MET Institute of Management is pleased to announce that Mr. Sandesh Akre, Assistant Professor, MET IOM, and Mr. Rohit Mohite, Assistant Professor, MET IOM under the guidance of Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM have successfully secured joint copyright registration for their research project titled \"GIS-Based Warehouse Location Tracking Using Python.\"

This work applies GIS technology to improve warehouse location tracking, optimize logistics, and enhance operational efficiency. This achievement reflects the Institute’s focus on fostering research and practical solutions through collaborative efforts.

MET Institute of Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Business Leadership League (BLL). The MoU aims to bridge the gap between academia and the industry by connecting successful entrepreneurs with students. It will allow students to gain additional perspective and seek clarity thereby enhancing their employability quotient and corporate readiness.

The collaboration will provide a supportive network to increase visibility and provide access to various resources, new age services and learning opportunities.

The MMS students of MET Institute of Management, Ms. Vidisha Ghosh, Ms. Punam Rathod, Mr. Amish Sah with Mentor Faculty Mr. Shailesh Sargade attended Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp Phase-II organised by AICTE and MOE\'s Innovation Cell, hosted by Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Over the course of five days, the bootcamp featured sessions on various aspects crucial for start-ups\' success, such as Design Thinking, Human-Centered Approach to Opportunity Discovery, Competitive Advantage and Differentiation Strategies, Building Sustainable Business Models, Digital Presence for Start-ups, and Grants and Funding Opportunities.

MET Institute of Management is delighted to announce that students from MMS Batch 2023-25, Anish Kumar Singh, Amish Gangaram Sah, Vidisha D. Ghosh, Om Khattar, Anuj Joshi, and (MMS Batch 2024-26) Vivek Sanjay Pawar, have been shortlisted for the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024, a prestigious nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE.

The SIH provides students a platform to tackle real-world problems and develop innovative solutions. The team, along with their mentors, Dr. Swati Lodha, President, MET IOM’s IIC, Dr. Manmeet Barve, Vice President, MET IOM’s IIC and Mr. Shailesh Sargade, Convenor, MET IOM’s IIC will participate in the grand finale of the Software Edition on December 11th and 12th, 2024.

The students will present their functional prototype under the theme \"Nagrik Aur Samvidhan.\" The objective of their project is to create a gamified platform designed to simplify and promote constitutional literacy among Indian citizens.

MET Institute of Management, under its Social and Sustainability Committee and Green Club, has implemented an innovative and eco-friendly practice to promote environmental sustainability. Flowers used during the sacred Satyanarayan Pooja were repurposed through composting to create nutrient-rich fertilizer for the campus gardens.

This initiative not only reduced waste but also enriched the soil naturally, reflecting the Institute\'s commitment to sustainable development. The transformation of ceremonial flowers into organic compost served as a powerful example of how small, thoughtful actions can have a significant environmental impact.

This scalable initiative can be adopted by local communities, such as nearby BMC wards, to foster greener and more sustainable neighborhoods.

MMS (HR) students of Batch 2023-25 from MET Institute of Management participated in a distinguished workshop on Workplace Inclusion and Disability Rights in India, organized by Godrej DEI Lab in collaboration with Khaitan & Co. Ltd. on 3rd December 2024, at Godrej One, Vikhroli. The event focused on fostering workplace inclusion, equity, and diversity, and featured a panel of esteemed industry leaders, HR professionals, and inspirational personalities.

Prominent speakers and seasoned professionals, including Mr. Parmesh Shahani, Head of Godrej DEI Lab; Mr. Pushkar Pendse, Deputy General Manager - Systems, Godrej Agrovet; Ms. Madhavi Lata, National Para-Swimming Champion; Ms. Aradhana Lal, Senior Vice President - Sustainability & ESG, Lemon Tree Hotels; Ms. Ananya Sharma, Group General Counsel, JSW Steel; Zoya, DEI Lead, GPL; and Ms. Arva Merchant, Partner, Khaitan & Co., shared insights into implementing structured training programs, achieving inclusion targets, and driving actionable strategies for workplace inclusivity. The launch of a comprehensive handbook on disability rights by Godrej and Khaitan & Co. was a key highlight, offering practical guidance for HR professionals to promote inclusivity.

MET Institute of Management is proud to contribute to a greener future! We are currently repurposing flower waste from the recent Satyanarayan Puja into valuable compost fertilizer, thanks to the innovative composting technology provided by the BMC.

The state-of-the-art composting machine utilizes rotating drums with perforated walls to ensure optimal aeration and accelerate the decomposition process. This sustainable initiative not only reduces waste but also produces a natural and nutrient-rich fertilizer for our campus gardens.

On 22nd October 2024, MET Incubation Centre held a meeting with Mr. Uditha Bandara, Founder and CEO of Bluechip Technologies Asia, Sri Lanka, to discuss importance of AI-based technologies and mentoring startups in promoting innovation for sustainability

Recognizing that AI’s role in supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is crucial - whether in optimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, or developing solutions for environmental sustainability - this collaboration will enable the startups at the MET Incubation Centre to harness AI for innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.

MET Institute of Management hosted the Annual Alumni Meet on 19th October 2024, honoring the accomplishments of its distinguished alumni. The event was attended by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM; Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean of Academics, MET IOM; faculty members, students, and esteemed guests.

Dr. Rashmi Bhadani, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Management, was invited as a jury member for MUNIJAN, a prestigious state-level competition organized by Mumbai University in collaboration with Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). Held annually on Gandhi Jayanti, MUNIJAN focused on addressing current social issues, with this year\'s theme being \"Transforming Communities through Education and Skill Development. During the competition, students presented their innovative ideas, each addressing the challenges faced by communities in the area of education and skill development. The eight participating teams showcased their creativity and understanding of the issues, proposing well-researched, practical solutions.

Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET IOM and Head, MET Incubation Centre, was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development (NFED) on 5th September 2024 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
