MET Institute of Computer Science is excited to announce a major milestone: the signing of an MoU between MKCL (Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited) and Mumbai Educational Trust, encompassing MET Institute of Computer Science.

This partnership underscores MET’s dedication to equipping students with cutting-edge tools and resources through MKCL\'s innovative iLike Credit Courses. These courses will empower MET students with industry-relevant skills, spark creativity, and prepare them to excel in the ever-evolving professional world.

On 28th July 2024, students from MET Institute of Computer Science (MET-ICS) participated in a beach cleaning activity at Juhu Beach, organized by the Khushiyaan Foundation.

Equipped with throwaway bags and gloves, the students worked tirelessly and gathered different kinds of plastic waste. They considerably reduced pollution and supported the theme of ecological preservation. Their efforts paid off with a cleaner beach and enlightening conversations with personnel in charge of beach cleanup.

This program demonstrated the effectiveness of community-oriented activities in resolving environmental problems. It reaffirms the dedication of MET-ICS to encourage our students to take responsibility for the environment to ensure a sustainable future.

Today, under the guidance of MET Trustees, a movie screening initiative was organised by MET HR Department. Approximately 300 MET Staff & Students watched the movie, ‘Satyashodhak’, a biographical journey through the life of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. A must watch inspiring film!

Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS & Dr. Harshali Patil, Assistant Professor, MET ICS received appreciation as ‘Exemplary Reviewer Award’ at 2022 IEEE Pune Section’s International Conference - IEEE PuneCon 2022 held during 15-17th December 2022.

MET Institute of Computer Science initiated ‘Activity Based learning’ to facilitate innovative and practical learning experience to the MCA students through various activities. As a part of this initiative an activity ‘Machine in a Bag’ was conducted to provide insights on Computational Thinking, Computational Modelling Abstraction and Designing Intelligent Machines.

The activity was an adaptation of Peter Duckers Activity designed at Queens Mary School, London. Students were divided in seven groups and each group designed an artificial brain with students taking on the role of sensory neurons, relay neurons and motor neurons. The teams competed against each other to play classic card game ‘Snap’. The students were enthralled to participate in this activity and shared positive feedback about their learning.

Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET Institute of Computer Science secured the ‘Best Paper Award’ for the paper entitled, ‘Query Optimization in Big Data using Hive Query Optimization Techniques’ in International Conference on Trends in Engineering, Applied Science and Management (IC Team 2022) on 8th & 9th April, 2022 organized by St. John College of Engineering and Management, Palgarh, Maharashtra, India.
