Internal Hackathon for SIH 2024

MET Institute of Computer Science is proud to announce the successful organization of the Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024! The event showcased the remarkable talent of MCA students, who demonstrated exceptional innovation and problem-solving skills while addressing real-world challenges with creativity and collaboration.
This internal competition marks a significant step towards the national-level SIH 2024, where the top teams will represent MET and compete on a larger stage for national recognition.
Power BI with Mr. Awesh Bhornya

MET ICS’ IIC and IQAC organised an insightful guest session on ‘Power BI’ for students of MCA with Mr. Awesh Bhornya, Founder and CEO of Infinity Learning.
Mr. Bournya provided a comprehensive introduction to Power BI, highlighting its significance in data analytics and business intelligence. He demonstrated key features of Power BI, including data connectivity, transformation, visualisation, and dashboard creation. A live demonstration showcased the entire process of creating a Power BI report, which was particularly engaging for the students.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively participated and gained valuable insights from Mr. Bournya’s extensive experience. The event was a significant success, inspiring students to further explore Power BI and its applications in the real world.
Purple Day Celebration 2023

The Social Cause Committee of MET Institute of Management celebrated ‘The Purple Day’ on 28th March, 2023 by organising an awareness session on epilepsy. Dr. Nirmal Surya, Expert - Neurologist & Hon. Trustee, MET was invited to conduct the session with MMS Students 2022-24 Batch. Dr. Surya exposed students to the causes, types and treatments related to epilepsy.
To pledge its dedication to the cause, MET IOM inaugurated ‘The National Case Study Competition On Epilepsy’. The case study aims at arriving at solutions for epilepsy management from the operations and the marketing perspective. The National Case Study Competition drew participation from various premier b-schools in the country.
Republic Day @ MET

Mumbai Educational Trust celebrated the 74th Republic Day of India by hoisting the Tricolour by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee, MET, in the presence of Directors, Principals, Heads of the Institutes and Departments.
MET resonated with patriotic zeal as MET Rishikul Vidyalaya students presented an instrumental performance, patriotic song renditions and speeches to honour the occasion by displaying the rich, traditional and cultural heritage and feeling proud to be a part of our nation. MMS students from the MET Institute of Management organised a Constitution Quiz for all the MET and MRV students & parents to boost their knowledge of the Constitution of India.
The event\'s highlight was the MET Awards - MET Bhushan, bestowed on dedicated MET employees for completing 15 years of passionate service, MET Gaurav, faculty and students were honoured for demonstrating excellence at international & domestic levels in Academic, Research & Sports and MET Ratna, facilitated to students for their achievement of being the academic toppers in their respective courses.
Mumbai Educational Trust and Delphic Council of Maharashtra Celebrate 28 Years of International Delphic Movement

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) partnered with the International Delphic council and Delphic
Council of Maharashtra formed the Delphic Art Wall at its campus in Bandra on 15 December
2022. It even marked the celebration of 28 years of the International Delphic Movement.
Thousands of students from MET Institutes and MET Rishikul Vidyalaya (MRV) participated in
the Delphic Art Wall. It was a Unity Project and a global attempt to make a record for the
longest Art Wall, running 11 kilometres by 2025. On this occasion MET, a more than 30 years
old recognized educational league, also announced Delphic Clubs for School and College
Students that will further strengthen their contribution towards the cultural cause. The Delphic
Games even referred to the Twin Sisters of the Olympic Games. Delphic is to arts and culture
equivalent to what the Olympics is to physical sports. The Delphic Games in modern bits are
hosted and driven by the International Delphic Council based in Berlin.
The Delphic Movement promotes harmony in the community via artistic engagement to boost
Art and Culture. The Live Art Wall Canvas Painting of 70 Meters by MET and MET Rishikul
Vidyalaya\'s students portrayed the art and culture of Maharashtra around the theme of
\'Water\'. The paintings made at MET have further ties with various states and countries to
develop an 11 kilometers long Art Wall at the time of the Delphic Games in an attempt to make
an entry in Guinness Book of World Records.
The event was inaugurated with a live painting by the world renowned calligraphy artist from
Maharashtra Mr. Achyut Palav and Artist Mr. Nilesh Mohite in the presence of Mr. Pankaj
Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, MET
and Mr. Ramesh Prasanna, Secretary General, International Delphic Council. Ms. Soumni Paul,
Vice President, Hungama Music, Core Members of Delphic Council Maharashtra, Mr. Suresh
Thomas, President, Maharashtra Delphic Council, Ms. Anuja Sahai, Mr. Abhijeet Bhujbal, Mr. Ali
Akbar Rizvi, Ms. Sejal Gala, Ms. Dipti Shah, and Mr. Susheel Mistry also graced the inaugural
ceremony.
The carnival witnessed diverse kinds of Folk and Tribal dances like Tarpa Dance, Dhol Dance,
and Nandi Dance performances expressing the Arts and Culture of Maharashtra by students of
MET and MRV. This International Delphic Movement even featured a Fashion Show portraying
outfits that showcase Maharashtra\'s culture in sync with the Delphic Art wall live paintings by
MET\'s students.
Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee MET expressed his delight on the Delphic as an idea
attempting to unite the world via Arts & Culture. He said, \"MET as an institution that offers programmes and courses is based on the premise of values rooted in our Culture and therefore
Arts that express our Cultures. We find the Delphic Movement a valuable resource to give our
students the global platforms they deserve.\"
Mr. Ramesh Prasanna, Secretary General of the International Delphic Council, a Cultural
Entrepreneur, and the founder of the Art School, expressed, \"I\'d love to tell you that the
foundation of the Mumbai Education Trust (MET) is about bringing a cultural value system into
children who study with you. The International Delphic Council completely subscribes to that
statement since we are based on the idea of the Delphic spirit.\" He also added, \"When we are
talking about a school year is what a wonderful gathering - we are talking about the very core
values that we require to be able to grow as human beings. One of the core values is love which
is about the spiritual balance between you and the universe & the rest of you; that is why we go
to schools & have these Cultural Value Systems with us.\"
In general, the Delphic Art Movement at MET and MRV gives students an opportunity to unveil
and symbolize Maharashtra\'s rich Art and Culture. The Delphic Clubs at MRV School and MET
Institutes will continue to serve as a platform to encourage Arts and Cultural exhibits amongst
the learner community.
‘Aarambh’- An Induction program for new MCA batch

Aarambh, the induction program for the new MCA batch, had a grand start on 27th December 2021. This was a hybrid mode event attended by the new students of the 1st year MCA (2021 - 23).
The Objective of this programme was to introduce the students to the institute and the course, making them feel comfortable in their new environment, set a healthy routine, create bonding between faculty, alumni and batchmates.
The chief guest for the day was Mr. Nilesh Gawade, Sterling Purpose Coach. He addressed the MCA batch of 2021 during the highly motivating session challenging them to push their limits and go beyond the normal and obvious to reach the pinnacles of success in the field of Computer & Technology.
This was followed by the inauguration of the Professional Mentorship Alliances. On this occasion Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET launched a responsive dynamic web portal powered by machine learning pma.met.edu, to manage all components of mentoring initiative.
MET Institute of Computer Science presented its annual magazine, The Edge. This year\'s magazine theme is ‘BLOCKCHAIN - Building Blocks for a Better World!’ Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal - MET Institute of Computer Science charted the course of MCA at MET, the teaching learning pedagogy and the goal for each student’s holistic growth.
Independence Day 2022

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day with immense
patriotism. The celebration commenced with a bike rally by students and faculty of all MET
Institutes. The students were soaked in the colour of Tiranga chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
It was followed by a splendidly co-ordinated march-past and the dignitaries hoisting the
National Flag with stunning rendition of the National Anthem by the MRV Primary Choir. Shri
Pankaj Bhujbal, Honourable Trustee, MET gave an inspiring speech followed by our Chief
Guest Ms Yatri Vitekar, Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board - Mumbai, under the Ministry
of Railways, Government of India who enthralled the audience with her thought provoking
words.
The bright and young MRV students from Preschool to Grade 10 and AS & A Levels
presented dynamic speeches in Hindi and English, a drama on Savitribai Phule, a street
play, amazing dance and music performances, which were infused with patriotic melodies, a
special performance by MET IIS, and finally closing with a fabulous singing performance by
our very own MET faculty and music legend Mr. Vinay Mandke. It was a memorable day at
MET and MRV.
Virtual Faculty Development Program

MET Institute of Computer Science Inaugurated one week online Faculty Development Program on ‘Machine Learning and Deep Learning using Python’ on 2nd August 2022.
On the first day, the key speakers for the session were Dr. Suhasini Vijaykumar, Principal, Bharati Vidyapeeth\'s Institute of Management & Information Technology, Navi Mumbai and Mr. Pranav Bapat, Data Scientist, AMF Bakery Systems, Netherlands.
More than 200 enthusiasts have been part of this 8 day FDP that is conducted with 90 minutes sessions every day including Q&A sessions.

MET Utsav 2021

MET Utsav 2021, an eagerly awaited Mega Annual Cultural and Sports fest of the Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) is here again, with so much gusto and enthusiasm all around. What makes it special this time is the fact that it\'s after the pandemic lockdowns in the new normal, first time ever being celebrated in hybrid mode with all the safety SOPs and precautions in place.
The MET Utsav 2021 was inaugurated at the hands of MET Trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal in the presence of all MET Directors, Principals, HODs and students joining online on 22 October 2021. The annual fest saw a plethora of events lined up for all METizens and MRVites.
As we are aware, ‘Ludo’ became the king of games during the pandemic. It\'s fun and entertaining for all age groups, therefore was featured as one of the enlisted Online Gaming Competitions as part of MET Utsav 2021. Gamers from across MET Institutes gathered virtually for a ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ (BGMI) gaming tournament held on day two of the fest. Battleground Mobile India Series is one of the biggest Battle Royale Esports events in the country. The competition drew over MET student gamers in large numbers who battled it out online. Being awarded as one of the best mobile games ‘Call of Duty’ (COD) was included in the MET Utsav 2021 online gaming tournaments too. The participating teams of COD exhibited the attributes such as unity, tactics and focus. These extremely engaging online gaming competitions saw hundreds of MET students contending for the winning titles. The enthusiastic students ensured that the event was a resounding success.
During the week long celebrations, a fun event ‘Antakshari’ was organised for the MET students, faculties and management staff. As part of MET Utsav 2021, the evergreen game \'Antakshari\' was organised on 25th October 2021, in which all MET staff - Teaching and non-teaching, participated with great enthusiasm and had a great time of fun and joy.
The online game competitions were followed by the sports day in which the students participated in a series of indoor games displaying their caliber in extracurricular events. Indoor games included chess, carom board and table tennis.
The MET Utsav 2021 concluded with a ‘Grand Finale’ on 30th October, 2021. For the first time the Cultural Event was organised in a hybrid form (both offline and online). Keeping in view the current scenario of Covid-19, MET Utsav 2021 was themed as ‘All is Well’ to convey the positive behavioural approach to overcome the circumstances everyone is facing. The audience witnessed flawless skilled performances recorded offline and presented online for large audience that joined online for this event. The solo and group dance performances were well choreographed by professionals and performed beautifully by MET students. Right from the MRV school to MET postgraduate students all came together to make the event entertaining and successful, demonstrating a positive outlook towards the situation. MRV student’s band performance along with Navdurga and Corona Warriors themed dance exhibits were the main highlights of the evening that infused so much of optimism in hope in the audience.
The event also witnessed melodious solo singing performances of peppy songs by MET students. Stand-up comedy made the audience laugh out louder. On the other hand, students and staff showed extraordinary creative skills in the field of photography, sketching, sculpture artifacts and illustration by submitting their entries in the ‘Creative Exhibition’; which was displayed in a 3D walk through. Students created a nostalgia for all the alumni by Bollywood Reunion Dance which was shot in college premises.
On this occasion the ‘MET Gaurav Awards’ were given to members of the MET staff & students who had shown the highest level of achievement and excellence at the international or national level whereas ‘MET Ratna Awards’ were felicitated to the sharpest minds of MET who have topped in their respective courses making the MET family feel proud. These awards were bestowed at the hands of MET Trustee, Mrs. Meena Bhujbal. Indeed, MET Utsav was a great hit even in the newer hybrid form. Everyone had a gala time with an entertaining evening. MET students deserved a great appreciation and therefore won the applause from students, faculty, and parents. Kudos to all the METizens.

India’s 75th Independence Day

Marking the freedom and glory of the nation, Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with immense patriotic zeal and enthusiasm.
The celebration commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony, in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET, Chief guest Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retd D.G.P (Maharashtra state), MET students, faculty, and staff where the unfurling of the National Flag was followed by the National Anthem.
MET Rishikul Vidyalaya students had their spirits high and exhibited musical skits, patriotic songs and speeches to honour the countless sacrifices of the freedom fighters, soldiers and heroes who fought for our country’s freedom. As every year, the MET Bhushan Awards were given to members of the MET family for their fifteen years of service and commitment towards their work. This was followed by the inauguration of ‘MET INSIGHTS’ - a special learning initiative by MET Institute of Management which aims to enhance the learning, receptivity and interaction with students. Guest speaker Mr. Amrut Deshmukh - CA, Founder of Booklet App, TEDx speaker & Social Entrepreneur addressed the MET IOM students on this occasion.
MCA Aarambh 2020-21

Aarambh, the induction program for the new MCA batch, had a grand start on 1st February 2021. In keeping with the times, this was online and well attended by the new students of the 1st year MCA (2020 - 21).
The chief guest for the day was Mr. Rajesh Punjabi, Assurance Head - TCS. He shared his thoughts on how one can bridge the divide between the physical and digital world. The students were inspired by him to reach for the stars in their new two year MCA journey.
Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal - MET Institute of Computer Science charted the course of MCA at MET, the teaching learning pedagogy and the goal for each student’s holistic growth.
This was followed by the inauguration of the SACA team and the felicitation of the MCA University toppers. To close for the day there was an ice breaking session with some fun and games to help the students bond and get to know one another.
