MET IOP students showcased remarkable excellence at Rx Aryavarta, hosted by IPA MSB SF from March 22nd to 24th, 2024. Their participation spanned diverse events, including buzzword, Pharmaquiz, scientific poster presentation, oral paper presentation, into your shoes, convince me, group dance, fashion show and indoor sports.

Ms. Sharvani Pednekar (Final year student) won second prize in ‘Student of the Year Contest\'.

Ms. Priyanka Singh and Ms. Nidhi Mishra (Third year students) secured 1st place in Oral Paper Presentation. Mr. Dharmendra Purohit, Ms. Khatija Khan and Mr. Mahesh Chavan (Third year students) secured 1st place whereas Ms. Kimaya Palav, Ms. Shristi Shetty, Ms. Rishika Potam and Ms. Jinali Faria (Third year students) secured 3rd place in Scientific Poster Presentation. Mr. Aniket Khamkar ( Third year student) secured 3rd prize in carrom (singles) competition.

Additionally, the students of MET IOP performed a dance themed ‘Shri Ram’ and participated in a fashion show themed ‘Angels v/s Devils’, earning 3rd prize in both events. MET IOP also achieved the 2nd runner-up position in the ‘Best Technical’ category.

Faculty members, Dr. Sunanda Patil provided her expertise as a judge for the oral paper presentation segment, while Dr. Bhagyashri Joshi presided over the evaluation of scientific poster presentations.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) Final Year students Mr. Atharva Mandhare and Mr. Pratham Mahato secured the First Prize at the prestigious 22nd State level Pharmaquiz Competition hosted by Saraswati Vidya Bhavan College of Pharmacy, Dombivli on February 24, 2024. The Pharma Quiz was based on various pharmaceutical principles & drug therapies, designed to enable students to think from different angles or simply ‘to think out of the box’. Outshining four finalists, they emerged victorious after two intense elimination rounds, showcasing their exceptional knowledge and skills in the final round to secure the top spot winning a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.

MET Institute of Pharmacy is thrilled to share the outstanding news of students\' success in the 18th Aavishkar Competition held by Mumbai University, particularly in the category of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Student\'s remarkable research project titled \"Herbal Ease Clovinger Veterinary Patch\" has received the prestigious first rank, marking a significant achievement.

This success is a testament to the relentless dedication and hard work of our talented participants: Miss Pallavi Shinde, Mr. Yasir Hasan Ansari, and Miss Bharvi Patil, guided by the invaluable mentorship of Dr. Vijaya Patil. Their innovative project exemplifies the pinnacle of excellence and innovation in the field.

METizens have also won the consolation prize in the pure science category, guided by Dr Rashmi Srivastav and Dr. Vijaya Patil. This accomplishment not only elevates the reputation of our institution but also highlights our commitment to fostering groundbreaking research initiatives and nurturing exceptional talent within our academic community.

Guided by Ms. Manjiri Shinde, three final-year students—Mr. Pratham Mahato, Ms. Mansi Gupta, and Ms. Sharvari Desai—secured the second position in the Pharmazest intercollegiate oral presentation hosted at Dr. L. H. Hiranandani College of Pharmacy on October 14. From a pool of 33 presenter groups, these students, who successfully navigated the virtual screening phase, advanced to the final round along with eight other groups. Their presentation titled \"Resisting Resistance: Herbal Approach in Cancer Therapy\" delved into the analysis of resistance mechanisms, cancer statistics, and the potential advantages of incorporating herbal medicines in cancer therapy. Furthermore, they shed light on ongoing clinical research and the potential benefits of herbal interventions. The evaluators were notably impressed by the students\' presentation skills and the thoroughness of their review.

MET Institute of Pharmacy collaborated with Tata Memorial Hospital to host a Blood Donation Drive on the MET Campus, which received an enthusiastic turnout of blood donors from the Mumbai Educational Trust community, including students, faculty and staff.

Donating blood is a noble act that has the power to save lives and make a meaningful contribution to society.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), Mumbai participated and presented 9 innovative projects in CIIA -2, which was held from 1st - 3rd February 2023 at Nehru Centre Worli.
The inauguration of CIIA was done by Padmabhushan, M.M Sharma and Chief guest for the award ceremony was Padmabhushan Prof. J.B.Joshi. The event was also graced by Mr. Samir Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET. During the event, a team from MET Institute of Engineering, MET Bhujbal Knowledge City, Nashik also participated and presented their innovation.
The top 100 innovative projects were selected for exhibition from 700 projects submitted to “CIIA-Inter-Institution Students Innovations Exhibition & Competition (CIISIEC)”. These were evaluated by an eminent Jury Panel.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), along with the \'MET Pharma Eco Catalysts\' and DLLE students, actively participated in a Tree Plantation and Habitat Restoration Drive on September 30, 2023. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with two organizations, namely the \'GAIA Conservation Foundation\' and \'Arcil,\' within the premises of Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

The GAIA Conservation Foundation (GCF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating climate change through afforestation projects in Mumbai. Their primary mission is to counteract climate change by planting trees.

Mr. Swapnil Sonwane from the Gaia Conservation Foundation provided guidance and explained the significance of the tree plantation and habitat restoration drive to all the participating second and third-year B. Pharm students.

During this drive, approximately 400 saplings were planted, which included a variety of tree species such as Karanj (Indian Beech/ Pongamia pinnata), Ponga (Silver fern/ Cyathea dealbata), Jarul (Queen Crepe Myrtle/ Lagerstroemia speciose), Arjun (Terminalia arjuna), Jamun (Java plum/ Syzygium cumini), Shisum (North Indian rosewood/ Dalbergia sissoo) and Mango (Mangifera indica). These diverse trees will contribute to the creation of a suitable habitat for various living organisms, ultimately forming a more robust forest ecosystem.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) students received many prizes in Rx Ekansh organized by IPA-MSB-SF on 10th March, 2023. The Rx gave students many opportunities to explore and express their creative minds. They took part in a range of activities, including Pharmaquiz, Oral Paper Presentation, Scientific Poster presentation, Into your shoes, Buzzword, Treasure hunt, Fashion show, Dance competition and Rangoli competition.

Nidhi Mishra and Priyanka Singh (Second year students) secured first prize in Oral Paper Presentation. Vedika Pimple, Sakshi Prabhu and Atharva Mandhare (Third year students) secured Third prize in Scientific Poster Presentation. Mugdha Salvi (Third year student) secured Second prize in Buzzword. Aditya Daware (Final year student) won second prize in ‘Student of the Year contest’ and got the trophy for the position of Chairperson of IPA-MSB-SF as well.

MET IOP (Degree) students presented a dance performance based on the theme ‘Shiva’ and were rewarded home with a special prize.

MET Institute of Pharmacy organised a health check-up camp for MET staff on 24th September 2022 in association with Cipla Limited.
The checkup included a random sugar test, blood pressure test, lung function test and vision test. At the camp students of D. Pharm were given demonstrations of various devices used for different tests which enabled students to grasp the basic knowledge of devices used for need-based specialised facilities. Approximately, 75+ MET staff members benefited from the Health Checkup Camp.

An Industrial Visit at Vivatest Research and Development Pvt Ltd, Vasai was conducted on 28th September 2022 for the Final Year B. Pharm students of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree). VivaTech is involved in the research-based Drug Delivery Technology to develop generic, OTC, and nutraceutical products.
The Industrial Visit was organised to give Pharmacy students practical knowledge about the research stage of formulation development. During the visit, students were introduced to the formulation department consisting of a dispensing room, LAF unit, RMG, tablet press, stability chamber, IPQC instruments, etc. and The Analytical department with lab Instruments such as HPLC, dissolution apparatus, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, etc.
This visit proved to be very beneficial for the students as they learned about the formulation process and related equipment along with the ancillary conditions and regulations required for research and development to occur.

Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) always conducts initiatives with the purpose of contributing to a social cause by making a difference in society. On 12th April 2022 MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organised a ‘Free Health Check-up Camp’ at the MET Bandra campus in association with TRN Medical Centre and Nayanam Eye Hospital.

The medical camp covered tests such as Random blood sugar, Blood pressure, Heart rate, Daily calorie intake, Body fat percentage, Muscle and Bone Mass, Body Mass Index, Body water percentage, Oxygen saturation, Metabolic age, and Eye check-ups. Nearly 110 MET faculty and staff benefited from this medical camp.
