On December 9, students from MMS 2024-26 at MET Institute of Management actively participated in the International Anti-Corruption Day 2024 Call to Action held at the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Churchgate. The event, aligned with the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focused on the critical themes of transparency, accountability, and ethical governance, providing a platform to explore strategies for combating corruption and fostering integrity across sectors.

The event featured an esteemed panel of speakers, including Dr. Pradnya Saravade, (Retd. IPS), Independent Director and Former Director General of Police. Mr. Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), Ms. Bhuvana Santhana, Director, Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, Dr. Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman & CEO, AQUAKRAFT Pvt Ltd. & Member Governing Council, UN GCNI, Mr. Suhas Tuljapulkar, Founder Director, Legasis Pvt Ltd, Dr. Suruchi Desai, Mr. Vikas Gupta, General Counsel & Compliance Head, Actylis (Aceto Pharma) and many more. MET IOM’s IIC organised IIC Calendar Event ‘Presentation of Business Plan and Demo Day - Linkage Experts for Mentorship Support’ under the guidance of Mr. Shailesh Sargade, Startup Coordinator, MET IOM and Ms. Smedha Sarkar, Expert Member, MET IOM IIC on April 8th, 2024 for the MMS Batch 2023-25.

The student in teams presented their business ideas to the esteemed industry experts and mentors present at the event - Mr. Bhushan Lawande, Head of Skill Department, Maharashtra, Mr. Pradeep Malu, NITI Aayog, Startup and Business Mentor, Mr. Sundeep Narwani, Startup Mentor & Community Organizer and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Convenor, MET IOM IIC.

The teams received insightful suggestions and feedback from the experts on the further development and execution of the business plan presented.

Dr. Swati Lodha, Director of MET Institute of Management, conducted a three-days Management Development Program (MDP) on Leadership & Growth for the management team at 88 Pictures from 21st - 23rd October 2024.

Day 1 explored various leadership types and the importance of authentic leadership, encouraging participants to reflect on their leadership styles and align them with their organizational goals.

Day 2 involved interactive case studies, helping participants understand the nuances of decision-making under pressure, conflict resolution, communication, and organizational culture.

On Day 3, the focus shifted to achieving 360-degree excellence, with an emphasis on holistic development in personal, professional, and organizational growth.

Dr. Lodha provided actionable strategies to enhance leadership effectiveness and drive sustainable success within teams. This comprehensive program equipped leaders at all levels with valuable insights and practical tools to navigate today’s dynamic business challenges.

At the conclusion of the program, participants received a joint certification from MET Institute of Management and 88 Pictures, acknowledging their commitment to leadership growth and development.

We are thrilled to share that MET Institute has successfully hosted an inspiring and enlightening IT Colloquium on 6th July 2024. The event brought together industry experts, academicians, and students to explore the latest trends and advancements in the field of Information Technology.

The event commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge for an enlightening and fruitful day. Welcome address by our honourable trustee Shri Pankaj Bhujbal Sir emphasized the importance of staying abreast of technological advancements and to leverage such platforms for continuous learning and innovation. The theme of the colloquium was set by Dr. Abhijit Banubakode - Principal ICS at MET Institute.

We were honored to have Ms. Reshma Qureshi - Head, Digital Enablement (Ideation to Revenue Value Chain) at TCS as Keynote Speaker who shared their invaluable insights on IT transitions and Evolution.

Next was the panel discussion with the theme \"Evolving trends and Expectations in the IT Industry\", The panelists, Mr. Davinder Singh - Chief Placement Officer CDAC Mumbai Region, Prof. Omprakash Mandge - Course Coordinator at MET ics and MET ISDR, Mr. Krupesh Parmar - Intelliza Solutions, Dr. Ashish Hanttangadi - Professor at Alkesh Dinesh Mody College, Mr. Dixson Almeida - Consultant at Securetech Solutions, Dr. Seema Purohit - Professor Emeritus at B.K. Birla College and Mr. Pankaj Tayade - Leader at IIBA provided diverse viewpoints and sparked meaningful conversations.

The event was also graced by Dr Neil Sequeira for an interactive session for all our industry delegates on Happiness Psychology. He made a significant contribution to help us understand how psychological principles can be applied to enhance our daily lives.

This was followed by Vote of thanks by very own Dr. Jyotsna Munshi - Deputy Director Corporate Relations Department.

This colloquium has reinforced our commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment. We look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue nurturing the IT talent and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

MET College Campus Lions Club recently took part in a heartwarming charitable initiative, organised by the Lions Club of Vidyavihar at SK Somaiya Vinay Mandir Vidyalaya. In collaboration with Lions Club President Mr. Nupen Gandhi, fellow members, and MET Institute of Management students, distributed essential supplies like drawing books, uniforms, tiffin boxes, and stationery to over 90 underprivileged children.

To add a fun twist, a general knowledge quiz was held, rewarding enthusiastic student participation and fostering a lively learning environment. In a thoughtful gesture, the school presented Tulsi plants to the MET IOM students as a symbol of love and gratitude. This initiative offered a meaningful opportunity for MET students to make a positive impact on the community.

MET Institute of Management welcomed the MMS Batch 2024-26 with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony graced by Mr. Anand Rathi, Founder & Chairman of Anand Rathi Group, Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET and Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, alongside faculty and students.

The 15-day induction program, Aarohan - Launchpad 2024, was designed to give students a holistic orientation, preparing them to become future-ready managers - globally relevant, socially responsible, and emotionally intelligent.

The institute proudly welcomed the MMS Batch 2024-26 during the Aarohan Launchpad 2024, with insightful words from Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET and Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM.

Mr. Bhujbal compared the students’ journey to light passing through a prism, discovering hidden talents and inspiring them to cultivate their strengths for both personal and professional excellence.

Dr. Lodha highlighted the importance of consistency and showing up, urging students to embrace a fresh approach to learning - blending fun with education for a lasting impact. She encouraged them to nurture a corporate-ready, entrepreneurial mindset for future success.

Mr. Anand Rathi, Founder & Chairman of Anand Rathi Group shared his inspiring journey. From leading UltraTech Cement at 35 to building a PAN-India financial empire, Mr. Rathi spoke on the importance of hard work, blending IQ with EQ, and adopting a philosophy of continuous learning. He emphasised the 1% aspiration, 99% perspiration rule for success and the need for constant innovation. His parting advice? Always aim for progress that’s faster, better, and cheaper.

Ms. Neetu Kashiramka, MD of VIP Industries Ltd., inspired the newly inducted students by sharing her personal and professional journey. She emphasised the value of embracing failure and learning from setbacks, with examples of Bill Gates, Thomas Edison, Aman Gupta, and Piyush Bansal.

Ms. Kashiramka highlighted the importance of hard work and carving your own path, reflecting on her own career journey from Kewal Kiran Clothing Ltd. to becoming MD at VIP Industries. She encouraged students to challenge the status quo, embrace multitasking, and never stop learning, urging them to dream big and stay determined. Her words resonated with future leaders, leaving them with valuable lessons for their own professional growth.

On Day 2 of Aarohan – Launchpad 2024, MET IOM had the privilege of hosting Mr. Biswaroop Mukherjee, Head HR - Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, who shared invaluable insights with the newly inducted MMS 2024-26 batch. Drawing from over two decades of HR experience, he encouraged students to craft their own unique paths to success, emphasizing the importance of adaptability in a rapidly changing world. Mr. Mukherjee highlighted key disruptive forces such as digital transformation and sustainability, urging students to develop both specialized expertise and a broad skill set. His mantra? “Be Curious. Learn. Apply.” A powerful reminder for future leaders to embrace lifelong learning and passion-driven growth.

Ms. Shraddha Joshi Sharma, Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and IRS Officer, had an inspiring session. Ms. Sharma, whose life story, along with her husband Mr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, IPS (Batch 2005), inspired the critically acclaimed movie ‘12th Fail’, shared profound insights on personal and professional growth. She emphasised the importance of finding purpose in one’s journey to success and motivated students to dream without limits. Using personal anecdotes, Ms. Sharma stressed the value of setting clear goals and charting the right path to achieve them. She discussed the concept of ‘Leadership as an Attitude,’ underscoring the significance of owning one’s decisions and turning failures into opportunities. Her powerful message encouraged students to aim higher and dream bigger, instilling a mindset of resilience and leadership.

Day 3 of Aarohan Launchpad featured an insightful multimedia case study session led by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM. The focus was on the iconic November 2008 terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, sparking thought-provoking discussions among students. Dr. Lodha highlighted the complexity of leadership, stressing that multiple perspectives can be valid. A TED Talk on the incident prompted a powerful question: “Out of 600 employees, why didn’t a single one run away?” This led to a deep dive into Tata’s unique corporate culture, their guest-centric approach, and the systems behind their loyalty-driven workforce. The discussion encouraged students to explore whether such unwavering commitment could be replicated in other organizations. A truly inspiring session challenging future leaders to think outside the box and redefine leadership in their own journeys.

The Annual event was planned to help students decode and assimilate the union budget and understand its impact on corporate functioning.

To conduct the session Mr. Dheeraj Bhandari, Direct & Indirect Taxation Expert and Mr. Balachandran S, Investment Advisory Head, Trust Capital were invited.

Mr. Dheeraj Bhandari shed light on the vision encapsulated in the Four Pillars of Viksit Bharat. Delving into the focus areas of the budget and also how the first interim budget, September 1947, was a memorable moment in a nation\'s economic journey. The unveiling of this budget often set the tone for fiscal policies and priorities.

Mr. Balachandran delved into the congruence of Crime Solving and emphasised \"Follow the money trail\" to help understand and decode the budget. He discussed the importance of following government initiatives as one of the decisions that businessmen take while exposing students to the importance of understanding the budget. He discussed the “four castes”- the government\'s focus on the empowerment of four groups-- women, youth, farmers, and the poor as discussed in the budget.

The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Mr. Harjeet Khanduja, Sr. VP-HR at Reliance Jio, Ms. Ankita Rudra, HR and L&D Specialist at Tata Tele Business Services, and Mr. Mangesh Bhide, Sr. VP-Organization Effectiveness at IKS. They unveiled a groundbreaking HR concept game that was enthusiastically received and played by HR professionals.

The conclave then pursued into the future of HR, emphasizing the pivotal intersection of technology and human behavior. Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed speakers, setting the stage for insightful discussions.

Mr. Harjeet Khanduja, a renowned HR leader, highlighted the importance of human behavior in driving progress, while acknowledging the instrumental role of technology. He urged HR professionals to proactively adapt to evolving behaviors, innovative business models, and contemporary approaches to hiring and performance management.

Ms. Ankita Rudra shed light on the concept of Glocal culture, a harmonious blend of global and local HR strategies. She illustrated the increasing influence of AI in shaping communication and business practices worldwide.

Mr. Mangesh Bhide contributed valuable insights by discussing the 3Ps: preparing for change, addressing fears, and overcoming concerns about technology replacing HR roles. He advocated for a balanced perspective, recognizing technology as an enabler that complements, rather than supplants, human contributions in HR.

The HR Conclave 2024 emphasized the necessity for HR professionals to embrace technological advancements while remaining grounded in the core principles of human behavior and adaptability. These insights offer a roadmap for navigating the dynamic landscape of human capital management.

MET IOM\'s HR Conclave 2024 featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on the future of HR. The esteemed panelists, including Mr. Harish Iyer, Sr. VP & Head-DEI, Axis Bank, Mr. Manjul Tilak, CHRO, Piramal Enterprises Limited & Piramal Realty Limited, Ms. Gauri Das, Sr. VP, India Factoring and Finance Solutions, Dr. Farida Virani, Professor of HR, MET IOM, and moderated by Ms. Ankita Rudra, HR and L&D Specialist, Tata Tele Business Services, shared their valuable insights on critical topics.

Mr. Manjul Tilak explained the significance of cultural adaptability in fostering cohesive and inclusive work environments that respect both global and local practices. Ms. Gauri Das focused on optimizing remote work practices to enhance productivity and employee well-being. Mr. Harish Iyer stressed that organizational infrastructure is not the primary barrier to diversity inclusion; rather, it is our assumptions and intentions that play a more significant role.

Dr. Farida Virani emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between academia and corporate life and enhancing student preparedness for the professional world.

MET Institute of Management successfully hosted an interclass Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Poster Making Competition centered on its application in Management. The event, not only showcased the timeless wisdom of ancient Indian traditions but also enquired about its relevant applications in the current management contexts.

Students presented their research based posters and acquired new learnings from the eastern way of management.

We were honored to have a distinguished jury, Mr. Bikash Sahoo, Apprenticeship Advisor, Skills India Foundation, Dr. Sandip Khandekar, Assistant Professor and HOD of Commerce & Accountancy, Vidyalankar School of Information Technology, and Ms. Prutha Bhatt, Co-Founder, Sayujya Yoga.
