Mr. Naresh Konga, an entrepreneur, shared insights on the IT industry, while Mr. Huzaifa Dhapai, Founder of Webverge, introduced Generative AI. Ms. Nidhi Sawant, Analyst at Tech Mahindra covered essential technical skills, and Mr. Shyam Bhavsar, Senior Software Engineer at NASDAQ guided students on starting out in IT.

Big Data Analytics, Jai Hind College, for an Expert Session on \"Agentic AI & LLM\" on 8th August 2025. Prof. Mandge explained how to create an AI-enabled bot and conducted a hands-on session where students learned to optimize resumes using Ollama.

The session blended concepts, coding, and practical demos, giving participants a powerful understanding of how Agentic AI and LLMs can be applied to real-world tasks. Students left with new skills, inspiration, and the curiosity to explore further in the world of AI.

MET Institute of Computer Science organised Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Design Thinking for Educators: A Human-Centered Innovation Approach, held from 14th - 18th July 2025 in Hybrid mode.

This 5-Day immersive journey began with an insightful session by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM. She introduced the core principles of design thinking, with a special emphasis on the \"Empathize\" stage. Through the Pepsico case study, she highlighted how understanding user needs and perspectives is crucial for meaningful innovation. The session set the tone for a deeper exploration of human-centered problem-solving, encouraging educators to adopt empathetic and creative approaches in their teaching practices.

On Day 2, an engaging and thought-provoking session was conducted by Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean and Associate Professor, MET Institute of Management. Dr. Barve focused on the Design Thinking process from a teacher’s perspective, emphasising its relevance in the evolving educational landscape. He underlined that change is a constant and must be embraced throughout the design thinking journey. His engaging talk provided educators with practical insights into how design thinking can foster innovation, adaptability, and student-centric approaches in teaching and learning.

On Day 3, Dr. Chitra Wadke, Head, Centre of Educational Technology at MET, conducted an interactive session on Creativity and Innovation. During the session, Dr. Wadke encouraged educators to design learning experiences that address the needs of diverse learners - visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing types. Discussions highlighted methods for nurturing creativity among both educators and students, ensuring inclusive classroom engagement. The session empowered attendees with tools to customize lessons for different learning styles, enhancing the effectiveness of education and promoting a culture of creativity and innovation.

On Day 4, Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Course Coordinator and Associate Professor at MET Institute of Computer Science, conducted an engaging and interactive session focused on wireframes and prototypes. Prof. Mandge emphasized the significance of visual representation in the design thinking process and guided participants through the transition from ideation to tangible solutions. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, educators explored how prototypes can bring ideas to life and improve user-centric solutions. The session enabled participants to grasp the practical relevance of prototyping in educational innovation and curriculum design.

On Day 5, Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Dean, MET Institute of PGDM conducted an engaging and interactive session on the Business Model Canvas. She explained its key components and demonstrated how it serves as a strategic tool for developing and visualizing innovative business ideas. Using real-world case studies like Uber and Swiggy, she highlighted how companies create, deliver, and capture value. The session encouraged participants to think critically about business viability and customer needs, enhancing their ability to integrate entrepreneurial thinking into academic and educational contexts.

The MET Institute of Computer Science, in collaboration with IEEE, inaugurated IGNITE 2025: One Day to Spark a Lifetime of Entrepreneurship! on August 4, 2025, setting the stage for a power-packed day of inspiration, ideation, and immersive learning.

The event was inaugurated with lighting the lamp in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET; Chief Guest Mr. Akshay Adhalrao, MD, Dynalog; Mr. Nitesh Gawade, Life Coach & Entrepreneur; Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS, Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Entrepreneurship Ambassador, R10 RECI, IEEE; MET Faculty & students.

The ceremonial act marked an auspicious start to the event, reflecting unity, hope and the collective commitment towards inspiring innovation among the participants.

The event began on an inspiring note with the inaugural address by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, emphasising how entrepreneurship is the engine that drives innovation and shapes the future of our economy and society.

Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Entrepreneurship Ambassador, IEEE R10 RECI, introduced the agenda of the day, outlining the vision behind IGNITE 2025. He spoke about the mission of nurturing innovation & collaboration, and the purpose of the event to ignite creativity, provide a platform for budding entrepreneurs, and empower the students to turn their ideas into impactful ventures.

MET Institute of Computer Science was honoured to welcome Mr. Akshay Adhalrao, MD, Dynalog, as the Chief Guest at IGNITE 2025.

In his address, Mr. Adhalrao introduced the thought-provoking concept of ‘Mahapreneur’, encouraging the participants to view the customers as God and focus on creating real, need driven solutions that create lasting impact.

He also engaged with the students through Q&A session motivating them with insights on pursuing entrepreneurship with empathy, integrity and purpose. His message truly inspired everyone at IGNITE - reminding us that great businesses start not just with ideas, but with a real desire to help others and make a difference.

MET Institute of Computer Science was honoured to welcome Mr. Nitesh Gawade, Life Coach & Entrepreneur, as the Keynote Speaker at IGNITE 2025.

Mr. Gawade engaged the audience thoroughly by posing the question: \"Why are you here?” - classifying the attendees as prisoners, vacationers, or learners. He emphasised that true learners come in search of career growth, entrepreneurship, and abundant earnings. Using vivid analogies, he stressed the importance of open-minded listening and encouraged students to reflect on their goals for becoming entrepreneurs.

Mr. Gawade outlined four levels of entrepreneurship: survival, pleasure, passion-driven success, and finding one\'s purpose in life. He underscored the value of moving beyond survival and pleasure toward passion and purpose. Citing examples such as The Kapil Sharma Show, he demonstrated how true entrepreneurs think beyond ‘me’ to ‘we’ and focus on creating ventures that serve and uplift society. His address left the audience motivated to pursue entrepreneurship with clarity, empathy, and purpose.

IGNITE 2025 featured a panel discussion, ‘From Idea to Execution’, bringing together a stellar lineup of entrepreneurs, experts, and academicians.

The panel comprised: Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS; Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Head - MET Incubation Centre, MET; Mr. Mahesh Kaware, Certified Financial Planner; Dr. Arun Raaza, Founder, Arcomm; Mr. Naresh Konga, Founder, Konga Infotech LLP; Mr. Abhishek Jajoo, Founder & CEO, Abhishek Jajoo & Co.; Mr. Siddharth Jain, Founder & CEO, Tech Simians India Pvt. Ltd; moderated by Prof. Omprakash Mandge, Associate Professor, MET ICS.

During the discussion, Dr. Banubakode shared how students at MET ICS are encouraged to move from academic learning to entrepreneurial action, fostering innovation through project-based learning. Dr. Kulkarni encouraged aspiring founders to leverage MET’s in-house incubation centre and highlighted government initiatives such as Startup India, MSME funding, and prototype support schemes for women innovators. Mr. Kaware stressed the importance of financial planning and shared insights from his journey, introducing the concept of EMI: Emergency fund, Medical, and Insurance, urging founders to pay themselves a base salary to ensure stability. Mr. Jajoo shared insights into budgeting, cash flow, pricing for product-based ventures, and organic growth through service-based models. Mr. Konga emphasised knowing your product thoroughly, maintaining constant client communication, and regular financial reconciliation. Mr. Jain detailed his entrepreneurial journey and presented a four-step framework: identify the problem, live it, build the solution, and discover the market. He also advocated for a stop-loss mindset to minimize the risk. Dr. Raaza advised students to develop people management and leadership skills alongside technical expertise to thrive as founders.

The discussion offered actionable insights across all stages of entrepreneurship and left the audience inspired, better informed, and equipped to take their ideas from concept to reality.

MET Institute of Computer Science welcomed Dr. Farida Virani, Professor, MET IOM, for an interactive session as part of IGNITE 2025.

Dr. Virani delivered an engaging session that brought the principles of human-centred design thinking to life through compelling storytelling. She shared nature-inspired examples such as Japan’s bullet train, modeled after the kingfisher’s beak for noise reduction and speed and drones influenced by bee flight patterns. These stories sparked imagination while reinforcing the importance of sustainable and meaningful design.

This served as a foundation for students to pitch their innovative concepts. The creativity was palpable, with standout projects like \"Crochet Baee\" showcasing intricate handmade crafts, \"Vaidya\" gamifying health and wellness through a healer’s journey, \"Inara\" offering distinctive perfumes, \"Spectra\" introducing smart spectacles, and \"Adhwin\" featuring unique, handcrafted gifts. Many other ideas also energized the room with fresh thinking. Students confidently presented their creations, impressively addressing questions from the panel. This hands-on segment celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit and underscored the power of problem-solving design.

As IGNITE 2025 drew to a close, it left behind a trail of inspiration, fresh ideas, and empowered minds ready to leap into entrepreneurship. From thought-provoking keynotes to hands-on simulation games, the event was a true melting pot of innovation, collaboration, and real-world learning. Students and aspiring founders walked away with not just knowledge but a mindset of curiosity, resilience, and purposeful action. IGNITE proved that it only takes one day to spark a lifetime of entrepreneurial thinking. The session highlighted the rich biodiversity of the intertidal region, where students observed a variety of marine creatures, including different types of crabs, shells, starfish and sponges. Experts explained the importance of these organisms in maintaining ecological balance. The hands-on experience allowed students to appreciate marine life and understand coastal ecosystems better. MET Utsav 2025, the mega annual cultural and sports fest of Mumbai Educational Trust (MET), themed ‘Indian Sanskriti’ reflecting the vibrant traditions, arts, and sporting spirit of the nation, has commenced with an electrifying spirit, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and sportsmanship. The much-anticipated intra-collegiate extravaganza, known for fostering energy, uniqueness, and camaraderie, began with Inauguration, Creativity Exhibition, Annual Sports Day on 1st February 2025 and will conclude with the Grand Finale on 8th February 2025. Meanwhile, the fest will feature series of event such as Competitions, Talent Show, Jatra, Workshops.

On 1st February, MET Utsav was inaugurated with a march past by students and staff, followed by a formal opening ceremony graced by Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, and esteemed guest Ms. Pooja Surve, a renowned rhythmic gymnast.

Day 1: A Thrilling Kick-off with Annual Sports Day and Creativity Exhibition

The first day of MET Utsav 2025 set the stage for an action-packed festival with an array of outdoor and indoor sports competitions, reflecting India\'s rich sporting culture. Students and staff participated with great enthusiasm in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Lagori, Cricket, Rink Football, Ball Badminton, Dodgeball, and Tug of War, while indoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, and Chess saw intense competition.

Adding a creative dimension to the celebrations, the Creativity Exhibition showcased extraordinary artistic expressions, featuring sculptures, artifacts, sketching, illustrations, photography, and paintings. The exhibition was a visual treat, reflecting the imagination and artistic prowess of MET’s students and staff.

Day 2: High-spirited Competitions Unleash Talent

The second day of MET Utsav 2025 was filled with exciting competitions that challenged participants’ skills, creativity, and intellect. Events like Lupt Rasoi (Lost Indian Recipes), Chakravyuh (The Squid Saga), Heritage Hunt (Treasure Hunt), Shuddh Bhasha, Reel Ke Rangbaaz (Reel Making), and Nukkad Natak (Street Play) kept the energy high and the audience engaged. With enthusiastic participation from students and staff, each competition turned into a showcase of talent, strategy, and teamwork.

As MET Utsav 2025 continues, the excitement is only building up, promising more unforgettable moments.

Day 3: Talent Show - A Stage Lit with Talent and Enthusiasm

The third day of MET Utsav 2025 was all about showcasing incredible talent. The Talent Show featured mesmerizing singing, music, and stand-up performances, keeping the audience entertained throughout. The energy soared as students set the stage on fire with an electrifying band performance—so much so that even the judges couldn’t resist joining in!

During the performances, winners of various competitions were felicitated, celebrating their outstanding skills and achievements. The evening ended on a high note with a special performance by our mentors, who left the audience in awe.

Day 4: Jatra - A Celebration of Flavors and Festivities

The fourth day of MET Utsav 2025 was a fun-filled and unforgettable experience with Jatra, an event that brought together flavors, traditions, and joy. As part of the ‘Indian Sanskriti’ theme, each institute and department set up food stalls offering a delicious spread of Maharashtrian, Gujarati, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines. The vibrant setup, traditional décor, and mouth-watering dishes made it a perfect cultural delight.

The highlight of the day was the arrival of Bollywood sensation Vicky Kaushal, who stole the show with his presence, leaving students and faculty thrilled. His energy and charm added an extra layer of excitement to an already spectacular day!

Day 5: Enriching Workshops – Learning Beyond Classrooms

Day fifth of MET Utsav 2025 was a day of learning, creativity, and cultural exploration with a series of engaging workshops. Participants experienced the ancient art of Maharashtratil Sanskrutik Yudhkala (Traditional Self-Defence), learning age-old martial arts techniques. The Mitti Ka Jadu (Pottery) workshop allowed them to shape clay into artistic creations, while Naad Anubhuti (The Experience of Sound) offered a meditative and soothing experience through sound waves. The Dhyan aur Satarkta Satra (Meditation and Mindfulness) session guided participants in enhancing focus and inner peace. The Shringar Pratha (Traditional Adornment) workshop explored India’s rich tradition of beauty and adornment. Adding an adventurous touch, Nadi Pragamana (River Crossing) gave participants a thrilling experience of river-crossing techniques. Culinary enthusiasts enjoyed , where they explored the heritage of Indian flavors and cooking techniq Swad ki Virasat (True Taste of Tradition) ues. The Nritya Utsav (Festival of Dance) brought alive traditional dance forms with expert-led sessions, while the Drishyakala (Photography) workshop inspired budding photographers to master the art of visual storytelling. Aspiring actors refined their craft in the Abhinay Kala (Acting) workshop, and art lovers explored the intricate strokes of Warli Chitrakala (Warli Painting). The day concluded with Vrukshavalli Aamha Soyari (Gardening), an insightful session on organic gardening and sustainable practices. Each workshop blended knowledge with hands-on experiences, making it a truly enriching and memorable day for all!

Day 6 - Grand Finale of MET Utsav 2025 – A Spectacular Closing Night!

The final day of MET Utsav 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary! The Grand Finale brought together a fusion of electrifying performances, star-studded moments, and unforgettable memories.

The evening kicked off with soulful singing, dynamic dance performances, and hilarious stand-up acts, setting the stage on fire with high-energy entertainment. The prestigious MET Ratna & MET Gaurav Awards were presented by MET Founder Chairman Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, in the esteemed presence of Hon. MET Trustees Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Mr. Samir Bhujbal, Dr. Jitendra S. Wagh, and Mr. Subhash Sanas.

The event was further elevated by the presence of celebrity guests, including renowned Indian playback singer Jaspinder Narula, Bollywood actresses Bhumi Pednekar and Wamiqa Gabbi, Chetan Hansraj, Indian Film and Television actor and music composer Sidhant Kapoor, adding a touch of glamour to the night.

Adding to the excitement, a spectacular fashion show showcased the rich cultural heritage of India, with students presenting themes inspired by the epic stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

The audience was mesmerized by breathtaking acts, including aerial dance performances and a dazzling Bollywood dance sequence, marking a perfect conclusion to this grand celebration of talent, culture, and unity.

With hearts full of joy and memories to cherish, MET Utsav 2025 ended on a high note, leaving everyone eagerly awaiting the next edition!
