Mumbai Educational Trust is proud to announce the successful completion of the workshop, “Fostering an Innovative Ecosystem at MET Campus”, organized by the MET Incubation Centre on 13th January 2025. This workshop marked a significant milestone in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial excellence across our academic ecosystem.

During the welcome address, with visionary outlook Mr Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, outlined the strategic vision for the MET Incubation Centre, emphasizing the vital role of collaboration among the MET Institutes in fostering innovation and entrepreneurial success. Teams of MET Institutions Innovation Council (MET IIC) presented the efforts and achievements in promoting entrepreneurship in their respective institutes.

Led by the MET Incubation Team, the workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the achievements and milestones accomplished over the past year. The discussions focused on streamlining incubation activities, strengthening collaboration across departments and a roadmap for the future.

All the MET Institutes were invited to collaborate in shaping strategic directions for MET Incubation programs by providing actionable insights for the growth of start-ups within the ecosystem.

MET Institute of Pharmacy organized a two-day workshop, \"AI Revolution in Pharmaceutical Sciences,\" on 19th and 20th December 2024, conducted by Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Associate Professor and Course Coordinator, MET Institute of Computer Science. The workshop explored AI’s transformative role in drug discovery, development, and personalized medicine.

Prof. Mandge provided hands-on training in AI-driven tools like predictive analytics, emphasizing real-world applications using Knime and ethical considerations. Faculty gained insights into integrating AI into academia and research.

Prof. Omprakash Mandge was invited as a speaker for the Online Faculty Training Programme on “ReactJS” organized by Sterling’s Institute of Management Studies and DES’s Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development.

During the session conducted on 22nd October 2024, he aimed to enhance faculty members\' understanding and skills in ReactJS, a popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces, essential in modern web development.

Prof. Mandge shared his insights, covering key concepts, practical applications, and best practices to help participants improve their technical proficiency in web development. His session was well-received, contributing significantly to the learning objectives of the faculty training program and enriching participants\' expertise.

MET Institute of Computer Science conducted a comprehensive mock firefighting exercise on July 24, 2024, led by Mr. Sujeet Prabhughate. Faculty and MCA students actively participated in the drill aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response skills.

Mr. Prabhughate provided hands-on training in using firefighting equipment, executing proper evacuation protocols, and maintaining effective communication during emergencies. Participants practised safe building exit strategies and extinguishing controlled fires, gaining valuable practical experience and increased confidence in managing real-life fire situations.

This insightful and educational exercise reinforced the importance of fire safety awareness and ensured that everyone is better equipped to handle potential emergencies.

Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET Institute of Computer Science had the honour of serving as ‘Academic Mentor’ at the Academic Administration Plan (AAP) workshop hosted by Vidyalankar School of Information Technology\'s Software Development Cluster.

Prof. Mandge collaborated with faculty to develop innovative methods for preparing students for industry roles, emphasising the value of activity-based learning and designing question papers that foster logical reasoning. This experience allowed MET Academician to contribute significantly to student development and academic excellence.

Mumbai Educational Trust conducted a comprehensive mock firefighting exercise on July 24, 2024, to strengthen emergency preparedness across the campus. The session was led by Mr. Sujeet Prabhughate, a fire safety expert, and saw active participation from faculty and students.

Mr. Prabhughate provided hands-on training in operating firefighting equipment, following proper evacuation protocols, and ensuring clear communication during emergencies. Participants practiced safe evacuation procedures and extinguishing controlled fires, gaining valuable real-world experience and confidence.

This educational initiative reinforced the importance of fire safety awareness and ensured that the MET community is better prepared to respond effectively to potential emergency situations.

MET Institute of Computer Science recently hosted an enlightening ‘Gender Sensitization Session’ led by the esteemed Dr. Aruna Deshpande, Professor and Workforce Diversity Researcher.

The session focused on promoting gender equality and fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Dr. Deshpande highlighted the importance of challenging biases and understanding gender dynamics. Through engaging discussions and real-life scenarios, participants gained valuable insights into gender issues within academic and professional environments.

The workshop aimed to create a culture of equity and respect, inspiring both students and staff to advocate for gender-sensitive policies and practices.

Safety First!

At MET, we believe in readiness and prioritizing the well-being of our METizens. On 30th April 2024, we conducted a comprehensive Fire Drill Training session to equip our employees with the knowledge and skills needed to react swiftly and safely in the event of a fire emergency. MET Institute of Computer Science organised a Student Development Program focusing on ‘Interview Skills’ for MCA students on March 22, 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Purnima Vibhandik, Ex Deputy Vice President- HR, HDFC Bank Ltd.

During the session, Ms. Purnima imparted strategies for tackling common interview questions, refining self-presentation, and boosting confidence. Practical exercises and mock interview sessions were conducted to provide personalised feedback and hands-on experience to the students. The aim of this SDP was to equip students with robust interview skills, thereby enhancing their prospects for internships, job placements, and career opportunities.

Ms. Purnima empowered students to effectively showcase themselves, differentiate from competitors, and leave a lasting impact on potential employers.

MET Fest 2024 kicked off with grandeur and excitement as Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee of Mumbai Educational Trust, and Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, inaugurated the event amidst MET students, faculty, and staff. Over the course of three days, the festival showcased a diverse range of activities, including Creative Exhibitions, engaging Workshops, thrilling Competitions, a spectacular Talent Show, and an action-packed Sports Day.

The festival commenced with a Creative Exhibition displaying exceptional artworks by MET students, faculty, and staff. Workshops such as fashion photography, salad-making, and urban gardening provided hands-on learning experiences, promoting creativity, healthy living, and sustainability.

Day two witnessed innovative endeavors such as the Best out of Waste competition, where METizens showcased their creativity by transforming discarded materials into stunning creations. Additionally, participants challenged themselves at the Escape Room, testing their problem-solving skills and teamwork.

The highlight of MET Fest 2024 was the Talent Show, featuring mesmerizing performances ranging from classical dance invocations to sensational singing, showcasing the immense talent within the MET community.

The festival concluded on a high note with the inauguration of the Annual Sports Day, symbolizing unity, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence. As the torch was lit and flags unfurled, students and staff embraced the spirit of competition and camaraderie, making MET Fest 2024 a memorable celebration of creativity, talent, and athleticism.

Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator, MET Institute of Computer Science was invited as a Guest Speaker at a 2-Days Workshop on “Programming Concepts using Advanced Java” organised by the Department of Master of Computer Applications, VIVA Institute of Technology on 23rd & 24th November 2023.

He explained the core concepts of java programming and provided an in depth overview of Spring Boot Framework. The session was attended by more than 80 MCA students.

Dr. Harshali Patil, Associate Professor, MET Institute of Computer Science was invited as a resource person to conduct 2 days session on ‘Fundamentals of AI/ML and its applications to Civil Engineering with Case Study demonstration’ at AICTE-ISTE approved Short Term Training Programme (STTP) organised by VIVA Institute of Technology, Virar(E) on 5th and 6th January 2023.
