On 24th September, MET Institute of Computer Science proudly organised an Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 for MCA students.

A total of 12 passionate teams came together to showcase their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork through innovative project ideas. This internal round served as a platform to prepare students for the National-level SIH, encouraging them to think big and build impactful solutions for real-world challenges.

On the 5th and final day of the 5-day Faculty Development Programme conducted by MET CET, Dr. Chitra Wadke, Head, MET CET, led a session on Innovative Assessment.

The session highlighted how assessments can go beyond measuring knowledge to nurturing creativity, deeper learning, and holistic student growth—reflecting MET’s commitment to progressive teaching practices and academic excellence.

On 18th August, 2025 a guest lecture on Digital Transformation and Analytics was organized at Nava Samaj Mandal Degree College Campus. The session was conducted by Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Associate Professor, MET ICS who shared valuable insights on how digital technologies are reshaping industries and the importance of data-driven decision-making.

He explained how analytics supports innovation, efficiency, and strategic growth in various fields. Students actively participated and gained a better understanding of emerging digital tools and their real-world applications. The event proved highly informative, encouraging students to embrace digital skills for future career opportunities.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a series of vibrant events across its campuses. The grand flag-hoisting ceremony was graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, along with Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, Mumbai Education Trust, and Guest of Honour Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retired Deputy General of Police. The presence of our esteemed Institute Directors, Principals, and Heads made the occasion truly memorable. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour, reminding us of the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility towards our nation.

Adding to the spirit of the day, MET Rishikul Vidyalaya hosted a vibrant cultural celebration that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of its students. The event featured a House-wise Music Competition, artistic mosaics honouring freedom fighters, patriotic dance performances by Primary students, and a thought-provoking roleplay by AS & A Level students, depicting conversations between freedom fighters and today’s youth. Students from Pre-Primary to AS Levels participated with great zeal, making the celebration both inspiring and memorable.

The day was a true reflection of MET’s commitment to nurturing values of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. As the Tricolour fluttered high, every heart resonated with the promise to uphold the spirit of freedom.

MCA 2nd-year students of MET Institute of Computer Science participated in a 2-day Industry Visit to Nashik on 23rd & 24th July 2025. They explored establishments including Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd., Nashik Transformer Industries, and Copper Track Industries

This industry visit provided valuable exposure to real-world manufacturing, automation, quality control, and IT systems, along with software integration in industrial operations. Students observed production processes of biscuits, transformers, and PCBs, gaining insights into how technology drives efficiency and quality. Interactive sessions enriched their understanding of industrial IT applications. The visit was a bridge between their academic knowledge and industry practices.

On 26th June 2025, the MET solemnly commemorated the birth anniversary of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, the eminent social reformer and pioneer of educational equity. Faculty members, staff, and students gathered to honor the legacy of a leader whose visionary efforts reshaped access to education and uplifted marginalized communities.

The ceremony began with a floral tribute offered by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET Institute of Computer Science, Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), and Mr. Ashwin Rane, Registrar, Mumbai Educational Trust.

The MET community united in remembrance of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj’s unwavering commitment to social justice, equality, and inclusive education, values that continue to inspire educational institutions across the country.

As part of the event, Dr. Sonali Naik, Associate Professor, MET IOP (Degree), shared a reflective address on the life and legacy of the great reformer. Her talk underscored the importance of carrying forward his mission to create a more just and equitable society through education.

The observance on 26th June served as a tribute to a towering historical figure and a reaffirmation of MET’s dedication to fostering inclusive and socially conscious learning environments.

Prof. Omprakash Mandge was invited as a speaker at the Academia Oracle Industry-Academia Interaction during Oracle Apex Utsav 2025 at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune on 9th March 2025. It was a great opportunity to highlight MET’s progress and the successful incorporation of Oracle Academy programs into the curriculum, emphasizing the vital role of industry-academia collaboration in enriching education.

A guest session on \"Entrepreneurship & Innovation\" was conducted by Dr. Arun Raaza, CEO of Arcomm Solutions Pvt. Ltd., India, on 13th February 2025 for MET Institute of Computer Science students.

Dr. Raaza shared valuable insights on the role of innovation in entrepreneurship, the importance of skill development, and emerging technological trends. He emphasized the need for practical learning in fields like Electronics, AI, IoT, and Robotics.
