Mock Fire Drill at MET

Mumbai Educational Trust conducted a comprehensive mock firefighting exercise on July 24, 2024, to strengthen emergency preparedness across the campus. The session was led by Mr. Sujeet Prabhughate, a fire safety expert, and saw active participation from faculty and students.
Mr. Prabhughate provided hands-on training in operating firefighting equipment, following proper evacuation protocols, and ensuring clear communication during emergencies. Participants practiced safe evacuation procedures and extinguishing controlled fires, gaining valuable real-world experience and confidence.
This educational initiative reinforced the importance of fire safety awareness and ensured that the MET community is better prepared to respond effectively to potential emergency situations.
Outbound Training 2024

MET Institute of Management organized its annual Outbound Training Program for the newly inducted MMS 2024-26 Batch students from 29th September to 1st October 2024. The Outbound Training Program aimed to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and essential managerial skills.
The program provided experiential learning through outdoor activities to enhance soft skills crucial for professional success, such as communication, leadership, teamwork, planning, and delegation.
Management games, including picture puzzles, stick arrangements, riddle-solving (e.g., river crossing), and carnival-themed games like hula hoop and treasure hunts, fostered strategic thinking and collaboration. These activities helped students develop key managerial competencies, promoting self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative mindset.
The Outbound Training Program was a foundational experience, equipping students with practical skills that bridged theoretical knowledge and real-world application, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Outreach Program in Schools and Community

As a part of MET IOM’s IIC Calendar Event, Outreach Program in Schools and Community, students of MMS Batch 2023-25, Nagesh Sutrave, Kush Dave, Riddhi Laddha, Akshada Shinde, and Kavita Yadav volunteered to conduct the training program on the three days along with Dr. Manmeet Barve, IIC Convenor, MET IOM IIC and Mr. Shailesh Sargade, Start-Up Coordinator, MET IOM IIC, co-facilitated the Changemaker Labs for Schools event, held from June 10th to 12th, 2024, at Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini in Uttan, Bhayandar, Thane. Approximately 100 teachers participated in the training program designed specifically for the teachers of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation schools. The training program was sponsored by Connecting Dreams Foundation, Ashoka, Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Bharat Petroleum, and Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation.
The three-day workshop aimed to equip the teachers with the necessary skills to be changemakers in their respective domains. Beginning with an introduction to core concepts, participants engaged in activities ranging from ideation sessions to a Bag Making Challenge, culminating in final presentations and a closing ceremony. The training program’s comprehensive approach fostered both theoretical understanding and practical application thereby empowering teachers to enact positive changes within their schools and communities.
Industrial Visit to Adani Thermal Power Plant

MET Institute of Management organised an Industrial visit to Adani Thermal Power Plant, Dahanu on 30th January 2024 for MMS Batch 2023-25. The visit to the Thermal Plant exposed students to the complexities of managing industrial operations. The students were able to gain first-hand experience in observing the coordination required between engineering, logistics, maintenance, and safety departments to ensure seamless operations in the industrial operations sector.
This visit helped students gain an understanding of industrial operations as a career option. The successful completion of a thermal power plant visit offered not only invaluable hands-on experience in the management of industrial operations but also helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Process and Prototype Design and Development

Innovation Ambassadors of MET IOM’s IIC, Ms. Ria Patnaik and Mr. Rohit Mohite conducted a Workshop on ‘Process and Prototype Design and Development’ for Mentee college, Sasmira’s Institute of Management Studies and Research on 16th April 2024.
The workshop aimed to equip the mentee college with practical insights and tools to foster innovation within its ecosystem. Ms. Patnaik focussed on the concepts and understanding of Process Design, emphasising the importance of a structured approach in transforming ideas into tangible solutions. Mr. Mohite shared his expertise in the field of Prototype Design and Development. He exposed students to the iterative nature of prototyping, stressing the significance of user feedback in refining solutions iteratively.
The Workshop fostered an environment of collaboration and experimentation, encouraging participants to apply newfound knowledge in simulated scenarios.
Workshop on Prototype Process Design and Development

MET IOM’s IIC organised its IIC Calendar Event – ‘Workshop on Prototype / Process Design and Development’ on 12th April 2024 for its MMS Batch 2023-25. The session was conducted by Mr. Rohit Mohite, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Management.
The workshop aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the process of prototype development and process design. Mr. Mohite introduced concepts of iterative design, emphasising the importance of feedback loops and continuous improvement in refining prototypes and processes.
The participants gained hands-on experience in prototyping techniques, process mapping, and iterative design methodologies, enhancing their practical skills and confidence in tackling real-world challenges.
Workshop on IPRs and IP Management for Start-Up

MET IOM’s IIC organised its IIC Calendar Event - ‘Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Start-Up’ on 14th April 14 2024 for its MMS Batch 2023-25. The session was conducted by Mr. Sandesh Akre, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Management.
The workshop aimed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge about Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and their significance in startup ventures. The session provided practical insights and tools for effective IP management tailored to the needs of startup ventures.
The participants gained a deeper understanding of various forms of IPRs such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, along with their applications in startup ecosystems. They acquired strategic insights into developing robust IP management frameworks tailored to the specific needs and challenges of startups.
POSH training with Dr. Virani

Dr. Farida Virani, Professor - HR and Behavioral Sciences Expert, MET IOM, and a certified POSH trainer, conducted a comprehensive workshop on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) at MET Institute of Management.
Her expert guidance benefited over 200 management students, providing them with a deeper understanding of legal frameworks, behavioral expectations, and strategies for creating safe and inclusive workplaces. Through engaging discussions using real-world scenarios and corporate examples, she fostered meaningful learning and equipped participants to effectively address POSH issues.

Financial Literacy & Security Workshop

Under the aegis of Centre of Excellence - HR, MET Institute of Management organised a workshop on ‘Financial Literacy and Security’ for the MMS Batch 2023-25 in March 2024. The workshop was conducted by financial professionals Mr. Brijesh Gupta, Regional Manager; Ms. Sudha Gupta, Regional Training Manager and Mr. Amit Nawale, Branch Head, Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd. The interactive workshop aimed to provide students with essential insights into managing their finances effectively, thereby paving the way for a secure future and stable life.
Throughout the workshop, students actively participated, gaining practical skills and understanding to make informed financial decisions. It provided a platform for students to enhance their financial literacy and equipped them with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of the financial world thus fostering a culture of responsibility and prudence toward financial management.
The Voice Inside

MET Institute of Management in collaboration with Toastmasters Club hosted a workshop around the theme ‘The Voice Inside’. The workshop began with an engaging demonstration by MET Alumni Mr. Mayur Kotak, Division Director, Toastmasters International.
Toastmasters Team, Mr. Mayur Kotak as Presiding Officer, Mr. Lawrence Mohan as Speech Evaluator, Mr. Hardik Shah as General Evaluator, Mr. Jason Enamakel as Toastmaster of the day, and Ms. Dhanishtha Arora as Prepared Speaker, were welcomed by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM.
Students actively participated in the workshop by taking on various meeting roles, Ms. Mallaika Chauhan as the Grammarian, Mr. Ayush Jaiswal as the Ah Counter, and Akshay Pandhare as the Timer. The activities and session focused on building public speaking confidence, enhancing audience engagement, developing unique speaking styles, mastering time management, polishing soft skills, and understanding the importance of validation.
This insightful workshop empowered students with the communication skills and self-belief, a key factor for success in both personal and professional endeavours.
Self-Defence Workshop: Empowering Students

The Women Development and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Committee of MET Institute of Management conducted a Self-Defence Workshop for MMS students on 20th March 2024, aiming to enhance their safety and confidence in challenging situations, both locally and globally. The workshop was focused on imparting practical life skills and strategies, and was led by Mr. Jayant Satghare, A Martial Arts Expert with a black belt.
Participants enthusiastically engaged in the workshop, acquiring essential techniques like situational awareness, basic strikes, and effective defence postures. Mr. Jayant emphasised on quick thinking in threat scenarios and developing leadership skills in group settings.
The workshop significantly contributed to the female students\' holistic development, boosting their confidence and equipping them with essential skills to handle real-life situations with resilience and assertiveness.
