MET Hydrogreen Club Activity

MET Hydrogreen, the Green Club of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), organized a Nirmalya collection and composting drive on 13th September 2024 under the guidance of Principal Dr. Suryakant Bhosale and Green Club Faculty Coordinator Mrs. Dipali Khabale.
The initiative aimed to reduce the environmental impact of festival offerings. Students collected natural materials like flowers, leaves, and durva grass from homes and Ganesh pandals, which were composted in a specially prepared pit in the MET Garden. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with a large amount of Nirmalya collected. A compost pit, 4 feet by 4 feet, was created in the MET Garden on the college campus, and all collected Nirmalya was placed in the pit and covered with soil. Special care was taken to ensure no plastic, glass, or metal objects were mixed in the Nirmalya.
The activity was carried out with enthusiasm by Green Club members, and a sense of satisfaction was evident as they took a step toward preventing water pollution, conserving water, and optimizing the use of natural resources. This initiative not only helped prevent water pollution but also promoted sustainability by transforming Nirmalya into an organic fertilizer.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) celebrates the success of second-year student Mr. Shaikh Hamza, who earned the Second Prize and a cash prize in the Inter-collegiate Technical E-Quiz competition held by Nagrik Shikshan Sanstha\'s College of Pharmacy on August 2nd, 2024, on the occasion of World Hepatitis day. Out of 97 participants, Mr. Hamza’s performance was exemplary. Dr. Suryakant Bhosle, Principal of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), felicitated Mr. Hamza for his outstanding success. Congratulations to him for his remarkable accomplishment!
Guest Lecture with Mr. Melroy D’Sa

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) hosted a guest lecture on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The session, led by Mr. @Melroy Mervyn D’Sa, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Oriental College of Pharmacy, Navi-Mumbai, and Ph.D. Research Scholar at the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, focused on exploring long-term opportunities for individuals post-Diploma in Pharmacy in both India and abroad.
Mr. Melroy also shared insights into his active participation in various research projects. The event included an interactive question and answer session, concluding with a group photograph and an inspiring motivational video.
World Brain Day Quiz

On July 22, 2024, in celebration of World Brain Day, MET Institute of Pharmacy hosted an innovative online event: the World Brain Teaser Quiz. The quiz aimed to raise awareness about brain health while providing an engaging and educational experience for participants of all ages.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and was designed with a mix of one-word answers, riddles, and multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to test various cognitive skills while spreading awareness among the participants. Topics ranged from neuroscience and medicine-related questions to memory challenges, ensuring a comprehensive mental workout. A digital platform was used to facilitate the event, ensuring ease of access and participation.
The winners of the quiz were Ms. Apoorva Gajula from SY B. Pharm, who secured the first prize, followed by Mr. Yash Parmar from SY B. Pharm in second place, and Ms. Rhutuja Gangan from TY B. Pharm in third place. Their outstanding performances highlighted their knowledge and quick thinking.
The World Brain Teaser Quiz successfully emphasized the importance of cognitive health, providing a fun and stimulating activity that brought the student community together in a meaningful way. The event not only showcased the intellectual prowess of the participants but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and collective learning.
Honoring Teachers on Guru Purnima

On July 22, 2024, the second-year DPharm students held a special celebration to honor their teachers on Guru Purnima. They began by presenting flowers to the teachers, a traditional gesture of respect and appreciation. During the event, Class Representative Pratham Rewale and Ladies Representative Kavyanjali Davane gave speeches highlighting the crucial role of teachers in our education and personal development. It was a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the unwavering support and guidance provided by the teachers. The celebration of Guru Purnima reinforced the importance of the teacher-student relationship and offered us a meaningful way to acknowledge the significance of their mentorship in our academic journey.
Aashadi Ekadashi celebration at MET IOP

MET Institute of Pharmacy celebrated the auspicious day of Aashadi Ekadashi on the 17th of July, 2024. Aashadi Ekadashi commemorates the day when Lord Vishnu, in his form as Vitthal, decided to rest in Pandharpur, a town in Maharashtra. According to legend, devotees of Vitthal (also known as Varkaris) undertake a pilgrimage, known as \'wari\' or \'palkhi,\' from various parts of Maharashtra to Pandharpur on this occasion. Devotees at MET gathered for the Vitthal puja and returned to celebrate the day by chanting hymns and bhajans dedicated to Vitthal.
Students drew a wonderful rangoli depicting the Lord, and the whole classroom was transformed with elaborate decorations. All the MET devotees offered flowers, tulsi leaves, and fruits to the deity as a token of their devotion. The aarti was graced by our trustee, Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, adding to the sanctity of the celebration.
A bhajan mandali, comprising our MET staff and students, performed devotional songs known as abhangas and bhajans, composed by saints like Sant Tukaram and Sant Dnyaneshwar. Their soulful performances enhanced the festive atmosphere and made the celebration of Aashadi Ekadashi truly memorable.
Mr. Sheetal Chandan\'s Talk: Preventing Medication Errors

On February 3, 2024, MET Institute of Pharmacy organised a guest lecture for S.Y. D.Pharmacy students, centered on the topic \'The Pharmacist\'s Role in Preventing Dispensing and Medication Errors\'. Mr. Sheetal Chandan, Senior Pharmacy Officer at KEM Hospital, was the speaker for the event. Throughout his presentation, he discussed how pharmacists employ their expertise in medication management, uphold quality standards, and consistently pursue enhancements to positively impact the health and welfare of the community.
Teachers\' Day Celebration

On 5th September, 2024, on the account of Teacher’s Day, the Student Council of MET Institute of Pharmacy (degree) organised a heart-warming surprise to honour the dedication and hard work of their teachers.
After the day\'s regular lectures, students gathered to present a special cake to their professors, as a token of appreciation for their constant guidance and support. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students brought out the beautifully decorated cake, which was met with delighted smiles from the faculty.
The cake-cutting ceremony took place in a festive spirit, with all teachers collectively participating in the celebration. The event was a wonderful reminder of the impact that teachers have and the gratitude students feel towards them.
World Pharmacists Day Celebration

On 23rd and 25th September 2024, the MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) celebrated World Pharmacists Day with a series of engaging and educational events. The celebrations began on the 23rd with a lively quiz competition, where students showcased their pharmacy knowledge in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere. Following this, a treasure hunt took participants on an adventurous journey across campus, solving clues related to drugs and pharma companies, promoting teamwork and enthusiasm.
On September 25th, the elocution contest brought forward passionate speeches, as students expressed their thoughts on this year’s theme, highlighting the vital contributions of pharmacists to healthcare. The event provided a platform for students to demonstrate their oratory skills and engage deeply with the profession’s significance.
These celebrations fostered learning and collaboration but also strengthened the sense of community within the institute. Organized by the Institute\'s Innovation Council, the innovative events were a great success, leaving participants inspired and motivated.
Nirmalya Collection Event

An initiative to honor both tradition and environmental stewardship, the Green Club of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) hosted a Nirmalya Collection event from 9th to 12th September, 2024. The event asked students and the college community to bring sacred flowers used during the Ganpati celebrations to college.
The collected flowers were not discarded but instead transformed into natural fertilizer. This process ensures that each bloom continues to contribute positively to the environment, turning offerings of devotion into lasting benefits for nature.
The event exemplified how we can merge our cultural practices with ecological responsibility, demonstrating that even after the festivities, our commitment to the Earth can continue to grow.
Pharmaceutical Industry Visit

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) arranged a one-day industrial visit to DISNIL BIOTECH in Vasai for the first-year D.Pharm students on March 21, 2023. Accompanied by Mrs. Vaishali Malvankar, 65 students participated in the visit, which aimed to provide insights into the functioning of pharmaceutical industries, emphasizing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The visit included an overview of the manufacturing processes for various products and the machinery employed in these processes, such as Pan Coating Compression, Blister Packaging, and Capsule Filling Machines. Overall, the experience proved to be highly educational and enriching for the students.
MET IOP hosts Educational Event on World Water Day

On the occasion of World Water Day on March 22, 2024, MET Institute of
Pharmacy (DIPLOMA), under the guidance of Principal Dr.Suryakant Bhosale and Green Club Faculty coordinator Mrs. Dipali Khabale, organized a Poster Competition and Video Competition for YEWS GREEN CLUB, adhering to the guidelines set forth by UNICEF and the Government of Maharashtra. The theme for the competition was “WORLD WATER DAYâ€, Water Conservation through Personal Behavioral Change. The response to the event was commendable, with a significant number of members participated actively.
A total of 25 posters were created, and the top three posters were selected by the faculty of Diploma Pharmacy. The winners of the Poster Competition were as follows: first prize - Tanmay Vartak, second prize - Kavyanjali Davane, and third prize - JuveriahMomin.
An informative video was produced featuring the participation of Green Club Members AmanGawde, Saad Shaikh, and Sujal Gupta, under the guidance and direction of Nikhil Palve. Additionally, a small yet impactful activity was conducted to raise awareness about the significance of every drop of water. This activity involved passing water through a spoon, symbolizing the pipeline responsible for supplying water from one end to the other.
The objective was to ensure the seamless transfer of 100% water from one point to another. The students demonstrated excellent participation and understanding of the activity, further emphasizing the importance of water conservation. Overall, the event proved to be both educational and engaging, fostering a sense of responsibility towards water conservation among the participants.
