The DLLE department and MET Pharma Eco catalysts of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), in collaboration with United Ways, Mumbai, orchestrated a beach cleanup initiative on November 18, 2023, at Mahim Beach. Commencing with instructions from NGO volunteers on cleanup guidelines, the event featured efficient waste segregation into categories such as plastic bottles, shoes, microplastics, gunny bags, clothes, and plastic bags. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for all the students.

MET Institute of Pharmacy witnessed the splendid celebration of the Ras Garba event on October 21, 2023. This cultural gathering showcased a lively blend of music, dance, and tradition. Participants adorned in vibrant attire enthusiastically participated in the traditional Indian dance of Garba. As the evening unfolded, the event transitioned into an exciting phase of announcing winners, with Mr. Jugal Shah being recognized as the Best Dressed Male and Ms. Yesha Shah as the Best Dressed Female. Mr. Aman Surolia and Mr. Sarans Jain displayed their dance prowess, earning the title of Best Dancer Male, while Yesha Shah and Trisha Savla were honored as the Best Dancer Female.

MET IOP (Degree) organized a quiz competition on the occasion of National Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Day on 10th October 2023, specifically tailored for third-year and final-year B Pharmacy degree students. The primary objective of the event was to enrich students\' comprehension of cGMP principles, ensuring the production of pharmaceutical products that meet stringent safety and quality standards. The quiz included a variety of formats, such as multiple-choice questions, scenario-based inquiries, and practical problem-solving tasks. Certificates were awarded to participants who achieved a grade exceeding 60%.

Participants showcased their expertise in cGMP regulations, quality control, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols. The active involvement of students in the competition demonstrated their profound understanding of cGMP and its crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry. Beyond fostering healthy competition, the event served as a platform for students to actively engage in discussions and exchange ideas regarding cGMP compliance and its practical applications in the real world. Overall, it provided a valuable educational opportunity and a memorable experience for all participants.

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) and Green Club MET IOP (Degree) collaboratively organized a highly successful Plastic and E-Waste Collection Drive spanning from September 18th to 23rd, 2023. This environmentally conscious initiative aimed to promote awareness about preserving the environment and fostering responsible waste management practices. Throughout the drive, both students and staff actively engaged in the collection of used plastic items and electronic waste from the campus and the surrounding local community.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the student body, showcasing a robust dedication to sustainability. A variety of materials, including plastic bags, bottles, and e-waste items such as outdated electronic gadgets and cables, were diligently collected during the campaign. Subsequently, gathered materials were sorted and handed over to recycling-focused companies, namely \'The Recycling Company\' and \'Aasara Welfare Association.\'

MET Institute of Pharmacy Degree celebrated the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi on 28th June 2023. Ashadhi Ekadashi is a significant day dedicated to the revered deity Shri Vitthal and marks the observance of a religious procession celebrated between June and July. Following the Marathi calendar, it falls in the Aashadh Shukla Paksha phase. Both Ekadashi days, the 11th day of each lunar fortnight, hold immense importance for individuals.

To commence the academic year 2022-2023 at the MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), a splendid and enjoyable Pooja ceremony was organized, commencing in the morning. Teachers, staff members and students all demonstrated their unwavering devotion to Lord Vitthal. The ceremony concluded with the aarti (ritualistic prayer) and devotional bhajans creating an atmosphere filled with joy and spirituality that permeated the entire space.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) collaborated with MET Hydro Green to orchestrate a tree planting initiative within its campus, igniting a sense of environmental stewardship among its student body, on the 9th of October 2023, with active participation from first-year D.Pharm students. The program was executed under the guidance of Dr. Suryakant Bhosale, Principal, IOP (D.Pharm), and Mrs. Dipali Khabale, IOP, ( Faculty Co-ordinator) of MET Hydro Green. The event transpired in the MET garden, with assistance from the garden caretaker. Approximately 75 saplings were planted during this initiative, including diverse varieties like neem, Tulsi, ornamental plants like roses and wishbone, as well as medicinal plants such as ranapala, bamboo, and hibiscus. The tree planting drive aimed to instill a lasting commitment within the students to safeguard the well-being of these newly planted trees, rather than being a one-time event.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) Student Council organized a welcoming event on October 4, 2023, to greet the incoming class of 2023. Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal, IOP (Degree) and Dr. Rashmi Srivastava, Course Coordinator, extended their warm greetings to the new students, embracing them into the MET family. The freshers enjoyed an entertaining evening filled with various games, including movie guessing through emojis and a dance game featuring popular hook steps.

The selection of Mr. and Ms. Fresher took place through a talent showcase and a challenging question-and-answer session. Ultimately, Mr. Lokhandwala Huzaifa Mustafa was crowned as Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher was awarded to Falcao Nyssa Ashok. The event concluded with refreshments and a DJ, making it an overall enjoyable evening.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) achieved remarkable accomplishments at NMIMS College\'s annual UMANG cultural festival, which took place from September 14th to 17th, 2023. Students from MET participated in a variety of activities. Notably, Mr. Kunal Jadhav and Mr. Karan Ghankute, both second-year B. Pharmacy students, left their mark on the event\'s success. They secured victory in the \'Pehel: Initiation through Innovation\' competition, which emphasized entrepreneurship and management. Additionally, Mr. Kunal Jadhav displayed his exceptional intellectual abilities by claiming the top spot in the Ultimate Forage event, featuring challenging mental math problems and engaging quizzes. Their impressive achievements solidified their reputation as outstanding scholars and competitors.

MET Institute of Pharmacy conducted a Health Check-up Camp for all MET staff to commemorate World Pharmacists Day on 25th September 2023, in partnership with Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital. The medical camp included a range of tests, including Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Eye Check-up, Dental Check-up and Bone Mass Density assessments, in addition to consultations with doctors. Approximately 85 members of the MET staff received valuable health benefits from this event.

The Orientation program for the Batch of 2023-24 was held on 13th September 2023 at the Convention Centre of MET Institute of Pharmacy, Bandra. Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal, MET IOP (Degree), addressed the attendees and provided insights into the course\'s key features and the available infrastructure facilities. The students and their parents were introduced to the distinguished faculty members, along with a summary of their notable accomplishments. Subsequently, an overview of the curriculum, examination guidelines, grading system and related matters was presented. The importance of engaging in both co-curricular and extracurricular activities was also emphasized.

The program concluded with parents acknowledging their understanding and agreement to abide by the Examination rules, Lab Safety protocols, Anti-ragging policies and the Dress code by signing an undertaking. The event wrapped up with an open interactive session, allowing faculty, parents and students to engage in meaningful discussions.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organised a Convocation Ceremony on May 6, 2023 for the B. Pharm batch 2018-22.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal, MET IOP(Degree) and Guest of Honour, Mr. B.E. Khomne, Retired Assistant Commissioner of FDA.

Mr. B.E. Khomne impressed upon the students the importance of health, the role of the alumni and shared a few experiences of his career.

The graduates then pledged to serve the profession of pharmacy in an ethical manner and the degrees were further conferred upon them by the esteemed dignitaries.

Overall, it was a day filled with fun and memorable moments.

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension and Social Awareness Committee of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) started the DaanUstav: Donation Drive on 8th October 2022.

DaanUtsav, earlier called the Joy of Giving Week, is India\'s ‘festival of giving’. It was launched in 2009 and the festival is celebrated every year – commencing on Gandhi Jayanti – from 2nd to 8th October. The collected items like pen, pencil, books, eraser, sharpeners, crayons, colours, clothes were donated to Spaarsh Foundation on 25th October 2022.
