A five day Online International Student Development Program (ISDP) on ‘Pharmaceutical Education & Research: A Medley’ was hosted by MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) from 22^nd to 26^th July. The ISDP included a wide range of keynote presentations by ace pharma and health science researchers from India, Germany, US besides renowned academicians enriching the learning of students by presenting latest findings and statistical data in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Apart from sessions encompassing myriad aspects of pharmacy education & research, the ISDP included a grand poster competition on the topic ‘Strategies in COVID 19 Testing and Therapeutics’. The program received an overwhelming response with around 600 participants from all over India and 48 entries for the poster competition.

The multifaceted International Student Development Program featured a panel of distinguished speakers like Dr. Khalid Kamal, Chair and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Systems and Policy - West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, Dr. Anita Nair, Regulatory expert in Regulatory Management - Merck KGaA, Germany, Prof. Prashant Kharkar - Professor, Institute of Chemical Technology, Dr. Swati Patil, Associate Professor - Prin. K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Dr. Vaishali Dixit, Associate Professor - Bombay College of Pharmacy, Dr. Kalyani Asgaonkar, Assistant Professor - AISSMS college of Pharmacy, Dr. Mrinal Sanaye, Associate Professor - Prin K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Dr. Varsha Pradhan, Visiting Associate Professor - Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University, Dr. Arati Prabhu, Associate Professor - SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy and Ms. Pallavi Kamath, Assistant Manager - SIRO Clinpharm Pvt. Ltd. The sessions consisted of topics ranging from Scientific Writing, Latest trends in Clinical Trials, Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery to Role of Patents and Medical Writing. Five days were extremely beneficial for hundreds of students who keenly harnessed the wisdom of presenting stalwarts from industry and academia.

MET Institute of Pharmacy celebrated Marathi Bhasha Diwas on 27^th February, 2020 with various cultural programmes based on the theme ‘The Evolution of the Era of Marathi Films\'. We began this joyous occasion with students performing an energetic dance devoted to Lord Ganesha. Powada based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was sung by Mr. Sudhir Ayare. The famous Lavani dance was performed with great enthusiasm. Many acts were enacted which were based on various Marathi stage dramas such as ‘Moruchi Mawshi\' and ‘Natasamrat\' followed by ‘Gondhal’. Scenes of well-known Marathi sitcoms such as ‘Timepass\' and ‘Duniya Daari\' were staged. The day would have been incomplete without an act performed on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by the students. Dr. U. B. Hadkar enlightened the audience regarding the beauty of the Marathi language. Dr. Sonali Naik and a few students hosted the event and encouraged the audience to enjoy the various art forms in Marathi.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) family came together to bid farewell to the outgoing 2019-2020 batch on 29^th February 2020 organized by third year students. The Auditorium was festooned keeping in mind the ‘Galaxy’ theme. The backdrop bore gold and shining stars with a shimmering crescent moon. A collage having photographic memories was displayed in the foyer.

The event began with Dr. U.B. Hadkar, Dr. Abha Doshi and Dr. S.D. Bhosale addressing the students, wishing them the best for their future. Various interactive games were played to make the evening more memorable and entertaining, followed by a captivating dance performance by the junior students dedicated to seniors.

Emotional and heartfelt speeches were delivered by few Final years expressing their gratitude to professors for their teaching and never ending support. They also emphasized on the strong bonds made among the students which would never be forgotten.

The event ended with a video depicting the students’ fun moments in college which left everyone teary eyed. It was a day filled with mixed emotions and reminiscing joyous moments.

The Republic Day is celebrated in the honour of the day when India\'s Constitution was signed and India was declared a republic on 26th January, 1950. MET and MRV celebrated the day with patriotic fervour, hoisting the Tricolour and singing the National Anthem. Hon. Trustee Pankaj Bhujbal and Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management addressed the students on the occasion in the presence of MET Directors, Principals, HODs, faculty, staff, students and parents.

As an ode to the spirit of India, MRV Dance Club presented a unique act of Unity through their beautiful rendition of contemporary, semi-classical and hip-hop fusion. The Tricolour coded dancers brought out the sense of integrity in India’s diversity with their power packed performance on the Republic Day. METizens multiplied the spirit of the celebrations by presenting songs about the pride of India.

The students of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) had organised a free skin and hair analysis camp in collaboration with IPA-MSB-SF and Glenmark. The event was conducted on Friday,  28^th January 2020 by Dr. Madhuri Agarwal. A lot of Metizens were benefitted from her expertise and gained a good insight for a heathier skin and lifestyle.

On 15^th January, 2020 students of METIOP (Degree) undertook a \'Rural Area Campaign\' at Agvan village, Umbroli. The aim of the campaign was to make the people aware about the fundamentals of Health and Hygiene. The importance of sanitation in our day-to-day lives was emphasized upon, segregation, disposal and decomposition of wet and dry waste was explained, the need to prevent water logging for preventing diseases like dengue and malaria and trying to reduce the use of pesticides was suggested. The significance of having a Nutritious and Balanced diet was discussed with them. This interaction made it possible to enhance and improve their knowledge towards leading a Healthy and Hygienic lifestyle.

The Student Council under the guidance of Dr. Vijaya Patil of METIOP (Degree) conducted a social event on 21^st December 2019, to spread awareness about Nutrition. Children of varying age groups from ‘Happy School Academy’ by Naata foundation were motivated to eat healthy and sustainable diets. Emphasis was laid on good eating habits which would not only improve their nutritional well-being but also prevent dietary deficiency diseases. To the atmosphere livelier, a small Christmas celebration was organized and small games were played with the students. The active participation, cheerfulness of the students along with the joint efforts of Student council made the drive a Success!

The Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas was celebrated by MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) on 26^th November, 2019 to mark the anniversary of adoption of the Indian Constitution. The Preamble of the Constitution was read in common by all the students & faculties of the Institute. Dr. S. D. Bhosale, Principal - MET IOP (Diploma), addressed the students about the significance of the Constitution Day.

METIOP celebrated their annual day - Lumiere on 28^th September, 2019. The function began with a movie event, wherein the students enacted various scenes from the movies assigned to them, followed by Antakshari in which students enjoyed singing various songs of all eras. The cultural event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp and classical dance. The Fashion show having a Bollywood theme became an enthusiastic rage among the masses. The evening brought along dynamic dances and melodious singing performances. The fest promoted creative ideas and provided a platform for students to share their talents through meme making and standup comedy. The audience experienced a wide spectrum of emotions through these zealous performances. The fest concluded with a DJ session and dinner.

On 25^th September 2019, METIOP celebrated World Pharmacist Day, where a student of S. Y. B. Pharm, Mr. Nishant Patil, enlightened the students of first year regarding the role of a pharmacist in the society. World Pharmacist Day aims to highlight the crucial role played by a pharmacist in providing medicines and improving health in every corner of the world, providing detailed knowledge about the drug he/she is dealing with and also, spreading awareness about new and safer medicines, safe and effective use of medicines by looking out for adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organized a Convocation ceremony on March 2, 2019 for the B. Pharm batch 2014-18.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by our Director Dr. U.B. Hadkar, Principal Dr. Abha Doshi, and the co-ordinator Mrs. Priyanka Joshi Jain. The occasion was graced by the Director of Synergy Pharma Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Subramanian Vaidya who was the Guest of Honour. He impressed upon the students the importance of health and how learning a foreign language can prove to be an added bonus to one’s CV. The graduates then pledged to serve the profession of pharmacy in an ethical manner. The degrees were then conferred upon them by the Director, Principal and the Guest of Honour.

A photo session with the Graduates was conducted and the ceremony concluded by interaction with the teachers over tea and snacks.

Continuing with the proud tradition of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), which is one of the best Pharmacy College in Mumbai, S.Y.D. Pharm students organized a Freshers’ Party for their juniors on 27^th Aug 2019. Dr. U. B. Hadkar, Dr. S. D. Bhosale & Dr. Abha Doshi welcomed the students with motivational speeches. It was a fun filled event at which the seniors showcased their talent in singing, dancing & acting. First year students got an opportunity to mingle with their classmates & their seniors. The Event concluded with enjoyable DJ session for all the students.
