IPR & Patents and Design Filing Workshop

MET IOM’s IIC in association with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Intellectual Property Management (RGNIIPM) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India organized an awareness session on ‘Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) & Patents and Design Filing’, under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), on 2nd December 2024 for the MMS Batch 2024-26.
The awareness session was conducted to spread the spirit of innovation and creativity among the students. During the event, Dr. Bharat Suryawanshi, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, RGNIIPM Nagpur, discussed the various laws around IPR, idea generation, implementation of IPR and its practical usage in the industry. In addition, awareness was created on the concept of patent protection, use and validity. In recognition of their active participation, students and faculty members received Certificate of Appreciation issued by the Government of India.
MET Academician Spearheads Workshop

Dr. Farida Virani spearheads the ‘Mediation and Conciliation Workshops’ with resounding success!
The workshops were sponsored by the International Conciliation and Arbitration Board under the Agakhan Foundation. Lead Faculty, Professor Dr. Farida Virani brought her expertise to guide participants through the intricacies of mediation and conciliation.
The workshop engaged a total of 60 participants across two batches, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives. Participants immersed themselves in full-time, 5-day residential workshops at Lonavala which were held between the 14th to 26th of March 2024. Each batch catered to specific demographics, ensuring relevance and effectiveness
MET Fest 2024 | A Showcase of Talent and Unity

MET Fest 2024 kicked off with grandeur and excitement as Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee of Mumbai Educational Trust, and Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, inaugurated the event amidst MET students, faculty, and staff. Over the course of three days, the festival showcased a diverse range of activities, including Creative Exhibitions, engaging Workshops, thrilling Competitions, a spectacular Talent Show, and an action-packed Sports Day.
The festival commenced with a Creative Exhibition displaying exceptional artworks by MET students, faculty, and staff. Workshops such as fashion photography, salad-making, and urban gardening provided hands-on learning experiences, promoting creativity, healthy living, and sustainability.
Day two witnessed innovative endeavors such as the Best out of Waste competition, where METizens showcased their creativity by transforming discarded materials into stunning creations. Additionally, participants challenged themselves at the Escape Room, testing their problem-solving skills and teamwork.
The highlight of MET Fest 2024 was the Talent Show, featuring mesmerizing performances ranging from classical dance invocations to sensational singing, showcasing the immense talent within the MET community.
The festival concluded on a high note with the inauguration of the Annual Sports Day, symbolizing unity, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence. As the torch was lit and flags unfurled, students and staff embraced the spirit of competition and camaraderie, making MET Fest 2024 a memorable celebration of creativity, talent, and athleticism.
Prof. Rohit receives Certificate of Appreciation

Mr. Rohit Mohite, Assistant Professor at MET Institute of Management, received a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for his role as the Active SPOC for the Local SWAYAM-NPTEL Chapter at MET IOM.
Prof. Rohit was recognized for his efforts in encouraging faculty and students to enrol in courses and providing support and guidance for seamless course completion. The certificate was presented by NPTEL Coordinator Dr. Andrew Thangaraj at the SPOC Workshop held at IIT Bombay on June 29, 2024. The SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter at MET IOM serves as a hub for promoting and managing various SWAYAM-NPTEL initiatives.
Adhyapan - The Transformation Hub 2023

MET Institute of Management, institutionalised student initiative, ‘Adhyapan - The Transformation Hub’ in 2022 under the guidance of Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET IOM. The initiative was established with the aim of developing competencies of underprivileged school students by providing them training and mentorship in the areas of Personality Development, Digital Literacy, Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge. It is an attempt to contribute socially towards the UN SDG 4 goal of Quality Education while actively engaging with the community around us.
Adhyapan commenced its session with students of Purushottam High School, Kherwadi, Bandra last year in 2022. In keeping with the theme, a new 16-member team visited the school and participated in Adhyapan activities. Four activities were carried out covering aspects of creativity, verbal aptitude and general aptitude. The School students were able to showcase their abilities and move up the learning curve by using chart paper, quizzes and talent shows.
Outbound Training for MMS 2023-25 Batch

MET Institute of Management\'s Aarohan, Induction Program for MMS 2023-25 Batch, included an exciting Outbound Training session from 22nd to 25th September 2023.
The students immersed themselves in a world of team-building and experiential learning activities during this event, honing their analytical and communication skills for personal and professional success. The management games provided them with hands-on experience in leadership, team dynamics, and problem-solving, all within the challenging context of uncertainty.
This Outbound Training was a transformative experience, preparing our future leaders for excellence in both their personal and professional lives.
HR Faculty leads Mediation Training in Australia!

MET Institute of Management’s HR Faculty leads Mediation Training in Australia!
Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET IOM was invited to lead The International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB) sponsored ‘Mediation Training’ in Sydney, Australia, which was a resounding success.
This five full days (26th - 30th September 2023) of training was aimed to empower nominated members to become effective mediators. Participants reported increased confidence in their mediation abilities and a greater understanding of the importance of peaceful conflict resolution. The workshop encouraged a sense of responsibility in contributing to a more harmonious society by resolving disputes constructively.
Attendees expressed their gratitude for Dr. Virani’s expertise and her ability to make complex concepts accessible and actionable. Her expertise and dedication to this cause had left a lasting impression on all participants, making this event a significant milestone in the pursuit of conflict resolution excellence.

\'Universal Human Values (UHV)’ Workshop

Universal Human Values (UHV)’ Workshop was conducted by Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET Institute of Management, during Aarohan - Induction Program for the MMS 2023-25 batch. It aimed at providing a profound exploration into the core values that define the essence of being \'Human\'. Through various activities, discussions, and reflections students were prompted to delve deeper and reflect on themselves, and their roles within the broader contexts of family, society, and the natural world.
This understanding encouraged them to appreciate the significance of balance and interconnectedness in fostering a harmonious existence. The final objective of the workshop was to instil a sense of commitment and courage to act upon their newfound insights and values.
We hope these future leaders embark on their educational and later corporate journeys with a sense of purpose, empathy, and commitment to positive change.

During the session on ‘Campus to Corporate Transition’, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of
Management felicitate the guests with commemorative mementos.
Dr. Lodha established the event’s foundation, highlighting the importance of the transition from

Dr. Jyotsna Munshi, Deputy Director of Placements at MET, kickstarted the dialogue by delving into
the transition of budding students into the world of corporations. The discourse orbited around the
inherent dynamism of the corporate realm and the paramount need for thorough groundwork.
At the forefront of the discussion stood the pivotal notion of charting a crystal-clear course for one’s
professional journey.

Collectively, our panelists unraveled a treasure trove of wisdom, equipping everyone with astute
strategies to navigate the ever-evolving corporate landscape.
5 Days International FDP

Under the aegis of Centre of Excellence - HR and in collaboration with Hadassah Foundation, MET Institute of Management conducted 5 days ‘International Faculty Development Program’ from 13th May 2023 - 18th May 2023.
Recognising the importance of training management faculties in enhancing their physical, mental and emotional well-being as a medium of improving and enhancing the overall progress of the institute and the academic fraternity, various sessions ranging from self-development, yoga and EQ were organised with subject experts.
The 5 days ‘International Faculty Development Program’ kick started with Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM addressing participants on the topic - ‘Excellence 360 degree’. She briefed the audience on techniques and methods that can be used for holistic excellence and progress. She shared models that can be used by individuals to excel while playing different roles in life.
Focussing on the importance of Yoga and Mental Health, Dr. Rashmi Bhadani, Certified Yoga Trainer, Yoga Vidya Gurukul, conducted an informative session on Yoga - A way of Life. She exposed the participants to the deep understanding of how to keep one’s body and mind composed during stressful times.
The focus of Day 2 of the International FDP was on understanding the concept of mindfulness through usage of words and language. Mr. Kwang Chun Kim, Instructor of International Mind Education Center & Manager IYF World Youth Camp conducted the session where he shared with participants learnings from the South Korean miracle in his session - Mindfulness - The Power of Words.
On Day 3, Dr. Harshada Mulay, ICF Certified Spiritual Intelligence Coach & Management Faculty at ITM Business School via her session ‘Transforming Life through NLP’ exposed participants to understanding the concept of NLP through usage of live activities. She integrated the usage of NLP in developing and enhancing student performance.
Dr. Farida Virani, Professor - HR & Behavioural Sciences, MET IOM & International Trainer led the session on ‘Happiness - A Choice’, a brief workshop on understanding the various nuances of happiness and ways to achieve through ideas such as gratitude, sincerity and apology. Through several demonstrations she emphasised on various aspects of happiness and deepened the participants\' understanding on the same.
The International FDP ended on 18th May, 2023 with an interesting session by Mr. Ambuj Jain, Coach with ICF approved training Member of Association of Mumbai Coaches (AMC) on ‘EQ - Understanding & Managing Emotions’, Mr. Jain exposed the participants present to a thorough decoding and understanding of the term ‘Emotions’, thereby building an understanding on ways to improve ‘Emotional Quotient’ by understanding and managing one’s emotions.
Industrial Visit of MMS 2022 -24

On 10th and 11th April 2023, MET Institute of Management organised an industrial visit for the MMS 2022–24 batch in Nashik to give students a hands-on experience of marketing, operations, employee relations, and several other corporate world facets. Visits to three businesses, namely Epiroc India, Sahyadri Farms and Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd., were included in the two action-packed days
During their visit to Epiroc India, students were exposed to the working of the heavy engineering industry and manufacturing of innovative mining equipment and gained understanding of the services provided. Visit to Sahyadri Farms exposed students to the working of the agro-technology industry, one of the growing industries in India. And the final visit to Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd. enhanced students\' understanding of the food processing and manufacturing industry.
The Industrial Visit helped students gain a better understanding of business concepts taught in the classroom. It gave them the opportunity to interact with industry professionals and observe the use of cutting-edge tools and technology in the business world for problem-solving and efficiency enhancement
