Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day with immense
patriotism. The celebration commenced with a bike rally by students and faculty of all MET
Institutes. The students were soaked in the colour of Tiranga chanting ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
It was followed by a splendidly co-ordinated march-past and the dignitaries hoisting the
National Flag with stunning rendition of the National Anthem by the MRV Primary Choir. Shri
Pankaj Bhujbal, Honourable Trustee, MET gave an inspiring speech followed by our Chief
Guest Ms Yatri Vitekar, Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board - Mumbai, under the Ministry
of Railways, Government of India who enthralled the audience with her thought provoking
words.
The bright and young MRV students from Preschool to Grade 10 and AS & A Levels
presented dynamic speeches in Hindi and English, a drama on Savitribai Phule, a street
play, amazing dance and music performances, which were infused with patriotic melodies, a
special performance by MET IIS, and finally closing with a fabulous singing performance by
our very own MET faculty and music legend Mr. Vinay Mandke. It was a memorable day at
MET and MRV.

Careers in Modern Journalism

MET Institute of Mass Media proudly welcomed its accomplished alumnus, Mr. Tejas Rane, as a guest speaker during the Induction Week for the Post Graduate Program in Mass Communication and Media Management (PGP MCMM 2025–26).
With over 10 years of experience in the media industry, Mr. Rane has extensively covered major sports events across India and abroad. His career spans notable stints with Mid-Day, Network18, and Outlook India Magazine, where he has interviewed renowned sports personalities including Jonty Rhodes, Dinesh Lad, and Ajinkya Rahane.
Invited to speak on “Careers in Modern Journalism and Sports as a Growing Sector in Media†Mr. Rane shared his journey from a media student to a respected sports journalist. He highlighted how the sports media ecosystem has evolved with digital transformation, live streaming, and the increasing role of analytics in storytelling.
Mr. Rane emphasized the importance of credibility, speed, and adaptability in modern journalism while shedding light on emerging opportunities in sports content, athlete branding, and multimedia reporting. Through anecdotes from his interviews and field experiences, he inspired students to pursue meaningful careers in journalism with a focus on passion-driven reporting.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, leaving the new batch motivated to explore the diverse and fast-growing avenues of sports journalism in the contemporary media landscape.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with a series of vibrant events across its campuses. The grand flag-hoisting ceremony was graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, along with Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, Mumbai Education Trust, and Guest of Honour Mr. D. Sivanandhan, Retired Deputy General of Police. The presence of our esteemed Institute Directors, Principals, and Heads made the occasion truly memorable. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour, reminding us of the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility towards our nation.
Adding to the spirit of the day, MET Rishikul Vidyalaya hosted a vibrant cultural celebration that showcased the talent and enthusiasm of its students. The event featured a House-wise Music Competition, artistic mosaics honouring freedom fighters, patriotic dance performances by Primary students, and a thought-provoking roleplay by AS & A Level students, depicting conversations between freedom fighters and today’s youth. Students from Pre-Primary to AS Levels participated with great zeal, making the celebration both inspiring and memorable.
The day was a true reflection of MET’s commitment to nurturing values of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride. As the Tricolour fluttered high, every heart resonated with the promise to uphold the spirit of freedom.
