A training program on EBSCO host was arranged for the students of MMS semester II from 25th to 27th February, 2019.

EBSCO is the leading provider of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, e-books and discovery service to libraries of all kinds. For over 70 years, we’ve partnered with libraries to improve research with quality content and technology.

MET has subscribed for EBSCO host database which students can use for their research projects and assignments They can download ebooks, research papers , journals, etc. from the EBSCO host data base in the computer lab.

Often employees face challenges in written communication, while interacting within and outside the organisation and this either makes or mars their reputation. To address these issues, Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, Communication and Soft Skills expert, MET IOM conducted a month long series of workshops for employees of White Media Rivers in April 2019. The sessions were directed towards enhancing their writing skills and covered hands-on tips on how to make one’s writing clear and impactful. Through varied assignments that were a part of the workshops, Dr. Shirodkar guided the participants on how to build on their areas of strengths and offered valuable suggestions to iron out their weaknesses.

Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, Communication and Soft Skills Expert, MET IOM, conducted a workshop on Effective Drafting Skills, on 26^th March, 2019, for the administrative staff and office assistants of the SIES Group of Institutions. The participants were given useful tips, on how to flawlessly draft varied kinds of documents, used during their day to day functioning. The interactive session helped to hone the drafting skills of the participants, thereby instilling a level of confidence in them.

Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, Communication and Soft Skills expert at MET conducted a training programme for employees of Bhavana Televentures on 15th March, 2019. Her presentation bearing the title Acquiring Communication Etiquette for Organisational Success touched upon the importance of following communication etiquette and also helped unravel certain myths related to etiquette, in the professional world.

A Workshop, bearing the title Gaining Effectiveness in Written Communication, was conducted by Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, Communication and Soft Skills expert from MET’s Schools of Management, for Senior Managers and Managers of National Dairy Development Board, (NDDB) on 20th February, 2019. The workshop was attended by 30 participants and helped in contextualising the importance of effective communication, in day-to-day functioning.

Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, HR and Behavioral Sciences, MET Institute of Management, delivered the Mediation and Conciliation Training Programme (MCTP) to the national and regional members for CAB USA at the Miller Ward Alumni House at Emory University in Atlanta USA. The MCTP was delivered under the aegis of the Ismaili International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB). The ICAB\'s flagship 40-hour MCTP is delivered by leading Ismaili mediation professionals and trainers to over 700 CAB members around the world every three years.

Dr. Farida Virani was invited to conduct a workshop on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace with an objective to orient and educate their top management towards creating a safe working culture. The workshop focused on providing a fundamental understanding of the PoSH Law, enabling Sahyadri Farms to be compliant while creating a sensitized workforce.

Dr. Farida Virani has accepted the request to be a part of the Internal Complaints Committee - ICC at Sahyadri Farms.

Dr. Farida Virani introduced the concept of ‘Human Centered Design Thinking’ through a workshop and mentored projects for Management students at MET – Institute of Management – Mumbai. A student commented, “This is project has actually equipped us with unique skills. It taught us how to think and not what to think. We have gained insights to rely on the human ability to be intuitive, to recognize patterns, and to construct ideas that are emotionally meaningful as well as functional”.

Dr. Farida Virani was engaged for a three day workshop held at Saputara to help ‘Demystify the Sahyadri Culture’ Sahyadri Farms, the farmer producer company (FPC) set up in 2011, has grown to become the largest FPC in the country, with a membership of 8,000 farmers and a turnover of Rs 300 crore. Vision, Mission and Core values were revisited with focussed clarity along with their interpretations and impact on stakeholders, systems, processes, everyday activities and decision making.

Dr. Preeti Shirodkar, Communication and Soft Skills Expert at MET Institute of Management conducted a workshop on ‘Speaking Confidently’ at Dr. BMN College on 18^th December, 2018. The workshop was conducted for the office bearers of the Students’ Council and comprised of a talk & demonstrations, on overcoming nervousness and maintaining fluency while speaking in public. Students participated enthusiastically in the workshop, applying the tips given by Dr. Shirodkar while addressing their classmates during the exercises that were part of the workshop.

Literature Expert and an Author, Dr. Preeti Shirodkar delivered the power-packed session highlighting the importance of developing soft skills! Drawing upon close to 25 years of teaching and training MBAs and Mass Media students, Dr. Shirodkar’s mentoring sure enriched these corporate India members. B-School faculty indeed makes a difference, weather on-campus or off-campus!

A Mutual Fund Awareness Workshop for MMS 2nd year students was conducted on 09th August, 2018 at MET in the presence of dignitaries. Distinguished Guest Speaker, Mr. Ashok Kumar who is known as ‘The IPO Guru’ in the Indian Electronic and Print Media shared immensely beneficial insights. His opinions feature in the International Herald Tribune and the Asian Wall Street Journal besides many business television channels. Interacting with a professional of his stature was an amazing opportunity for the MBA students of MET Institute of Management.
