As part of Aarohan Launchpad 2025, MET Institute of Management organized an Outbound Training Program for its newly inducted MMS 2025–27 students from 26th - 29th September 2025. The program comprised a series of engaging sessions that included ice-breakers to set the tone and build rapport, mental challenges to stimulate problem-solving, creative tasks focused on ideation and planning, reflective debriefs on overcoming barriers to innovation, and simulation-based group activities encouraging collaboration and healthy competition.

The structured design of the training emphasized experiential learning, enabling students to enhance their communication skills, teamwork, leadership qualities, creativity, and resilience. It also instilled critical management values such as initiative, self-confidence, adaptability, and respect for diverse perspectives.

Through this initiative, MET IOM reaffirmed its commitment to shaping well-rounded management professionals equipped not only with academic excellence but also with the interpersonal and leadership skills essential for future business leaders.

On 3rd April 2025, MET Institute of Management organized an insightful visit to the National Stock Exchange (NSE), providing MMS 2024-26 students with first-hand exposure to the dynamic world of stock trading and financial markets. This experiential learning opportunity deepened their understanding of capital markets, trading strategies, and derivatives, bridging the gap between academics and real-world finance.

During the visit, Mr. Purv Shah, NSE Academy Trainer, delivered an insightful and engaging session on key financial market concepts. The session provided a comprehensive overview of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and its role in the financial ecosystem, followed by an in-depth discussion on the Capital Market Segment, highlighting market operations, investment opportunities, and key instruments. The session also featured a live demonstration of Futures & Options trading, offering practical exposure to derivatives. Additionally, students had the opportunity to experience NSE NSMART – a trading simulation, which provided hands-on learning in market dynamics and strategy development.

MET Institute of Management, in collaboration with the ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning) initiative, inaugurated a six-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on \"Holistic Sustainability Strategies for India in Energy, Water, and Climate Change\" on December 16, 2024. The program was aimed to address critical sustainability issues while equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to drive impactful change. 119 participants registered, reflecting the growing interest in sustainability-focused initiatives. Dr. Sagar Gaikwad, Assistant Professor, MET IOM and Dr. Rashmi Bhadani, Assistant Professor, MET IOM are the Coordinator and Co-Coordinator respectively for this FDP.

The inaugural day featured two insightful sessions by distinguished speakers. Dr. Swati Lodha, Director of MET IOM, delivered the first session on \"Sustainability Challenges and Solutions in India Around Energy, Water, and Climate Change.\" She discussed the four pillars of sustainable development - Economic, Environmental, Social, and Cultural Sustainability - emphasizing the need for a balanced approach to ensure long-term sustainability.

The second session was led by Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey, Advisor at UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab, Paris, on \"Challenges and Opportunities in Achieving SDGs by 2030.\" Dr. Pandey provided a comprehensive overview of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting challenges in resource mobilization, policy coherence, and cross-sector collaboration.

On Day 2, Dr. Subramanya Kusnur, Founder Chairman & CEO of AquaKraft Ventures, delivered a session on the topic “Water Credit System: Financing Access to Clean Water for Sustainable Development.” He introduced the innovative concept of the world’s first water coin exchange, explaining how blockchain technology enables fractional ownership in water infrastructure.

Ms. Garima Jindal, an ecopreneur and Business Development Manager at The Recycling Company, delivered an insightful session on “Shaping India’s E-Waste Management.” She addressed the challenges of e-waste in India, emphasizing its environmental and health risks, and discussed sustainable practices like Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

On Day 3 two distinguished speakers shared their expertise on sustainability and energy innovation. Mr. Anuj Duggal, Advisor to NASSCOM and Sustainability Expert, delivered a session on the “ESG Framework and Sustainability Policies.” He discussed key ESG themes, linking environmental, social, and governance factors with traditional financial performance indicators for a holistic view of corporate health.

Dr. Totappa Hasarmani, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Savitribai Phule Pune University, presented on “Hybridization of Renewable Energy Resources for Sustainable Business Enterprises.” He showcased his research on energy-efficient jaggery units designed to meet combined heat and power (CHP) requirements, reduce GHG emissions, and safeguard the environment.

The participants gained valuable insights into integrating ESG frameworks, renewable energy solutions, and innovative approaches to sustainability challenges in India.

On Day 4, Mr. Abhinay Lakhmapure, Senior Manager of ERP Compliances, The Shakti Plastic Industries, delivered an engaging talk on \"Rethinking Plastic: A Path Toward Sustainable Solutions.\" His session emphasized the importance of waste-to-value approaches, focusing on the potential of recycled plastic products for a sustainable future.

In the session, \"Carbon Neutral Cities: Designing the Future of Urban Sustainability,\" Mr. Kumar Rajesh, Director, ENVFY Service Pvt. Ltd., explored strategies for creating carbon-neutral cities. He discussed the critical issues of carbon footprints, global warming, and climate change, and elaborated on carbon offset management techniques as a means to mitigate climate impacts.

At the end of the session, participants gained valuable insights into sustainable solutions for plastic waste management and strategies for designing carbon-neutral cities to mitigate climate change and promote urban sustainability.

On Day 5 the sessions were led by two distinguished experts: Mr. ALN Rao, Head of Electronics Circularity, Recykle, and Dr. Pratyush Panda, CEO, OneStage and MD, Collaborative Philanthropy Foundation.

Mr. ALN Rao delivered an insightful session on \"Innovating Energy Solutions for a Sustainable World,\" emphasizing the role of renewable technologies and efficient resource utilization in achieving sustainability. Drawing from his expertise, he highlighted actionable strategies to minimize electronic waste and promote a circular economy, bridging the gap between technological innovation and environmental conservation.

Dr. Pratyush Panda presented a session on \"Integrating CSR into Sustainability,\" exploring the synergy between corporate goals and sustainable development. He shared practical examples of CSR initiatives that drive social impact while supporting environmental stewardship. His session inspired participants to align corporate actions with global sustainability objectives, reinforcing the importance of ESG principles in today’s business landscape.

Day 6 Ms. Shalini Goyal Bhalla, Managing Director of the International Council for Circular Economy, shared insights on transitioning from linear to circular economic models, emphasizing reducing, reusing, and recycling. Meanwhile, Ms. Lenny Yusrini, Co-Director of Southeast Asia Research Academy, discussed sustainable tourism strategies that balance economic growth with ecological preservation.

Participants collaborated on real-world challenges, presenting innovative solutions for issues like renewable energy for SMEs, climate-resilient farming, and reducing air pollution, showcasing the program’s focus on actionable sustainability.

MET Utsav 2025, the mega annual cultural and sports fest of Mumbai Educational Trust (MET), themed ‘Indian Sanskriti’ reflecting the vibrant traditions, arts, and sporting spirit of the nation, has commenced with an electrifying spirit, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and sportsmanship. The much-anticipated intra-collegiate extravaganza, known for fostering energy, uniqueness, and camaraderie, began with Inauguration, Creativity Exhibition, Annual Sports Day on 1st February 2025 and will conclude with the Grand Finale on 8th February 2025. Meanwhile, the fest will feature series of event such as Competitions, Talent Show, Jatra, Workshops.

On 1st February, MET Utsav was inaugurated with a march past by students and staff, followed by a formal opening ceremony graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, and esteemed guest Ms. Pooja Surve, a renowned rhythmic gymnast.

Day 1: A Thrilling Kick-off with Annual Sports Day and Creativity Exhibition

The first day of MET Utsav 2025 set the stage for an action-packed festival with an array of outdoor and indoor sports competitions, reflecting India\'s rich sporting culture. Students and staff participated with great enthusiasm in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Lagori, Cricket, Rink Football, Ball Badminton, Dodgeball, and Tug of War, while indoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, and Chess saw intense competition.

Adding a creative dimension to the celebrations, the Creativity Exhibition showcased extraordinary artistic expressions, featuring sculptures, artifacts, sketching, illustrations, photography, and paintings. The exhibition was a visual treat, reflecting the imagination and artistic prowess of MET’s students and staff.

Day 2: High-spirited Competitions Unleash Talent

The second day of MET Utsav 2025 was filled with exciting competitions that challenged participants’ skills, creativity, and intellect. Events like Lupt Rasoi (Lost Indian Recipes), Chakravyuh (The Squid Saga), Heritage Hunt (Treasure Hunt), Shuddh Bhasha, Reel Ke Rangbaaz (Reel Making), and Nukkad Natak (Street Play) kept the energy high and the audience engaged. With enthusiastic participation from students and staff, each competition turned into a showcase of talent, strategy, and teamwork.

As MET Utsav 2025 continues, the excitement is only building up, promising more unforgettable moments.

Day 3: Talent Show - A Stage Lit with Talent and Enthusiasm

The third day of MET Utsav 2025 was all about showcasing incredible talent. The Talent Show featured mesmerizing singing, music, and stand-up performances, keeping the audience entertained throughout. The energy soared as students set the stage on fire with an electrifying band performance—so much so that even the judges couldn’t resist joining in!

During the performances, winners of various competitions were felicitated, celebrating their outstanding skills and achievements. The evening ended on a high note with a special performance by our mentors, who left the audience in awe.

Day 4: Jatra - A Celebration of Flavors and Festivities

The fourth day of MET Utsav 2025 was a fun-filled and unforgettable experience with Jatra, an event that brought together flavors, traditions, and joy. As part of the ‘Indian Sanskriti’ theme, each institute and department set up food stalls offering a delicious spread of Maharashtrian, Gujarati, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines. The vibrant setup, traditional décor, and mouth-watering dishes made it a perfect cultural delight.

The highlight of the day was the arrival of Bollywood sensation Vicky Kaushal, who stole the show with his presence, leaving students and faculty thrilled. His energy and charm added an extra layer of excitement to an already spectacular day!

Day 5: Enriching Workshops – Learning Beyond Classrooms

Day fifth of MET Utsav 2025 was a day of learning, creativity, and cultural exploration with a series of engaging workshops. Participants experienced the ancient art of Maharashtratil Sanskrutik Yudhkala (Traditional Self-Defence), learning age-old martial arts techniques. The Mitti Ka Jadu (Pottery) workshop allowed them to shape clay into artistic creations, while Naad Anubhuti (The Experience of Sound) offered a meditative and soothing experience through sound waves. The Dhyan aur Satarkta Satra (Meditation and Mindfulness) session guided participants in enhancing focus and inner peace. The Shringar Pratha (Traditional Adornment) workshop explored India’s rich tradition of beauty and adornment. Adding an adventurous touch, Nadi Pragamana (River Crossing) gave participants a thrilling experience of river-crossing techniques. Culinary enthusiasts enjoyed , where they explored the heritage of Indian flavors and cooking techniq Swad ki Virasat (True Taste of Tradition) ues. The Nritya Utsav (Festival of Dance) brought alive traditional dance forms with expert-led sessions, while the Drishyakala (Photography) workshop inspired budding photographers to master the art of visual storytelling. Aspiring actors refined their craft in the Abhinay Kala (Acting) workshop, and art lovers explored the intricate strokes of Warli Chitrakala (Warli Painting). The day concluded with Vrukshavalli Aamha Soyari (Gardening), an insightful session on organic gardening and sustainable practices. Each workshop blended knowledge with hands-on experiences, making it a truly enriching and memorable day for all!

Day 6 - Grand Finale of MET Utsav 2025 – A Spectacular Closing Night!

The final day of MET Utsav 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary! The Grand Finale brought together a fusion of electrifying performances, star-studded moments, and unforgettable memories.

The evening kicked off with soulful singing, dynamic dance performances, and hilarious stand-up acts, setting the stage on fire with high-energy entertainment. The prestigious MET Ratna & MET Gaurav Awards were presented by MET Founder Chairman Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, in the esteemed presence of Hon. MET Trustees Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Mr. Samir Bhujbal, Dr. Jitendra S. Wagh, and Mr. Subhash Sanas.

The event was further elevated by the presence of celebrity guests, including renowned Indian playback singer Jaspinder Narula, Bollywood actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Wamiqa Gabbi, Chetan Hansraj, Indian Film and Television actor and music composer Sidhant Kapoor, adding a touch of glamour to the night.

Adding to the excitement, a spectacular fashion show showcased the rich cultural heritage of India, with students presenting themes inspired by the epic stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

The audience was mesmerized by breathtaking acts, including aerial dance performances and a dazzling Bollywood dance sequence, marking a perfect conclusion to this grand celebration of talent, culture, and unity.

The workshop shed light on the pressing issues of climate change and water scarcity, both globally and locally. Renowned speakers discussed the water crisis in detail and explored potential solutions.

Green Clubs were encouraged to take a proactive approach by participating in UNICEF-sponsored courses, attending water conservation workshops, and utilizing the Why Waste Application. Additionally, the workshop included hands-on activities such as campus water audits, street plays, water conservation surveys, and campaign design.

Over 50 colleges attended this event, highlighting the growing interest in providing students with valuable hands-on training opportunities through NATS. MET Institute of Management successfully conducted Six-days ATAL-FDP program from 28th August – 3rd September on ‘Design Thinking for Teaching Learning Process and National Education Policy (NEP)’ that focused on equipping faculty members with the tools to create effective pedagogical tools aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET encouraged participants to refine their prototype and implement it in the classroom. The program was led by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, she emphasized the transformative potential of design thinking in education and guided participants through key stages of the design thinking process, including empathy, define, ideate, prototype, test and implement.

Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Umesh Rathod, Manager, IP & Technology Transfer, Indovation Centre, Western Region, who emphasized the importance of producing affordable and best products. Dr. Manmeet Barve, Associate Professor, MET IOM, discussed the key qualities of a design thinker and guided participants through the design thinking process. Mr. R.K Lawande, Founder, E4 Development Coaching Ltd., shared his insights on integrating design thinking principles into curriculum design to align with the NEP.

Other notable guests included Dr. Vinay Prabhu, Author and Ex-HOD Psychology, he stressed the significance of understanding students to tailor effective educational experiences, Ms. Manisha Phadke, Design Consultant and Educator; she highlighted the transformative power of design thinking in education and the importance of innovative learning strategies. Dr. Jimmy Jain, Forbes Contributor and Founder of SDTP, Square Sequel Consulting; focused on the user-centered approach and cautioned against the pitfalls of transference, Dr. Chitra Wadke, Associate Professor, MET PGDM; she advocated for the use of large group strategies and collaborative learning to enhance student engagement, Ms. Zoya Natterwala, AVP – Customer Experience & Design Thinking Master Practitioner, Square Sequel Consulting, she introduced the concept of HMW (How Might We) thinking and provided feedback on participant prototypes; Mr. Arvind Mishra, Senior Associate Consultant, Square Sequel Consulting; he emphasized the importance of effective storytelling and communication in design thinking.

Prof. Sudhakar Nadkarni, Guru of Design in India, advocated for students to understand the perspectives of both designers and users and emphasized the power of design thinking as a tool for gaining insights. Ms. Shilpa Vohra, Promoter Director, Marind Finvest, highlighted the leadership challenges in implementing innovative pedagogy and highlighted the importance of creating a supportive environment for teachers.

The program featured a field visit to IIT Bombay\'s Industrial Design Centre (IDC), where the participants witnessed first-hand the various prototyping facilities at the IDC, including the 3D printing process, Clay Styling Studio, Bamboo Laboratory, Metal Studio, Wood Studio, Plastic Studio, and Ceramic Studio. This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into the entire prototyping process, from ideation to final product development.

The ATAL-FDP concluded with a showcase of innovative prototypes developed by the participants. These prototypes were assessed by a panel of experts and demonstrated the potential for transformative teaching and learning practices. Overall, the program was a valuable experience for the participants and has the potential to significantly impact the future of education.
