Faculty Oral Paper Presentation at International Conference

Dr. Bandoo Chhagan Chatale, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) delivered two research oral paper presentations entitled ‘The screening of milk protein for taste masking of risperidone (RIS) using molecular modelling and its interactions studies of RIS with sodium caseinate (NaCAS) by molecular modelling, fluorometric method its rat palatability for taste assessment’ and ‘Fragment Based Drug Design (FBDD) of an exemplar inhibitor against spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2’ at the International Conference on Current Trends in Drug Delivery, Development and Delivery (CTD4-2022) held on 21st and 22nd October 2022, organised by K. L College of Pharmacy, K.L. Deemed to be University, Green Field, Vaddeswaram, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Chatale was honoured with the Certificate of Appreciation for securing a place in the oral paper presentation competition.

Ms. Sindhu Menon, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) presented a research paper at International Seminar organized as part of 4th Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF 2021) Virtual Conference and Expo scheduled during 12th – 19th March 2021.
Topic of her research was ‘A validated HPTLC method for the simultaneous estimation of mangiferin and gallic acid in polyherbal formulation’.

Ms. Sindhu Menon, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) presented a research paper at the International Conference on Drug Discovery and Development and Genetics, Genomics and Personalized Medicine, 3rd World Congress on Drug Discovery & Development-2021 organized by Biogenesis Health Cluster, Bangalore on 21st February 2021.
Topic of her research was Simultaneous estimation of mangiferin, berberine, gallic acid and quercetin in a polyherbal formulation by a novel HPTLC method.
Seminar on the Future prospects after B. Pharm

METIOP (Degree) organized a future prospects session for the students on 13th July, 2019. It was organized to shed light on the dilemma that every student faces…their future. The guest speakers were Mr. Krutin Chaturvedi and Mrs. Prachi Bhagat, alumni of the Institute of Pharmacy and members of the Industry Institute Partnership Cell. Choosing a path which will lead to success is a real challenge. They guided the students by setting their own lives as examples. They spoke on various topics such as availability of opportunities, diversities in job, accepting failure and most importantly finding what one loves to do. The seminar was concluded by a vote of thanks given by Dr. Abha Doshi and a positive feedback from the students.
Living the Healthy Life

A two days symposium titled “Complicated Lifestyle - Lifestyle complications†was organized on 14th and 15th December 2018 by MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree). Aimed to tackle the issues of the youth, the sessions had a nice blend of eminent speakers.
The first day dealt with youth and the lifestyle problems like nutrition and diabetes by Dr. Pradeep Gadge, a Diabetes & Nutrition Expert, ill-effects of noise by Mrs. Deepa Valame, an Audiologist and the day ended with an amazing interactive and fun filled quiz session for the students by Dr. Tushar Shah, a famous Physician in Mumbai. The second day was a mixed bag of music and its healing power by Mr. Roshan Mansukhani, a holistic music healer followed by an interactive session on current issues faced by students of like anxiety & depression by Ms. Ana Khan, a Psychologist & Counsellor. The symposium ended with Dr. Mukesh Gupta, an Obstetrician guiding students on Anger Management. The students took away valuable insights which will help them lead a healthy and stress-free lifestyle. A poster competition too was held for students, which was judged by external Pharmacy faculty members. An insightful and valuable symposium indeed.
Lifestyle Changes: An Essential

The students of MET Institute of Pharmacy attended a seminar on ‘Lifestyle changes important in our lives’ on 28th July 2018 hosted by Dr. L. H. Hiranandani Hospital. Eminent doctors gave insights on problems faced by the current youth like smoking and addiction to nicotine emphasizing on importance of exercise. The seminar was followed by Yoga exercises encouraging students to take up healthy habits.
