MMS AAROHAN 2022-2024

MET Institute of Management organised the induction launchpad programme \'AAROHAN 2022\' from
1st December 2022 to 3rd December 2022. The event was marked by traditional lamp lighting in the
presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, guests, faculty members
and the joining MMS students of 2022 batch.
Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM welcomed the students to their journey with MET and set the
tone for the event. The students also took a pledge to embark on the professional journey and truly
becoming METizens.
At the inaugural, the Chief guest Mr. Josy Paul, Chairman, BBDO shared the challenges one faces
while making a name for oneself in the field of advertising and marketing. He inspired students by
citing real life examples from his own professional journey. The event\'s Guest of Honour Ms. Rupa
Naik, Executive Director, World Trade Center shared her professional journey of reaching the position
of Executive Director. To become a trailblazer in life, she emphasised the value of asking essential
questions at the right moment. Mr. Harjeet Khanduja, Senior Vice President (HR), Reliance Jio
shared his success mantra in a whimsical way, ‘Have an attitude with aptitude’. He exposed the
students to various choices they would have and the decisions that would need to be taken.
On the second day, the guest of honour Mr. Sandeep Runwal, Managing Director, Runwal Group
shared pearls of wisdom with the incoming MMS students. Lessons from his lifelong journey were
imparted by Mr. Runwal as he talked about knowledge and networking as two essential elements of
both professional and personal success. He emphasised that the presence of interruptions in every
part of life is a significant barrier to performance and an incentive to improve. Mr. Chandan Agarwal,
Global CMI Director – Personal Care, Unilever gave guidance to the newly enrolled MMS class on
failing and being willing to take chances. He discussed his career experience, the ups and downs he
encountered, to encourage and inspire the students. Dr. Anil Kumar Misra, Chief HRO, Reliance
JioMart gave the students his perspective as a specialist in human resources. He described the
process by which information is changed into skill and then attitude as the cornerstone of both
personal and professional success.
On the third day, MET Institute of Management was privileged to have the Guest of Honour, Mr.
Motilal Oswal, Founder, Chairman & MD, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. In the interaction with
the new batch of MMS students, Mr. Oswal shared an important lesson he learned in his life, ’Learn
more to earn more’. He shared his life’s journey compartmentalised into 3 parts i.e Personal,
Professional and Investment. From the conversation, students acquired life lessons i.e alignment of
strengths and passion. On the other hand Mr. Shubha Vilas Das, Author, Storyteller & Motivational
Speaker explained the concept of self-motivation for managers through contemporary learnings
from Indian ethos. He helped the students examine the concept of self-satisfaction through the
lenses of pure knowledge acquisition and knowledge transfer.
The Induction program was a great start for the new enthusiastic students of MMS 2022 at MET that
allowed them an opportunity to interact with top notch entrepreneurs & leading professionals for the
industry.
Inauguration of Centre of Excellence - Finance

MET Institute of Management inaugurated its \'Centre of Excellence - Finance\' at the hands of Mr. Vijay Kedia, MD, Kedia Securities along with Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET and Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM.
Under the Centre of Excellence - Finance platform various events and activities will be organised in order to enlighten the budding MBAs with financial knowledge and exposure to the financial world.
At the inaugural event Mr. Kedia shared his life story and long term investment mantras with current stock market examples which indeed would be helpful in their personal life for creating wealth. The event included stock simulator, treasure hunt, paper presentation and financial quiz.
Traditional day

MET Institute of Management and MET Asian Management Development Centre celebrated the Traditional Day on 31st March 2022.
The students organised the entire event showcasing their managerial and organising skills. The program comprised of fun games, singing, dancing, and mimicry with surprising impromptu performance by renowned singer Vinay Mandke Sir from MET World of Music.
The young brigade of professors Prof. Sunny Mondal, Dr. Manmeet Barve and Prof. Sandesh Akre also added to the fun element by their rocking performances too.
Independence Day 2022

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day with immense
patriotism. The celebration commenced with a bike rally by students and faculty of all MET
Institutes. The students were soaked in the colour of Tiranga chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
It was followed by a splendidly co-ordinated march-past and the dignitaries hoisting the
National Flag with stunning rendition of the National Anthem by the MRV Primary Choir. Shri
Pankaj Bhujbal, Honourable Trustee, MET gave an inspiring speech followed by our Chief
Guest Ms Yatri Vitekar, Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board - Mumbai, under the Ministry
of Railways, Government of India who enthralled the audience with her thought provoking
words.
The bright and young MRV students from Preschool to Grade 10 and AS & A Levels
presented dynamic speeches in Hindi and English, a drama on Savitribai Phule, a street
play, amazing dance and music performances, which were infused with patriotic melodies, a
special performance by MET IIS, and finally closing with a fabulous singing performance by
our very own MET faculty and music legend Mr. Vinay Mandke. It was a memorable day at
MET and MRV.
Simulation Games as Innovative Pedagogy

MET Institute of Management’s IQAC organised a One Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on \'Simulation Games as Innovative Pedagogy\' on 4th October 2022 that was well-attended. The FDP was conducted by Ms. Roopa Gajwani, Simulation Games Trainer, LearnBiz Simulation LLP.
The session added valuable knowledge giving insights about the use of simulations in business strategies, taking competitive decisions across all major functions and having fun while learning!
The session helped academicians to enhance simulation-based teaching pedagogy to prepare the students for the BANI world.
International Day of Happiness

On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, MET Institute of Management organized a poster-making competition on 21st March 2022. The theme of the competition was \'Your idea of happiness\' where students pictorially depicted their interpretation of happiness. Students depicted their happiness in portraits of dance, landscapes, sports, quotes, nature, etc. Students enthusiastically adorned the creative hat to help spread awareness about the message on happiness being a fundamental human goal and its importance on the well-being and aspiration of people all around the globe.
Women Leadership Forum

MET Institute of Management organised the event ‘Women Leadership Forum’ where Six leading Women from different walks of life shared their visionary voices with Management Students that would illuminate the pathway for budding professionals. The esteemed women spoke the words of wisdom citing examples and lessons from their corporate and personal lives. The entire discussion was an eye-opener for all women and male participants.

MET Institute of Management organized \'Alumni Interaction Day\' on 18th February 2022 to give the essence of how one can do a long term career planning. The Alumni with rich experience and in depth knowledge of their fields served as a knowledge vault for management students.

Completion of interactive ‘Design Jam’

Seneca\'s Helix Summer Institute in Canada organised a 6-day virtual ‘Design Jam’ in August 2022 where renowned speakers gave informative sessions on entrepreneurship and innovation in order to promote an environment that is favourable to the growth of women entrepreneurs. Students were led and mentored by eminent speakers Mr. Chris Dudley, Director of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Lucas Chang, Co-Instructor, Helix Summer Institute, and Mr. Rob Cattle, Helix Facilitator, to give their entrepreneurial ideas the wings.
Hon. Minister Victor Fedeli, Minister of International Trade, Government of Ontario, presented the certificates of completion to the students of MET Institute of Management who had been invited by Seneca College, Canada to participate in the online ‘Design Jam’ hosted by HELIX Summer Institute, Canada.

MET Institute of Management organized the induction its launchpad programme \'AAROHAN 2021\' from 5th January 2022 to 7th January 2022. The event was marked by traditional lamp lighting, with most of the people joining the hybrid event online. The students took a pledge to embark on the journey of becoming METizen.
The Chief Guest Mr. Anand Rathi, Founder & Chairman, Anand Rathi Group gave his inaugural speech and shared his own professional journey. The students of the MMS batch also got first hand wisdom from the Guest of Honour Mr. Subha Vilas Das, Author, Storyteller, Motivational & TEDx Speaker, Counselor and Leadership Professor. In his motivational session, Mr. Das outlined the step to the path of growth. On other hand, the Guest of Honour Mr. Vijay Deshpande, Director (HR), J K Tyres shared valuable insights from his 34 years of experience in Human Resource Management and Development.
On the 2nd day Ms. Gayatri Purnaik, Executive Director (HR), Julius Baer Wealth Advisors (India) Private Ltd. spoke on Hiring candidates from an HR perspective to give budding managers at MET a head - start in their professional pursuit.
On the 3rd day, Guest of Honour Mr. Ramesh G. Iyer, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, shared nuggets of wisdom sharing his journey making students understand the challenges and ways to shape their paths better. He effectively highlighted the importance of having a mentor while charting a career path.
The students also interacted with Guest of Honour Mr. Vipul Joshi, Co-Founder and VP (Operations), ideaForge - India’s largest manufacturers of drones for defense, homeland security and industrial applications. Mr. Joshi shared his experience of the Product Life Cycle of Drone Manufacturing and delved deeper into building technology indigenously with many real life examples.
The Induction program was a great start for the new enthusiastic students of MMS 2021 at MET that allowed them an interaction opportunity with top notch entrepreneurs & leading professionals.
MET Utsav 2021

MET Utsav 2021, an eagerly awaited Mega Annual Cultural and Sports fest of the Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) is here again, with so much gusto and enthusiasm all around. What makes it special this time is the fact that it\'s after the pandemic lockdowns in the new normal, first time ever being celebrated in hybrid mode with all the safety SOPs and precautions in place.
The MET Utsav 2021 was inaugurated at the hands of MET Trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal in the presence of all MET Directors, Principals, HODs and students joining online on 22 October 2021. The annual fest saw a plethora of events lined up for all METizens and MRVites.
As we are aware, ‘Ludo’ became the king of games during the pandemic. It\'s fun and entertaining for all age groups, therefore was featured as one of the enlisted Online Gaming Competitions as part of MET Utsav 2021. Gamers from across MET Institutes gathered virtually for a ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ (BGMI) gaming tournament held on day two of the fest. Battleground Mobile India Series is one of the biggest Battle Royale Esports events in the country. The competition drew over MET student gamers in large numbers who battled it out online. Being awarded as one of the best mobile games ‘Call of Duty’ (COD) was included in the MET Utsav 2021 online gaming tournaments too. The participating teams of COD exhibited the attributes such as unity, tactics and focus. These extremely engaging online gaming competitions saw hundreds of MET students contending for the winning titles. The enthusiastic students ensured that the event was a resounding success.
During the week long celebrations, a fun event ‘Antakshari’ was organised for the MET students, faculties and management staff. As part of MET Utsav 2021, the evergreen game \'Antakshari\' was organised on 25th October 2021, in which all MET staff - Teaching and non-teaching, participated with great enthusiasm and had a great time of fun and joy.
The online game competitions were followed by the sports day in which the students participated in a series of indoor games displaying their caliber in extracurricular events. Indoor games included chess, carom board and table tennis.
The MET Utsav 2021 concluded with a ‘Grand Finale’ on 30th October, 2021. For the first time the Cultural Event was organised in a hybrid form (both offline and online). Keeping in view the current scenario of Covid-19, MET Utsav 2021 was themed as ‘All is Well’ to convey the positive behavioural approach to overcome the circumstances everyone is facing. The audience witnessed flawless skilled performances recorded offline and presented online for large audience that joined online for this event. The solo and group dance performances were well choreographed by professionals and performed beautifully by MET students. Right from the MRV school to MET postgraduate students all came together to make the event entertaining and successful, demonstrating a positive outlook towards the situation. MRV student’s band performance along with Navdurga and Corona Warriors themed dance exhibits were the main highlights of the evening that infused so much of optimism in hope in the audience.
The event also witnessed melodious solo singing performances of peppy songs by MET students. Stand-up comedy made the audience laugh out louder. On the other hand, students and staff showed extraordinary creative skills in the field of photography, sketching, sculpture artifacts and illustration by submitting their entries in the ‘Creative Exhibition’; which was displayed in a 3D walk through. Students created a nostalgia for all the alumni by Bollywood Reunion Dance which was shot in college premises.
On this occasion the ‘MET Gaurav Awards’ were given to members of the MET staff & students who had shown the highest level of achievement and excellence at the international or national level whereas ‘MET Ratna Awards’ were felicitated to the sharpest minds of MET who have topped in their respective courses making the MET family feel proud. These awards were bestowed at the hands of MET Trustee, Mrs. Meena Bhujbal. Indeed, MET Utsav was a great hit even in the newer hybrid form. Everyone had a gala time with an entertaining evening. MET students deserved a great appreciation and therefore won the applause from students, faculty, and parents. Kudos to all the METizens.
