On 28th of February, 2025, MET Institute of Mass Media organised a captivating field visit to The Indian Express Pvt Ltd, offering PGP MCMM students a firsthand look into the dynamic world of newspaper production.
The visit was not only an opportunity for students to witness the intricate process of newspaper making, but also an eye-opener to the immense effort and passion that fuels the industry. It highlighted how the press remains a cornerstone of information dissemination, thriving with hard work and dedication.
Students had the chance to explore various departments within the press, gaining insights into the roles and responsibilities of each team. From editorial to printing, they learned about the collaboration and contributions that ensure newspapers reach every corner of the country.
Overall, it was a highly experiential visit, enriching the knowledge of Media students and providing them with a deeper understanding of the media industry\'s workings.

MET Institute of Mass Media proudly welcomed its accomplished alumnus, Mr. Tejas Rane, as a guest speaker during the Induction Week for the Post Graduate Program in Mass Communication and Media Management (PGP MCMM 2025–26).
With over 10 years of experience in the media industry, Mr. Rane has extensively covered major sports events across India and abroad. His career spans notable stints with Mid-Day, Network18, and Outlook India Magazine, where he has interviewed renowned sports personalities including Jonty Rhodes, Dinesh Lad, and Ajinkya Rahane.
Invited to speak on “Careers in Modern Journalism and Sports as a Growing Sector in Media†Mr. Rane shared his journey from a media student to a respected sports journalist. He highlighted how the sports media ecosystem has evolved with digital transformation, live streaming, and the increasing role of analytics in storytelling.
Mr. Rane emphasized the importance of credibility, speed, and adaptability in modern journalism while shedding light on emerging opportunities in sports content, athlete branding, and multimedia reporting. Through anecdotes from his interviews and field experiences, he inspired students to pursue meaningful careers in journalism with a focus on passion-driven reporting.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a series of vibrant events across its campuses. The grand flag-hoisting ceremony was graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, along with Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, Mumbai Education Trust, and Guest of Honour Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retired Deputy General of Police. The presence of our esteemed Institute Directors, Principals, and Heads made the occasion truly memorable. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour, reminding us of the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility towards our nation.
Adding to the spirit of the day, MET Rishikul Vidyalaya hosted a vibrant cultural celebration that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of its students. The event featured a House-wise Music Competition, artistic mosaics honouring freedom fighters, patriotic dance performances by Primary students, and a thought-provoking roleplay by AS & A Level students, depicting conversations between freedom fighters and today’s youth. Students from Pre-Primary to AS Levels participated with great zeal, making the celebration both inspiring and memorable.
The day was a true reflection of MET’s commitment to nurturing values of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. As the Tricolour fluttered high, every heart resonated with the promise to uphold the spirit of freedom.

World of VFX
Mumbai Educational Trust organised a guest lecture about the \'World of VFX\' in collaboration with Incube8 and Fractal Picture for the students of MET Asian Management Development Centre (MET AMDC), MET Institute of Computer Science (MET ICS), MET Institute of Mass Media (MET IMM) and MET Institute of Information Technology (MET IIT) on 4th February 2023.
The Incube8 team was welcomed by Mr. Sapan Shrestha, Project Manager, Fractal Picture, MET AMDC Alumni Mr. Aijaz Rashid, Business Head - VFX and Commercials, Fractal Picture, Mr. Behram Patel, Python Developer, Fractal Picture and MET IMM Alumni Ms. Ritika Doshi, Digital Operations Manager, BabyG App.
The guests were felicitated by Dr. Sangeeta Tondon, Director, MET AMDC, Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS, Mr. Sanjay Sakharkar, Director, MET IMM and Mr. Nitin Patil, Course Coordinator - DACA, MET IIT.
The Incube8 team initiated a presentation on the differences between Computer Graphics and delved into the world of VFX. Mr. Rashid demonstrated how VFX is used in TV commercials and ran a showreel of their prestigious work in the industry. Mr. Soni explained the VFX process & its stages and how students are trained at Incube8. Mr. Shrestha presented their company’s infrastructure and training facilities. Mr. Patel discussed the importance of Python coders in VFX work and why they need it in the industry. Lastly, Ms. Doshi shared her experience with the Fractal Picture.
The students of DACA showcased their Animation projects. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Banubakode.
