MET CET commenced its enriching five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) with the ceremonial lamp lighting led by Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative. The initiative brought together expert speakers and faculty members for a series of impactful sessions focused on progressive teaching methodologies.

Day 1 featured Dr. Chitra Wadke who led a session on Flipped Classroom, introducing student-centric methods to promote active participation and engagement in the learning process.

Day 2 was conducted by Ms. Armaity Kelawalla, who delivered an insightful session on Facilitating Neuro-Inclusive Education through Sensitization and Mentoring. A professional social worker, special educator, arts-based therapist, soft skills trainer, and life coach, she currently serves as a Fieldwork Supervisor at TISS, Mumbai.

Day 3 featured Ms. Sulakshana Rathod who conducted a session on implementing cooperative learning strategies. As Senior Manager at Emeritus, she designs and delivers learning journeys for mid to senior-level professionals across corporate and government sectors, focusing on leadership and transformation.

The ongoing FDP reflects MET\'s commitment to fostering academic excellence and equipping educators with future-ready teaching tools.

The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Tricolor by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, in the presence of Directors, Principals, and esteemed Heads of Institutes and Departments.

The vibrant festivities featured captivating performances by MET and MRV students and staff, showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. The day was marked by patriotic speeches, melodious songs, and mesmerizing dance performances, creating an atmosphere of pride and joy.

We are thrilled to share that MET Institute has successfully hosted an inspiring and enlightening IT Colloquium on 6th July 2024. The event brought together industry experts, academicians, and students to explore the latest trends and advancements in the field of Information Technology.

The event commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge for an enlightening and fruitful day. Welcome address by our honourable trustee Shri Pankaj Bhujbal Sir emphasized the importance of staying abreast of technological advancements and to leverage such platforms for continuous learning and innovation. The theme of the colloquium was set by Dr. Abhijit Banubakode - Principal ICS at MET Institute.

We were honored to have Ms. Reshma Qureshi - Head, Digital Enablement (Ideation to Revenue Value Chain) at TCS as Keynote Speaker who shared their invaluable insights on IT transitions and Evolution.

Next was the panel discussion with the theme \"Evolving trends and Expectations in the IT Industry\", The panelists, Mr. Davinder Singh - Chief Placement Officer CDAC Mumbai Region, Prof. Omprakash Mandge - Course Coordinator at MET ics and MET ISDR, Mr. Krupesh Parmar - Intelliza Solutions, Dr. Ashish Hanttangadi - Professor at Alkesh Dinesh Mody College, Mr. Dixson Almeida - Consultant at Securetech Solutions, Dr. Seema Purohit - Professor Emeritus at B.K. Birla College and Mr. Pankaj Tayade - Leader at IIBA provided diverse viewpoints and sparked meaningful conversations.

The event was also graced by Dr Neil Sequeira for an interactive session for all our industry delegates on Happiness Psychology. He made a significant contribution to help us understand how psychological principles can be applied to enhance our daily lives.

This was followed by Vote of thanks by very own Dr. Jyotsna Munshi - Deputy Director Corporate Relations Department.

This colloquium has reinforced our commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment. We look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue nurturing the IT talent and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Shroff College of Arts & M.H. Shroff College of Commerce.

The session delved into the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the realm of research. Prof. Mandge explained how artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed conventional research techniques, making it possible to extract insights from massive volumes of data at exceptional speed and accuracy. He explained how AI algorithms are changing the very nature of research across disciplines with case studies. MET Institute of Computer Science students hosted a Professional Mentorship Alliances event for the MCA batch of 2023-2025, aimed at preparing students for their upcoming placement processes. This event, held on 25 th May, 2024, brought together a distinguished panel of MET MCA alumni who shared their invaluable insights and experiences with the current students.

After the inauguration of the event, Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET-ICS welcomed the gathering. Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET-ICS, introduced the PMA and the goal envisioned as an outcome of the program.

Mr. Bhushan Gaonkar, Quality Head, Xoriant; delivered an insightful session on \"Process and Quality Management.\" He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in processes and the role of quality management in ensuring successful project outcomes. His talk provided students with a deeper understanding of industry expectations and best practices in quality management.

Mr. Sunil Patil, Senior Manager, Asian Paints; session on \"Cracking the IT Interview\" was highly engaging and practical. He shared tips and strategies for excelling in IT interviews, including how to effectively present skills and experiences, tackle challenging questions, and make a lasting impression on interviewers. His advice was particularly valuable for students gearing up for the competitive placement season.

Following the keynote sessions, students had the opportunity to interact with several other esteemed alumni in smaller group settings. The alumni included Mr. Bhushan Gaonkar, Mr. Sunil Patil, Ms. Shirley Sequeira, Product Manager, Sciative, Mr. Suraj Nag, Senior Software Engineer, Cornerstone OnDemand, Mr. Rohit Kahar, Software Engineer, RXO Angular, Mr. Zark Kazi, Associate, NEC Software Solutions India, Mr. Jatin Yadav, Senior Full Stack Developer, CloudCover and Mr. Jignesh Khandelwal, Associate Consultant, Golden Source. On June 23, 2024, MCA students from MET Institute Computer Science participated in an Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) activity at the Khushiyaan Foundation Ashram in Balkum, Thane. The event aimed to engage with and support 13 children from various parts of India who are nurtured at the Ananta Khushiyaan Ashram.

The day commenced with a brief introduction of the children, followed by introductions from the students. A series of fun and engaging games were conducted, including: Dog and the Bone, Kho Kho, Passing the Parcel, In and Out.

Students held discussions with the children about their future aims and goals. Provided necessary information and advice to help the children achieve their aspirations. The session concluded with a joyful time of dancing and jumping, fostering a sense of camaraderie and happiness.

Following the activities with the children, the students visited an old age home within the same premises. They interacted with the elderly residents and sought their blessings.

The ISR activity at the Khushiyaan Foundation Ashram was a fulfilling experience for the MCA students from MET ICS Bandra. It provided an opportunity for them to contribute positively to the community by engaging with children and elderly residents, offering both support and companionship.

On 26th April 2024, the event showcased a variety of activities that highlighted technical expertise of the participants. Enthusiastic students from other institutes pursuing MCA and BSc programs actively engaged in the event, turning it into a platform for exchanging knowledge and showcasing skills.

The event was inaugurated in the hands of Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS. The organising committee had put together a diverse array of events with meticulous planning and coordination, all aimed at igniting a competitive spirit among the participants. Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET ICS apprised the students regarding the rules and regulations to be followed during the competition.

The event was a symphony of innovation and collaboration. Whether you\'re a coding prodigy or a gaming aficionado, there was something for everyone - from Blind Coding to Pixel Hunt, Logo Mania to BGMI. The events also included events such as Squid Game, Escape Room, Splatter Ball Battle, FIFA and F1 Simulation. They catered to a broad range of technological interests and skill levels. Each event gave participants an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and enthusiasm.

The event was held on 20th April 2024. The occasion was graced by Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS with a thought provoking speech, where he reflected on the students experiences and achievements over their 2 years with MET ICS. Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET ICS, echoed the importance of lifelong learning and connections.

The event witnessed captivating dance performances from FY MCA students enthralling the audience, adding to the festive atmosphere. And fun games such as ‘Dominoes construction’, to team-building games like ‘Fire & Grass’ and ‘Human Chain’, encouraged collaboration and friendly competition that kept the energy high.

The Farewell & Alumni Meet demonstrated MET Institute of Computer Science\'s lasting legacy, and a commitment amongst the alumni to keep in touch and encourage one another\'s career aspirations.
