MET CET commenced its enriching five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) with the ceremonial lamp lighting led by Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative. The initiative brought together expert speakers and faculty members for a series of impactful sessions focused on progressive teaching methodologies.

Day 1 featured Dr. Chitra Wadke who led a session on Flipped Classroom, introducing student-centric methods to promote active participation and engagement in the learning process.

Day 2 was conducted by Ms. Armaity Kelawalla, who delivered an insightful session on Facilitating Neuro-Inclusive Education through Sensitization and Mentoring. A professional social worker, special educator, arts-based therapist, soft skills trainer, and life coach, she currently serves as a Fieldwork Supervisor at TISS, Mumbai.

Day 3 featured Ms. Sulakshana Rathod who conducted a session on implementing cooperative learning strategies. As Senior Manager at Emeritus, she designs and delivers learning journeys for mid to senior-level professionals across corporate and government sectors, focusing on leadership and transformation.

The ongoing FDP reflects MET\'s commitment to fostering academic excellence and equipping educators with future-ready teaching tools.

On March 9, 2024, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) students paid a visit to the Welfare Society for Destitute Children, St. Catherine of Siena School & Orphanage on Mount Mary Road, Bandra (West).

Brother Joseph and a social worker provided insights into the non-profit organization. First-year students demonstrated and guided the orphanage children on oral hygiene, hand hygiene, nutrition, and diet. They also interacted and shared joyful moments with the students. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Celebrating National Innovation Day at MET IOP (Degree)!

In honor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary, MET Institute Of Pharmacy (Degree)’s Institutional Innovation Council hosted a dynamic panel discussion on innovation in formulation development—an essential area in today’s pharmaceutical landscape.

Esteemed panelists, including Dr. Ashok Omray (Pharmaceutical & Academic Advisor), Mrs. Pooja Upadhyay Banbakode (GM, Technical Business Development, Mandar Organics Pvt. Ltd.), and Mr. Vinay Jain (Manager, Formulation Development, Evonik Industries), shared their expertise. Moderated by Mrs. Vrushali Keer, the session bridged the gap between academia and industry, encouraging students to think beyond boundaries.

The discussion delved into theoretical and practical approaches to formulation processes, adherence to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and regulatory guidelines, lab-scale innovation vs. commercial production, and the importance of natural sources and larger molecules like mAbs, proteins, and biosimilars in current industry trends.

Dr. Sonali Naik delivered a detailed speech on Sant Dnyaneshwar’s life and the teachings of the Dnyaneshwari, explaining its relevance to modern thought. Following her, Mr. Siddhesh Wadkar provided further insights into the text, focusing on its practical implications for students.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) hosted the MSBTE-sponsored Technical Paper Presentation on Friday, October 4, 2024, with 17 teams from various Mumbai region colleges participating. The event began with Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the lamp, setting a formal tone.

The Scrutiny Panel featured Dr. Rupesh Pingale, Principal of NCRD Sterling Institute of Pharmacy, Dr. Rizwan Sheikh, Principal, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) Nasik, Mrs. Manisha Choudhary, Senior Lecturer, D.Y. Patil Institute of Pharmacy, and Mr. Sunil Chavan, Senior Lecturer, K.M. Kundnani Pharmacy Polytechnic, Ulhasnagar, representing MSBTE. The jury members included Mr. Nilesh Khutle, HOD, Hiranandani Institute of Pharmacy, and Mrs. Manisha Pal, Senior Pharmacist, Hiranandani Hospital. They were welcomed by Dr. Suryakant Bhosale, Principal, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) who presented them with saplings.

Dr. Bhosale addressed the gathering, appreciating MSBTE for fostering research and innovation. Participants showcased their research on various pharmaceutical topics, with a Q&A session allowing the jury to engage in critical discussions.
The event concluded with Dr. Bhosale congratulating the participants and awarding certificates and cash prizes. The Scrutiny and Jury members offered feedback on the event, which ended on a high note, inspiring participants to continue their research in pharmacy science.

On September 6th, 2024, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) students actively participated in a tree plantation drive organized by the DLLE committee of the MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) in collaboration with Parayavaran Dakshata Mandal at Titwala. The program began with an introduction by Mr. Deva Jadhav. He explained the mission of the organization and the specifics of the tree plantation project. He emphasized the importance of tree plantations and discussed the urgent need to address deforestation due to urbanization and climate change. Further, the students were given a brief about how to plant saplings properly. Under the guidance of the team members, the students volunteered in the actual tree plantation process and successfully planted around 50 saplings. The event concluded with a brief interaction session where students shared their experiences and reflections on the drive.

Accompanying him was Prof. Farida Virani, HoD of the MET Incubation Centre. Dr. Suryakant Bhosle, Principal of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), commenced the event by felicitating Dr. Raaza. Dr. Raaza, CEO of Arcomm Technology Development in Dubai and Director at STRICX LLC in New Jersey, USA, provided an in-depth overview of IPR and patents. He covered the basics of patents, the filing process, their importance in protecting innovations, and strategies for utilizing IPR effectively. Additionally, he shared his personal experiences in the field, offering valuable insights and practical advice that proved to be extremely helpful and motivating for the students.

Prof. Farida Virani encouraged students to develop innovative ideas and emphasized that the MET Incubation Centre is fully committed to supporting their creative efforts. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for Dr. Raaza’s engaging presentation and the valuable insights shared. Overall, the event was incredibly beneficial, equipping students with essential knowledge and encouragement to transform their creative ideas into reality.

We are thrilled to share that MET Institute has successfully hosted an inspiring and enlightening IT Colloquium on 6th July 2024. The event brought together industry experts, academicians, and students to explore the latest trends and advancements in the field of Information Technology.

The event commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge for an enlightening and fruitful day. Welcome address by our honourable trustee Shri Pankaj Bhujbal Sir emphasized the importance of staying abreast of technological advancements and to leverage such platforms for continuous learning and innovation. The theme of the colloquium was set by Dr. Abhijit Banubakode - Principal ICS at MET Institute.

We were honored to have Ms. Reshma Qureshi - Head, Digital Enablement (Ideation to Revenue Value Chain) at TCS as Keynote Speaker who shared their invaluable insights on IT transitions and Evolution.

Next was the panel discussion with the theme \"Evolving trends and Expectations in the IT Industry\", The panelists, Mr. Davinder Singh - Chief Placement Officer CDAC Mumbai Region, Prof. Omprakash Mandge - Course Coordinator at MET ics and MET ISDR, Mr. Krupesh Parmar - Intelliza Solutions, Dr. Ashish Hanttangadi - Professor at Alkesh Dinesh Mody College, Mr. Dixson Almeida - Consultant at Securetech Solutions, Dr. Seema Purohit - Professor Emeritus at B.K. Birla College and Mr. Pankaj Tayade - Leader at IIBA provided diverse viewpoints and sparked meaningful conversations.

The event was also graced by Dr Neil Sequeira for an interactive session for all our industry delegates on Happiness Psychology. He made a significant contribution to help us understand how psychological principles can be applied to enhance our daily lives.

This was followed by Vote of thanks by very own Dr. Jyotsna Munshi - Deputy Director Corporate Relations Department.

This colloquium has reinforced our commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment. We look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue nurturing the IT talent and bridging the gap between academia and industry.
