National Supply Chain Management Conclave 2024

Chapter hosted the National Supply Chain Management Conclave on November 9th, 2024.
The event commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, in the presence of CA Dr.
Das, Director, MET Institute of PGDM, and distinguished guest, alongside faculty & students
marking the formal start of the program. The keynote address was shared by Mr. Padmakumar
G, Executive VP of Supply Chain Alliance at Tire Group. This conclave featured distinguished
guests and industry experts sharing insights on supply chain management.
The conclave featured an engaging panel discussion led by Mr. Mangesh Pawar, Director,
VDOO Travel Pvt. Ltd, The esteemed industry leaders including Mr. Balaji Ramadurai,
Independent Consultant, Project Management & Supply Chain; Mr. Harshvardhan Agarwal,
Founder, Excellent Transport Corporation; Mr. Shayak Mazumder, CEO, CTO & Founder, Adya;
and Dr. Roopali Srivastava, Director, Board Connect India Pvt. Ltd. shared valuable insights on
the evolving landscape of supply chain management.
The session offered students an opportunity to ask questions and gain practical knowledge
through a lively Q&A segment. The conclave concluded with CA Dr. Das, Director, MET Institute
of PGDM, felicitated the panellists, adding a moment of recognition to an already enlightening
experience that sparked meaningful conversations and deepened students’ understanding of
real-world supply chain challenges and solutions.
PGDM 2024-2026 Begins with Insightful Induction

MET Institute of PGDM\'s AAROHAN Induction for the 2024-2026 batch took place on July 11, 2024, marking the start of an enlightening journey for the new students. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom, led by distinguished individuals including Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee of MET, CA Dr. Das Shyamsundar, Director of PGDM, B.R. Venkatesh, serial entrepreneur, Shashwat Chauhan, Assistant Vice President of Marsh India Insurance Brokers Association Pvt. Ltd., and Pramod Shetty, Production Head of Sans Techno Mech Pvt. Ltd.
Throughout the induction, esteemed speakers delivered insightful messages, emphasizing the importance of embracing change, cultivating a growth mindset, and continuously seeking knowledge (ASK - Always Seek Knowledge). They encouraged students to become job creators rather than job seekers and to foster entrepreneurship and startups. A significant highlight was the discussion on AI and ChatGPT, underscoring that these technologies should complement human abilities rather than replace them, as human ingenuity remains the ultimate superpower.
The induction concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the faculty and students, along with Shashwat Chauhan sharing his inspiring journey and experiences at MET. The event successfully set a positive tone for the academic journey ahead, encouraging students to approach their studies with curiosity, innovation, and determination.
Inspiring and enlightening IT Colloquium

We are thrilled to share that MET Institute has successfully hosted an inspiring and enlightening IT Colloquium on 6th July 2024. The event brought together industry experts, academicians, and students to explore the latest trends and advancements in the field of Information Technology.
The event commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge for an enlightening and fruitful day. Welcome address by our honourable trustee Shri Pankaj Bhujbal Sir emphasized the importance of staying abreast of technological advancements and to leverage such platforms for continuous learning and innovation. The theme of the colloquium was set by Dr. Abhijit Banubakode - Principal ICS at MET Institute.
We were honored to have Ms. Reshma Qureshi - Head, Digital Enablement (Ideation to Revenue Value Chain) at TCS as Keynote Speaker who shared their invaluable insights on IT transitions and Evolution.
Next was the panel discussion with the theme \"Evolving trends and Expectations in the IT Industry\", The panelists, Mr. Davinder Singh - Chief Placement Officer CDAC Mumbai Region, Prof. Omprakash Mandge - Course Coordinator at MET ics and MET ISDR, Mr. Krupesh Parmar - Intelliza Solutions, Dr. Ashish Hanttangadi - Professor at Alkesh Dinesh Mody College, Mr. Dixson Almeida - Consultant at Securetech Solutions, Dr. Seema Purohit - Professor Emeritus at B.K. Birla College and Mr. Pankaj Tayade - Leader at IIBA provided diverse viewpoints and sparked meaningful conversations.
The event was also graced by Dr Neil Sequeira for an interactive session for all our industry delegates on Happiness Psychology. He made a significant contribution to help us understand how psychological principles can be applied to enhance our daily lives.
This was followed by Vote of thanks by very own Dr. Jyotsna Munshi - Deputy Director Corporate Relations Department.
This colloquium has reinforced our commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment. We look forward to organizing more such events in the future to continue nurturing the IT talent and bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Beach Clean by MET PGDM

A step towards a cleaner tomorrow!
Students of MET Institute of PGDM came together for a beach clean-up drive at Juhu Beach, the day after Ganpati Visarjan. With a shared vision of giving back to society and protecting nature, the students worked as a team to ensure that the remnants of the festival didn\'t harm the beach’s beauty or the environment.
A big thank you to the Association of Social Beyond Boundaries, Jagrut, and Mohit Jainani for collaborating and making this meaningful initiative possible. Together, we can make a difference!
FDP on AI in Teaching and Research

On 5th October 2024, MET Institute of PGDM hosted a one-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled \"Transformative Pathways: Application of AI in Teaching and Research.\" The program was designed to provide faculty members with cutting-edge insights into the integration of Artificial Intelligence in education and research.
The FDP featured three distinguished speakers, each addressing key aspects of AI in education:
Mr. Hirendra Soni: AI in Curriculum Design – Explored how AI can enhance curriculum development and course planning.
Dr. Amiya Tripathy: AI and Data Analytics in Education – Discussed the role of AI and data analytics in improving educational outcomes.
Dr. Jyotsna Munshi: Leveraging AI for Research and Case Creation – Shared strategies for utilizing AI in academic research and case study development.
Each speaker offered in-depth insights into practical AI applications, covering topics such as AI-driven curriculum design, AI tools for educational planning, and various AI applications for research papers and case writing.
Summer Guide Meet 2024

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) hosted an inspiring ‘Summer Guide Meet’ on 27th July 2024, bringing together industry leaders, educators, and students. The event featured engaging student presentations, insightful discussions, and enriching networking opportunities.
The day began with Saraswati Vandana, followed by a welcome address from CA Dr. Das, Director, MET PGDM, and the theme introduction by Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Director, MET AMDC.
Keynote speaker Mr. Ashrin Singh Anand, Director of Corporate Strategy, M&A, and Partnerships at S&P Global and MET IOM alumnus, shared his career insights. Students showcased their innovative summer internship projects, with the best receiving trophies and certificates.
Dr. Harshada Mulay, Associate Professor, MET PGDM opened the forum for guest insights, and Dr. Jyotsna Munshi, Deputy Director, MET Corporate Relations, gave the vote of thanks. A heartfelt appreciation goes to all mentors, faculty, and industry professionals for their invaluable support.

Crafting Compelling Cases: A One-Day FDP

MET Institute of PGDM organized a one-day Faculty Development Program on Case Teaching and Writing, led by Dr. Debmallaya Chatterjee, on Saturday, June 22, 2024. This program was specifically designed for academicians, research scholars, and corporate trainers, with the goal of enhancing their case teaching skills and encouraging case writing practices.
The FDP delved into the frameworks for creating compelling plots, narratives, characters, and dilemmas, providing participants with the expertise needed to develop engaging and impactful cases.
A key highlight of the program was the opportunity for publication in the upcoming EEMCS special issue, focused on ‘Data-driven decision-making in the era of technology disruption.

MET Institute of PGDM, in collaboration with Startupholic Catalyst, organized a half-day online Management Development Programme (MDP) focused on legal and taxation planning for startup founders and employees. Directed by CA Seema Korganokar, this program addressed crucial legal issues and taxation dilemmas inherent in entrepreneurial ventures. Scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, 2024, participants received valuable insights and practical knowledge to effectively manage legal and taxation challenges in their entrepreneurial journey.

The students of MET Institute of PGDM pursuing PGDM with specialisation in Media & Entertainment had the incredible opportunity to witness the making of the upcoming fim, ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ at Madh Island. The visit was held on 1st December 2024 under the guidance of Entertainment Maketing Professor Mr. Anand Limaye.
The students had gained first hand exposure to the dynamic world of filmmaking. From observing the meticulous on-set coordination to understanding the intricate balance of creativity and commerce, the visit brought classroom learning to life.

Insights from MET PGDM Alumni Session with Ankush Widge

MET Institute of PGDM recently organized an Alumni Interactive Session centered on the \'Industry of Event Management,\' featuring Mr. Ankush Widge, a pass-out from the 2015-17 PGDM batch who currently serves as the Founder of Front of House Entertainment & The Wedding Space Co. on 17th February, 2024.
During the session, Ankush Widge shared insights into his company\'s vision, mission, and past accomplishments, emphasizing the transformative nature of events as live marketing experiences where dreams come to life. He delved into various event types, including corporate, entertainment, and personal/social events, providing a comprehensive overview of the event planning process, from business development to post-event analysis.
Mr. Widge highlighted the significance of staging experiences in the Experience Economy and underscored the crucial role of networking in client acquisition. Additionally, he outlined the key attributes of an effective event manager, emphasizing qualities such as being detail-oriented, energetic, flexible, and skilled in problem-solving. The session concluded with a group activity focused on enhancing event presentation skills and understanding key event parameters.
