MET Institute of Mass Media oragnised ‘Media Colloquium 2024’ on 7th December 2024. As part of this initiative professionals from the Mass Media industry gathered to discuss & deliberate on the theme: Evolving trends and expectations in the media Industry.

The events keynote speaker Mr. Amar Vora, Founder, Innovate Digital Media and an alumni of MET Institute of Management was welcomed. With over 8 years of expertise and a proven track record in managing ?21 crore+ in performance marketing, Mr. Amar shared groundbreaking insights on “Navigating the Future of Digital Marketing and Advertisingâ€. He shared his journey from MET to founding his own digital media powerhouse which was inspiring, showcasing the power of innovation, data-driven strategies, and relentless passion. The interaction enlightened and inspired the future media professionals to dream big!
Mr. Elson Sequeira, Associate Director - HR, Madison World as A Keynote speaker shared his invaluable insights on “Overcoming Obstacles on the Path to Successâ€, inspiring everyone with his journey of innovation, resilience, and transformational leadership. From aligning talent strategies with organizational goals to creating empowering workplaces, Elson’s wisdom left the students motivated to strive for excellence and tackle challenges head-on.
Media Colloquium featured a panel discussion on the theme: Evolving trends and expectations in the media Industry. The Panel included esteemed panelists Ms. Fiona Machado, Head - HR, Endemol Shine India and Banijay Asia; Ms. Jiel Narvekar, HR Business Partner, Keva Fragnances; Dr. Jyoti Udaynath P, Group HR Manager, Ultra Media & Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Rakhee Aggarwal, HR - Head, OktoBuzz; moderated by Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar, Dean, MET Institute of Mass Media.
From talent acquisition to employee engagement, and from cultural shifts to the future of HR in media, the discussion was packed with actionable insights and fresh perspectives.
Media Colloquium also featured interactive sessions. MET IMM welcomed Mr. Harsh Doshi, Talent Agent at The Times Group, for an interactive session. With his dynamic journey as a celebrity manager, Bollywood reporter, TedX motivational speaker, and even the youngest parenting coach, Mr. Harsh brought incredible energy and wisdom to the session. The topic, “Various Diversity of Jobs in the Media Industry and Talent Managementâ€, gave our audience invaluable insights into the vast opportunities within the media world and the importance of managing talent effectively.
Ms. Kajal Kothari, Co-founder of FreshBox Media, interacted with Media students during an interactive session at ‘Media Colloquium 2024’. As an alumni of MET and a seasoned marketing professional with over 9 years of entrepreneurial excellence, Ms. Kajal shared her journey of transforming advertising dynamics and crafting impactful marketing strategies. Her session highlighted the power of innovation, creativity, and teamwork in building successful campaigns that inspire and connect.

MET Institute of Mass Media proudly welcomed its accomplished alumnus, Mr. Tejas Rane, as a guest speaker during the Induction Week for the Post Graduate Program in Mass Communication and Media Management (PGP MCMM 2025–26).
With over 10 years of experience in the media industry, Mr. Rane has extensively covered major sports events across India and abroad. His career spans notable stints with Mid-Day, Network18, and Outlook India Magazine, where he has interviewed renowned sports personalities including Jonty Rhodes, Dinesh Lad, and Ajinkya Rahane.
Invited to speak on “Careers in Modern Journalism and Sports as a Growing Sector in Media†Mr. Rane shared his journey from a media student to a respected sports journalist. He highlighted how the sports media ecosystem has evolved with digital transformation, live streaming, and the increasing role of analytics in storytelling.
Mr. Rane emphasized the importance of credibility, speed, and adaptability in modern journalism while shedding light on emerging opportunities in sports content, athlete branding, and multimedia reporting. Through anecdotes from his interviews and field experiences, he inspired students to pursue meaningful careers in journalism with a focus on passion-driven reporting.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, leaving the new batch motivated to explore the diverse and fast-growing avenues of sports journalism in the contemporary media landscape.
Independence Day 2025

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a series of vibrant events across its campuses. The grand flag-hoisting ceremony was graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, along with Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, Mumbai Education Trust, and Guest of Honour Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retired Deputy General of Police. The presence of our esteemed Institute Directors, Principals, and Heads made the occasion truly memorable. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour, reminding us of the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility towards our nation.
Adding to the spirit of the day, MET Rishikul Vidyalaya hosted a vibrant cultural celebration that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of its students. The event featured a House-wise Music Competition, artistic mosaics honouring freedom fighters, patriotic dance performances by Primary students, and a thought-provoking roleplay by AS & A Level students, depicting conversations between freedom fighters and today’s youth. Students from Pre-Primary to AS Levels participated with great zeal, making the celebration both inspiring and memorable.
The day was a true reflection of MET’s commitment to nurturing values of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. As the Tricolour fluttered high, every heart resonated with the promise to uphold the spirit of freedom.

MET celebrated International Yoga Day with enthusiastic participation from all staff members!
The session was guided by Ms. Saloni Rajawat, who led everyone through rejuvenating asanas and mindfulness practices, promoting health and harmony at the workplace.
