Dr. Bandoo Chhagan Chatale, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, MET Institute of Pharmacy delivered a research presentation on \'Glucose-responsive Insulin patch to combat Diabetes\' at Parul Institute of Pharmacy & Research, Parul University, Gujrat, India via zoom platform on 6th September 2022 at 02:30 pm.
The presentation encompassed the formulation of a novel microneedle patch with sensors for glucose detection. The new delivery system is a wearable compact small device with the application of Artificial Intelligence. The formulation consists of a compact device for quick and accurate sensitive determination of glucose levels in Diabetic patients. The sensor is equipped to detect the glucose level in the blood and release the required dose of insulin to the patient.

The Innovation Cell and IQAC of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organised a webinar titled, Undergraduate Research Projects: Strategic Ways of Implementation†on 18th January 2021. The idea behind the webinar was to educate undergraduate students on the proper ways of carrying out a research project. The speaker, Mr. Amit Lokhande is AICTE/MHRD’s IIC – Innovation Ambassador, Government of India and has received many awards during his PhD tenure. He is especially known for his expertise in mentoring undergraduate research projects. He emphasized that research should not merely be a learning process but should produce outcomes that contribute to the welfare of the society. Through his unique style of presentation that involved diagrams, pictures and videos, and apt examples he made Research look easy. He enlightened the student about the research area, computer aided drug discovery and his very own 6Q strategy. All benefited from it immensely.
Student Innovations and Journey of a business Idea – An interactive webinar

The Innovation Cell and IQAC of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organised a webinar titled, “Student Innovations and Journey of Business Idea†on 25th January 2021. The webinar was organized to help students understand the importance of Innovation and how to scale up their ideas and turn them to successful businesses. Mr. Amit Lokhande who is AICTE/MHRD’s IIC – Innovation Ambassador, Government of India, was the speaker. He not only managed to capture the attention of the audience and got them thinking about the ways to become the CEO of their own ideas. He shared his journey of the product PREGA-VET, the obstacles he faced. He explained the benefits, myths about business ideas, entry barriers, planning well and various funding avenues. All the doubts were answered promptly with practical experience. The webinar proved to be a thought provoking session hopefully resulting in many more budding entrepreneurs.

The Social awareness and Cultural committee along with IPA members of METIOP (Degree) conducted a Webinar on the topics Physical and Eye exercises, m-RNA Vaccine and testing of Covid-19, Importance of breastfeeding on 8th August 2020 by the students of second and third year B. Pharm.
The session started off with the need to exercise in this crucial hour, and its impact (physically and mentally), followed by m-RNA Vaccine in terms of its mechanism, timeline, advantages and side effects. Another topic discussed was various methods and techniques that come along with Covid 19 testing in India. The World Breastfeeding Week being on 1st – 7th August, the students took this opportunity to spread the importance about breastfeeding. Health Secretaries of the student council explained about the history, purpose, importance, benefits of breastfeeding along with adverse effects on infants who are not being.
Minding the Mind in the wake of COVID-19

Social Awareness Committee & IQAC Cell along with IPA members of Mumbai Educational Trust Institute of Pharmacy conducted a webinar on positive mental health titled \"Minding the mind in wake of Covid-19\" by Dr. Devanshi Jhalani (BHMS, MSc. Psychology and CCAPP), on 29th August 2020. The speaker tried to educate the audience on dealing with mental stress and depression. She also asked everyone to understand that there should be no stigma associated with mental health disorders and taught various ways to deal with various emotions during these pandemic times.

IQAC and Entrepreneurship cell organized a webinar of Dr Aditya Pattani, partner, Nanoxpert, on the topic “Opportunities in regional chemical regulations for pharmacist†on 28th June 2020. In his talk he appraised the students of various interdisciplinary roles that exist for pharmacists as they have sound technical and chemical knowledge Further he elaborated on chemical safety aspects, MSDS, labeling of chemical containers, steps in development of chemical safety, dossiers and REACH program existing in various. Finally he urged the students to take non-core pharmacy subjects like EVS, computer application, statistics, management etc seriously as expertise in these subjects can add to their list of opportunities. Students were thrilled to know such new avenues for new businesses as well with their set of domain knowledge.

IQAC and Alumni cell as part of a webinar series of career guidance organized a talk of alumna, Ms. Shweta Nagwekar on 28th June 2020 on the topic “Career prospects in Drug regulatory affairs in the USAâ€. Ms. Shweta graduated in 2009 and pursued MS in regulatory affairs and executive MBA in the USA. She has over 6 years of experience in regulatory affairs. Currently, she working as Manager, Global Regulatory Affairs CMC at Amgen, West Greenwich, RI, USA. During her talk, Ms. Shweta focused on higher studies in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the USA. She explained the steps to be taken for pursuing your studies abroad. She narrated the role of regulatory affairs in the pharma industry, medical devices, career opportunities for regulatory affairs- how to search, what steps are critical were elaborated and all questions were answered elaborately.

IQAC and Alumni cell organized a webinar of alumna, Ms. Shruti Sawant on 28th June 2020. She guided the undergraduates on ‘Recent trends in Pharmaceutical Research’. She briefed about program selection, pre-admission tips to shortlist universities in the US, funding options, course work standing, and standard examinations. She elaborated how to write the statement of purpose and importance of GPA. She also discussed a few research tips about writing research reviews and publications. She also touched upon topics such as learning tools of the trade, databases, publishers, how to build new ideas, literature survey and method of optimization, collaborations, product and time management.

She is currently working as a Business Development Specialist in the derma-cosmeceutical industry, at Western Commercial Corporation. She explained many options available after post graduation in pharmaceutical chemistry and the working of the Pharma excipient industry. The session was very interactive and motivating for the students.

Ms.Pooja has completed her graduation in Pharmacy from MET Institute of Pharmacy. Ms. Pooja is presently working as Assistant manager in Bliss GVS Pharma and technical Business development manager in Mandar Organics Pvt Ltd. She discussed various topics such as generic formulation development, product tracking, operation product transfer, R&D product management, QBD based development and design of experiment. She also discussed various career opportunities for pharma graduates in these fields.
