MET Incubation Centre hosted ‘Alumni Entrepreneurship Round Table’, uniting alumni with entrepreneurial experience across MET Institutes and graduating years.

Convened by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean, MET Incubation Centre, the session focused on a rich exchange of ideas and insights to strengthen the campus startup and innovation ecosystem.

The collaborative discussion will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic plan, startup roadmap, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the upcoming academic year. A key takeaway from the round table was the proposal to form an Alumni Mentor Pool — aimed at providing structured guidance and mentorship to student-led ventures.

MET extends sincere thanks to all Heads of Institutions (HOIs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and Incubation Faculty SPOCs for their enthusiastic participation and continued support in fostering entrepreneurship.

The MET Alumni Meet – Canada Chapter, held on Saturday, 30th August 2025 in Mississauga, Canada, was a heartwarming evening that brought together our vibrant alumni community. The MET Alumni Meet - Canada Chapter held on Saturday, 30th August 2025 in Mississauga, Canada with immense joy and enthusiasm. The evening began on a delightful note with the inauguration and cake-cutting ceremony led by Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Director, MET AMDC, along with proud MET alumni. Her inspiring words and gracious presence set the perfect tone for an evening dedicated to celebrating achievements, cherishing memories, and strengthening the lifelong bonds of the MET family.

This symbolic inauguration beautifully reflected the spirit of togetherness that defines MET. It was a reminder of the connections that transcend time and distance, uniting alumni across the globe under the shared legacy of being a proud Metizen.

MET Institute of PGDM proudly hosted the inspiring session Dare to Dream on 28th November 2024, featuring visionary entrepreneurs Mr. Harsh Soni and Ms. Smitha Soni from TeamNgage. Organized by the Alumni Cell and IIC, the session introduced the powerful ECG Dashboard Framework for Leadership, which emphasizes setting clear expectations, communicating effectively, and fostering collaboration with accountability. Through heartfelt stories from their entrepreneurial journey, the duo inspired students to view problems as opportunities for growth, highlighting that solving challenges leads to breakthroughs and success.

The Dare to Dream session left the audience energized and motivated to embrace challenges with a growth mindset. Mr. and Ms. Soni’s message that \"giving up is never an option\" resonated deeply, encouraging future leaders to dream big and lead with purpose. Thank you for sharing your journey and igniting a spark of innovation and perseverance in us all!

On September 21st, MET had the incredible opportunity to host a series of mock interviews for the Finance students, made possible by the support of industry-leading corporates and esteemed alumni.

A huge thank you to all the professionals who took the time to share their invaluable insights and real-world experience with our future leaders. Their guidance and feedback were instrumental in helping the students hone their skills and gain confidence as they prepared to step into their careers. The mock interviews were a fantastic platform for the students to engage in realistic scenarios, receive constructive critiques, and network with industry experts. Seeing so much enthusiasm and dedication from students and the interviewers was inspiring.

A special shoutout to the amazing alumni who gave back to the community and supported the next generation of professionals. Their involvement is a testament to the strength and generosity of MET’s network.

MET Institute of PGDM organised an engaging Alumni Roundtable on 14th September 2024, featuring Mr. Shabbir Khedawala, Sr. Project Manager at Merkle (formerly Ugam Solutions).

Mr. Khedawala shared valuable insights on essential industry skills and tips for acing the placement selection process, including CV crafting techniques. The session proved to be highly informative, offering students key takeaways to enhance their career readiness.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) organised ‘Mock Interviews’ for HR and Operations specialisation students on August 17th, 2024, with the generous support of industry-leading corporates and distinguished alumni. This initiative provided students with invaluable real-world experience and constructive feedback, preparing them to excel in their professional careers.

MET Institute of PGDM organised an ‘Industrial Visit to Vasai’ on 10 April 2023 with a first year batch in 4 groups led by 4 different Faculties.

The industrial visit was a great opportunity for students to learn about the different aspects of the manufacturing process. They were able to see how raw materials are turned into finished products, and they also learned about the quality control measures that are in place to ensure that the products meet the highest standards.

The students visited four different companies:

• Quick Industrial Suppliers is a mechanical engineering manufacturing company that specializes in the production of tractor parts. The company has been in business for over 35 years, and it supplies its products to a number of major companies, including Mahindra.
• Altra Industries is a manufacturer of whiteboards and noticeboards. The company has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, and it uses the latest technology to produce its products.
• Autocal Solutions is a calibration and validation company. The company provides a wide range of services to its clients, including the calibration of instruments, the validation of processes, and the testing of food, water, and air.
• Aarna Kitchen is a manufacturer of modular furniture. The company has a wide range of products to choose from, and it offers a variety of customization options.

Faculty professors present in this field visit were Dr. Suvrashis Sarkar, Associate Professor, MET Institute of PGDM, Dr Nisha Tatkar, Associate Professor, MET Institute of PGDM, Prof. Amey Palwankar, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of PGDM, Prof. Vaibhav Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of PGDM and all were assisted by visiting faculty Mr. Mangesh Pawar.

The students were very impressed with the companies they visited. They learned a lot about the manufacturing process, and they also gained a better understanding of the different types of businesses that are operating in the area.

The industrial visit was a valuable learning experience for the students. It gave them a first-hand look at the different aspects of the manufacturing process and it also helped them to network with professionals in the industry. Overall it was a great success and it provided students with a valuable learning experience.

The MET Institute of Post Graduate Diploma in Management, hosted an Alumni Interaction Session on 1st April 2023, featuring Ms. Sabah Ahmed, Lead Analyst of CRISIL Limited.

Ms. Sabah Ahmed talked about credit ratings in the Banking Sector, inflation and employment rates, some of the cases related to bank scams and her experience in CRISIL Limited. She further shared valuable insights about corporate sectors, how to prepare for interviews, banking sectors and credit ratings as well.

Overall it was a very informative and valuable session.

MET Institute of PGDM arranged a \'Rural Immersion Study Tour\' on 10th March 2023 in the Murbad district. A group of aspiring MBAs visited various places such as the Grampanchayat office, Higher Secondary School and Public Healthcare Centre.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to meet with the Sarpanch of the village who discussed with them various issues faced by the community such as the lack of basic healthcare facilities, water scarcity and limited education resources in schools.

The students, after listening to the problems faced by the community, endeavoured to assist by linking them with NGOs in the respective areas and suggested ideas to help tackle these challenges.

On the 25th of February 2023, the Alumni Committee of the MET Institute of Post Graduate Diploma in Management hosted an Alumni Interaction session, featuring MET PGDM Alumni Ms. Reema D\'Souza, Head - Human Resources, Viral Fission (PGDM 2014-16 Batch)

During this session, Ms. D\'Souza shared her expertise on ‘Employability Skills’ by providing valuable insights and tips to aspiring management professionals. She covered various topics such as interview preparation, Dos and Don\'ts of the interview process and effective resumes creation. Ms. D\'Souza\'s informative session was well received by the students. It provided attendees with valuable knowledge and skills.

MET PGDM Alumni Committee organised an Alumni Interaction session on 28th January 2023 with MET PGDM 2015-17 batch Alumni Mr. Aprit Beriwal, Technical and Derivative Analyst, CMT, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. He was felicitated by CA. Dr. Shyamsundar Das, Deputy Director, MET PGDM and Prof. CA. Seema Korgaonkar, Assistant Professor.

The session began with Mr. Arpit talking about his experience in Motilal Oswal. He has a remarkable experience in derivatives markets being a Derivative Technical Analyst. He further delivered insights on NIFTY, profitable sectors for investment and an introduction to technical analysis, how the mutual fund is essential, what is SIP, why we should opt for SIP and what is the cash segment and derivatives segment. He explained the Derivatives part by giving an example of a T20 cricket match. Mr. Arpit represented finance in just 2 words - \"Risk\" and \"Reward\".

Some most significant key points discussed in the session were what is SEBI, how finance is a crucial element of all the domains, why equity investment is essential, what are derivatives, what are commodities, how future trading is conducted, option buyer vs option seller, what is cash/future/options trading and what are some necessary lessons for derivatives markets.

As the session ended, Mr. Arpit advised students of MET PGDM to \'Take Calculated Risk\'. He was given a token of appreciation by CA. Dr. Shyamsundar Das, Prof. Dr. Nisha Tatkar, Prof. Kiran Rodrigues and Prof. Seema Korgaonkar.
