Dr. Farida Virani, Head, MET Incubation Centre and Prof. Flavia Gonsalves, along with MCA students at MET Institute of Computer Science, demonstrated an IoT - based Healthcare Monitoring System to the students visiting from Western College of Commerce and Business Management.

As a Part of MET Incubation Centre’s outreach program, the initiative aimed to inspire students to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship. The IoT device, which monitors vital health parameters like blood pressure in real-time, sparked insightful discussions among attendees, highlighting MET’s dedication to fostering talent and using technology for societal impact.

A delegation of media stalwarts visited MET Chairman, Mr. Chhagan Bhujbal, on May 11, 2024. The discussions centered around various topics of mutual interest and concerns.

MCA students of MET Institute of Computer Science developed a consultancy project ‘IoT-Based Healthcare Monitoring System’ at MET Incubation Centre under the guidance of Dr. Arun Raaza, led by Dr. Farida Virani, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Prof. Flavia Gonsalves, Assistant Professor at MET ICS.

This interdisciplinary initiative bridges MET Institutes of Computer Science and Management. The project aims to create a reliable, user-friendly, portable IoT-based blood pressure monitor to help rural patients track their vitals and share the data with remote medical practitioners. During a demonstration to the NAAC peer team, the project received high praise and valuable suggestions for enhancement.

Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal of MET Institute of Computer Science, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Best Principal Award’ at the Higher Education ICON Awards 2024 (HEICON 2024).
