**Celebrating Udyamita Diwas: Igniting Entrepreneurial Spirit at MET IOM**

On Udyamita Diwas, in honor of World Entrepreneurship Day, MET Institute of Management, under the aegis of IIC\'s \'Celebration Day Activity\', proudly hosted an Inter-Institutional Startup Competition as part of the IIC Mentor-Mentee Scheme. Twelve dynamic teams from five mentee institutions showcased their innovative ideas, reflecting their entrepreneurial zeal and creativity.

Dr. Swati Lodha, Director of MET IOM, delivered an inspiring address, urging participants to embrace entrepreneurship as a transformative force for positive change. She highlighted the potential to redefine success and leave a lasting impact on society.

A distinguished jury, including Mr. Anish Maheshwari and Mr. Amitt Rathi, Co-Founders of Vsure Investment Affairs, and Ms. Meghna Rao, Entrepreneur at Gulf Packing Industry, provided invaluable insights, guiding participants to refine their business plans, overcome challenges, and craft effective strategies for success.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) hosted an inspiring ‘Summer Guide Meet’ on 27th July 2024, bringing together industry leaders, educators, and students. The event featured engaging student presentations, insightful discussions, and enriching networking opportunities.

The day began with Saraswati Vandana, followed by a welcome address from CA Dr. Das, Director, MET PGDM, and the theme introduction by Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Director, MET AMDC.

Keynote speaker Mr. Ashrin Singh Anand, Director of Corporate Strategy, M&A, and Partnerships at S&P Global and MET IOM alumnus, shared his career insights. Students showcased their innovative summer internship projects, with the best receiving trophies and certificates.

Dr. Harshada Mulay, Associate Professor, MET PGDM opened the forum for guest insights, and Dr. Jyotsna Munshi, Deputy Director, MET Corporate Relations, gave the vote of thanks. A heartfelt appreciation goes to all mentors, faculty, and industry professionals for their invaluable support.

Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET Institute of Management, was invited to speak at the 75th Platinum Anniversary of the Bombay Goods and Transport Authority held at the CIDCO Exhibition and Convention Centre, Navi Mumbai.

The event themed \"Driving Change: Fostering Efficiency, Sustainability, and Inclusivity in Road Transport,\" Dr. Virani\'s address delved into key areas crucial to the industry\'s future. Her insights encompassed the adoption of innovative technologies and the critical role of youth and women\'s participation in shaping the sector\'s trajectory. Her discourse on \"Leading with Emotional Intelligence\" emphasised on the vital role of emotional intelligence in driving transformative change and cultivating a more inclusive and effective transport industry.

MET Institute of Management successfully hosted a National Level Marketing Quiz Competition on 28th September 2024, drawing participation from top institutions across India. The event showcased the brightest marketing talent as teams competed in a series of challenging rounds.

The competition kicked off with a multiple-choice round where 9 teams faced off in a rapid-fire quiz, testing their marketing knowledge. After an intense battle, 6 teams advanced. The next round featured brand identification through logos, mascots, and taglines, further narrowing the field to 4 teams.

The third round, ‘The Riddle Relay,’ saw teams racing against time to solve brand-related riddles, with only the top performers securing a spot in the final stages. The semi-final, ‘Battle of the Beast,’ tested participants on identifying brand abbreviations and industry personalities based on flashed images.

In the grand finale, ‘Ad Mad Mashup,’ teams showcased their creativity by identifying brands from ads and jingles. After a fierce contest, Mr. Madhur Tike and Ms. Gauri Patil from Welingkar Institute, Mumbai, claimed the first prize. Ms. Ankita Saxena and Mr. Aashutosh Varakhedkar from Masters Union, Gurgaon, secured second place, while Mr. Yash Parte and Mr. Yash Desai from Symbiosis Centre for Management & HR Development, Pune, finished in third.

It was a day of high energy and brilliant competition, celebrating the best of marketing talent!

MET Institute of Management in collaboration with Society of Design Thinking Professional (STDP) conducted a 5 days Capacity Building Program \"How to use Design Thinking for Teaching Learning Processes\" for the school teachers at Rahul International School from April 25 to 30, 2024.

A diverse panel of educators, experts, and professionals facilitated the sessions across the 5 days MDP, including Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Dr. Manmeet Barve, Associate Professor, MET IOM, Dr. Vinay Prabhu, Expert Psychologist, Dr. Jimmy Jain, Founder & CEO, Society of Design Thinking Professional, Dr. Chitra Wadke, Head, MET CET, Ms. Zoya Natterwala, Prototyping Expert, SDTP, and MET IOM Team - Mr. Sandesh Akre, Dr. Rohini Andhare, Ms. Dharmishtha Gala & Ms. Ria Patnaik.

The MDP focused on helping the teachers understand and take the concept of Design Thinking into their classroom to make classes more learner centric.

Through the various tools and techniques of design thinking such as creation of empathy maps, design briefs, rubrics creation, divergent and convergent thinking, the teachers created unique solutions that could be used in the classrooms across various subjects.

The participants enjoyed the five-day program, found it meaningful and provided a positive feedback to the facilitators while thanking the management, Mr. Yigal S. Banker, Principal, Rahul International School and Ms. Joyce Britto, Vice-Principal, Rahul International School for organizing the capacity building program.

MET IOM\'s IIC organized a calendar event, the \"Intra-Institutional Hackathon,\" on September 16, 2024. Students of MMS 2024-26 Batch actively participated in the 8-hour internal hackathon, which focused on addressing real-world challenges presented by various government ministries as part of the Smart India Hackathon.

During the event, students engaged in deep exploration of critical problem areas, utilizing their creativity and analytical skills to propose innovative solutions to the given problem areas.

A total of 44 teams have participated in the Smart India Internal Hackathon, comprising 34 newly participating teams, along with 10 teams from the MMS 2023-25 Batch, who had already taken part in the hackathon held earlier this month.

MET Institute of Management recently hosted an engaging ‘Internal Hackathon’ as part of the Smart India Hackathon 2024, highlighting the innovative spirit and technical skills of our students. Teams from various domains collaborated to solve complex problem statements, showcasing the power of creativity and teamwork.

With over 10 teams of 6 members each, including at least one female member, the event featured both online and offline formats. The esteemed jury of academic experts evaluated the projects with fairness and precision.

The hackathon was a huge success, motivating students to push the limits of innovation and contribute to India\'s technological growth.

On the occasion of World Water Conservation Day, with an aim to foster a culture of Water Conservation amongst the students, MET Institute of Management representatives of ‘Green Club Faculty Coordinators’ hosted a series of engaging activities.

The activities such as The Spoon Challenge, Water Footprint, Slogan Showdown, highlighted the difficulties faced by communities with limited water access and emphasized the importance of every drop. Students gained a deeper understanding of their daily water consumption habits. This empowered them to identify areas for reduction and make sustainable choices. Lastly, crafting powerful messages that resonated with the importance of water conservation.

On World Happiness Day, MET Institute of Management celebrated a significant step towards a more well-being-oriented educational environment. On 20th March 2024, an interactive meeting was held between MET representatives, led by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM and distinguished guests from prestigious Finnish universities - Ms. Sirpa Rutanen, Head of Communication and Marketing, Academic Services, VAMK University of Applied Sciences, Ms. Elina Valkama, Planning Officer for Communications and Marketing, SAMK University, Ms. Aija Ahokas, Manager of Education Export, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

The meeting\'s focus was on exploring collaborative efforts to create well-being-focused educational experiences. Exciting possibilities emerged, including a unique India-Finland Hackathon. This event would see talented students from both countries brainstorm solutions for achieving long-term happiness. The discussions extended beyond the hackathon, with student exchange programs also being explored to provide valuable international experience and broaden student horizons. MET IOM is keen about this collaboration\'s potential to enrich student education, foster cross-cultural understanding, and build opportunities for all members of our global community.

MET HR Department organised a refreshing, rejuvenating, and joy-filled retreat for MET & MRV faculty and staff members. A leisurely day out awaited at IMAGICAA, Water & Theme Park on Saturday, 16th March 2024.
