young Knowledge Foundation) were the keynote speakers. The event was covered by CNBC.

MET Institute of Management hosted the All India Management Association (AIMA\'s) Western Regional Round of 45^th National Competition for Young Managers (NCYM) as its Academic Partner and venue host. The event was held at the MET Convention Hall on 8^th & 9^th August, 2019. The inauguration began with an address by Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET IOM and Mr. Neeraj Kapoor, Director - AIMA, who especially flew down from Delhi for the event.

The esteemed jury comprised of Mr. Vidyadhar Prabhudesai - Co-Founder and Board of Director - Leadcap Knowledge Solutions Pvt Ltd., Mr Avinash Jhangiani, CEO - Play2Transform and Mr. Vivek Trivedi, Head (Talent Acquisition) - JSW Global Business Solutions Ltd.

There were teams from leading companies like Bosch Ltd., Tata Motors, Yes Bank Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., GAIL Ltd., Spicer India Pvt. Ltd. presented their corporate programs and strategies on the theme \"Smart Organization: Innovative, Capable, Competitive\".

The winning team comprised of Mr. Maunil Sheth, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Jenil Mehta from KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd and the runner-up trophy was awarded to Mr. Vasudeva Reddy, Mr. Nikit Soni and Mr. Akhil Garg from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The awards were presented by Mr. Neeraj Kapoor, Director - AIMA and Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Deputy Director - MET IOM and the jury members.
