Mumbai Educational Trust launched its initiative ‘MET Incubation Centre’ on 9th November 2023. The grand inauguration was held in the hand of Mr. Erik af Hallstrom, Consul General, Consulate General of Finland, in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, MET, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management, CA Dr. Shyamsundar Das, Director, MET Institute of PGDM, Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET IOM, as well as distinguished entrepreneurs, dignitaries and esteemed faculty members.

The MET Incubation Centre has been designed to nurture entrepreneurial spirit and innovation amongst the students. This dynamic hub will serve as a launchpad for aspiring entrepreneurs, providing them with invaluable resources, mentorship & networking opportunities while inspiring many to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship.

MET Institute of Management hosted a memorable Alumni Meet on October 7th, 2023, with the theme \'Reconnect, Relive, and Rejoice.\' The event kicked off with a lamp lighting ceremony in the presence Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM, dignitaries, faculty members and Alumni. The highlight of the event was the 3rd edition of \'MET IOM Alumni Excellence Awards,\' honoring alumni for their outstanding contributions to the industry. Winners were quite nostalgic and excited at the same time while receiving the awards and expressed their immense gratitude to MET for helping them shape their career paths. It was a heartwarming and entertaining evening, featuring talent showcased by current MMS students.

Mr. Akhilesh Bhargava, Director, AVI Global Plast Private Limited, (MMS Alumni Batch 1995-97) was felicitated with ChangeMaker Award 2023. Mr. Balachandran S, Head - Investment Advisory, Trust Group, (MMS Alumni Batch 1997-99) was felicitated with Excellence in Finance & Economics 2023. Ms. Shreeya Joshi, Business HR Manager, CRISIL, (MMS Alumni Batch 2012-14) and Mr. Rohan Desai, Human Resource Manager, HDFC Bank, (MMS Alumni Batch 2012-14) were felicitated with Excellence in Human Resource 2023. Mr. Divyesh Panchal, Founder, D2P Consultancy, (MMS Alumni Batch 2009-11) and Ms. Priyanka Asher, General Manager HR, Karza Technologies Pvt Ltd, (MMS Alumni Batch 2010-12) were felicitated with Emerging Leader Award 2023. Mr. Saurabh Karve, Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, JioCinema, (MMS Alumni Batch 2012-14), was felicitated with Alma Mater Contributor Award 2023. Mr. Santosh Bilgi, Head - Commercial Strategy, Planning and Research, DHL Express, (MMS Alumni Batch 2001- 03) and Ms. Nishita Godambe, Senior Media Consultant, MediaSense, (MMS Alumni Batch 2008-10), was felicitated with Excellence in Marketing 2023.

Uniting for a Life-Saving Cause!

MET Institute of Management proudly hosted the \'Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI) Drive\' on 21st September 2023. MDRI, a dedicated non-profit organisation, a Tata Project and registered with the Charity Commissioner of Greater Mumbai, is on a mission to bridge the gap between patients and potential life-saving stem cell or bone marrow donors. This initiative offers hope to individuals battling with leukemia, lymphoma, and other life-threatening blood diseases.

An incredible 285 students stepped forward, voluntarily registering as potential stem cell transplant donors. Together, we are making a profound impact and saving lives!

Ms. Grishma Agarwal, MMS 2022-24 Student, MET Institute of Management, garnered acclaim as she unveiled her research masterpiece during the National Research Conference hosted by the GNVS Institute of Management, Mumbai. Her compelling paper titled “What Makes Millennials Working Women Financially Literate?” delved deep into the factors shaping financial literacy among this dynamic demographic. Notably, her outstanding work earned her the prestigious Best Research Paper Award at the conference.

MET Institute of Management is proud to announce about MMS students team ‘AGRICOS’, who bagged 2nd runner-up position at ‘AGVENTURE’ - Agri based B-Plan Competition organised by Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management (SIOM), Nasik.

The B-Plan competition consisted of 3 rounds, a Quiz, Submission of a detailed Business Plan & Presentation to the panel. Team AGRICOS presented a solar dryer as a key product to reduce agri waste in rural areas. During the competition, students showcased their inner Agripreneur by applying management concepts for starting, organising and managing business initiatives in the agricultural sector. The able guidance of Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Dr. Nirmala Joshi, Head - Research & MET SEVA, MET IOM and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Associate Professor, MET IOM helped the students in their competition.

MET Institute of Management is pleased to announce that Mr. Vaibhav Mojidra & Mr. Shubham Jadhav, Students, MMS Batch 2022-24 secured the second position in the Research Paper Competition organised by Dhanwate National College, Nagpur on 22nd - 23rd December 2022.

The research paper was prepared by the students on the topic, ‘Impact of Russia-Ukraine War on World Economy’ under the guidance of Dr. Sagar Gaikwad, Assistant Professor, MET IOM.

As a dedicated participant in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Social Cause and Sustainability Committee of MET Institute of Management, under the aegis of MET Seva, enthusiastically joined forces for a meaningful cause.

On 1st October 2023, 30 dedicated student volunteers, alongside BMC Eco-warriors, rolled up their sleeves for the Juhu beach cleanup drive. Their unwavering commitment was evident as they diligently cleared plastic debris and litter, paving the way for a cleaner and healthier environment.

At MET, we take immense pride in contributing to this noble initiative, with our primary goal being to raise awareness about the critical importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Our collective efforts not only played a significant role in preventing sea pollution and safeguarding marine life but also served as a powerful reminder to both our youthful participants and the wider public about responsible waste disposal and the imperative to protect our coastal ecosystems.

Dr. Sagar Gaikwad, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Management presented a paper in the International Commerce and Management Conference on ‘Local to Global Perspective of Business & Finance, Trade & Commerce, Economic Turbulence & Private Capital, Education & Society: A Multidisciplinary Approach’ organised by Department of Commerce, University of Mumbai on 10th March 2023.

Dr. Gaikwad received the best paper presentation award for his research paper on ‘Impact of Work Engagement on its Outcome: Contextualising Job Demand - Resource Model and Person Organisation Fit’. The research focussed on developing new theories related to work engagement and productivity.

MET Institute of Management is glad to share that Mr. Pratik Aher, Student, MMS 2022-24 has been selected as a beneficiary of \'Yuva Sangam’ Programme, an initiative by the Government of India under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) organised by IIIT Nagpur and Ministry of Education. Mr. Pratik Aher is one among the top 50 candidates out of 1200 applicants for a week long trip to Manipur under this programme.

In order to strengthen the people to connect and build empathy between youth from North Eastern States and the rest of India, Ministry of Education, Govt of India has launched ‘Yuva Sangam’ programme under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

During the trip, Mr. Pratik along with other selected students will have multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas - Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect). In addition to this, various interactions with industrial bodies like FICCI, CM, etc.; interactions at Raj Bhawan, CM office, interactions with MSMEs, startup entrepreneurs, artists, singers, sportspersons, musicians, SHGs, NGOs, etc. will also be arranged as a part of the tour to enrich their overall experience.

Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management was awarded the ‘Innovative Leader Award’ at the 15th Innovative Education Leadership Awards organised by Stars of the Industry Awards on 17th February 2023. She was bestowed this recognition for infusing innovation and freshness in the domain of education.

MET Institute of Management signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘India Blockchain Forum’, a confluence of thought leaders and key influencers. India Blockchain Forum is spearheaded with a mission of making India a blockchain powerhouse by building an environment for collaboration between multiple stakeholders in the Web 3.0 ecosystem.

The MoU was signed by both parties with an objective of building collaborations that help MET IOM create Web 3.0 Centre of Excellence and conduct Knowledge events relevant for nurturing the ecosystem. This collaboration with IBF will allow support for student startups in terms of discovery, collaboration, market access etc. and skill development programs on emerging technologies such as Web3 and blockchain for faculty and students. In addition to this, the MoU will allow Academia Connect, Networking and Creation of repository of cases that can be used across industry verticals to help bring awareness and learning in the public domain.

The students from MET Institute of Management participated in ‘FinQuest’- The annual PAN India Case study competition hosted by IIM Bodh Gaya. The participants were to make their way through the quiz, case study and presentations as the competition unfolded. The competition required participants to use their Analytical skills, Business and Finance acumen.

Amongst the top B-Schools who participated in the competition, Ms. Akansha Rani & Ms. Kamya Shetty, Student, MMS 2022-24 finished as first runner-up. MET Congratulates the winners for their exemplary performance!
