MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) recently hosted a Blood Donation E-Poster Making Competition, receiving over 45 entries from diploma colleges across Maharashtra. Mohd Unez, a second-year D.Pharm student, earned the 2nd prize for his outstanding e-poster. He was honored by Dr. Suryakant Bhosle, Principal of MET IOP (Diploma). Congratulations to him on this remarkable achievement!

MET is delighted to announce the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between MET Incubation Centre and VISTAS, Chennai. This partnership is set to foster academic collaboration, focusing on research, publications, workshops, seminars, and knowledge exchange.

MET IOP (Degree) is excited to announce a major milestone: the signing of an MoU between MKCL (Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited) and Mumbai Educational Trust, encompassing MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree).

This partnership underscores MET’s dedication to equipping students with cutting-edge tools and resources through MKCL\'s innovative iLike Credit Courses. These courses will empower MET students with industry-relevant skills, spark creativity, and prepare them to excel in the ever-evolving professional world.

MET Institute of Pharmacy organized a Health Check-up Camp for MET staff on 16th August 2024 in collaboration with Lilavati Hospital. The camp covered tests such as Random blood sugar, Blood Pressure, Eye Check-up, Dental Check-up, ECG along with Doctor’s Consultations. About 122 MET staff members benefited from this Health Camp.

On August 3, 2024, the Green Club of the MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organized a poster-making competition focused on the themes of climate change and water management. A significant number of participants contributed to the competition, creating innovative posters that illustrated the causes, effects, and potential solutions to climate change. The importance of water management, a pressing contemporary issue, was effectively highlighted by all participants.

The winners of the competition are:

First prize- Ms.Gauri Chandak and Ms.Swatee Chindankar

Second prize- Mr.Kartik Narkhede and Ms.Aditi Nijapkar

Third Prize- Ms.Anshita Modi and Junaid Naik

The primary objective of this competition was to raise awareness regarding climate change and water management through the creative expressions of students. Additionally, it offered a valuable platform for students to demonstrate their artistic and visualization skills.

On 9th August 2024, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organized an alumnus interaction with Dr. Roshan Kulkarni. He shared his insights into various areas of pharmaceutical science, including NMR spectroscopy and combinatorial chemistry. He highlighted the growing significance of the herb and Ayurvedic food business, particularly in the field of phytopharmaceuticals, discussing the role of beauty products within health supplements, especially in niche markets like nutraceuticals.

Instead of relying solely on conventional medications, he advocated for the application of products like Gulkand for its anti-cough properties. He provided guidance and cleared doubts, inspiring students to pursue these specialized fields with confidence and clarity.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) proudly clinched the second runner-up trophy at the CIIA 3 (Creative Ideas Innovative Action) innovation awards, held at Mumbai\'s Nehru Centre on February 2, 2024. The prestigious award was bestowed by Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan Anil Kakodkar, alongside esteemed guests Padma Bhushan Prof. J.B Joshi and Dr. Abhay Jere. Special recognition goes to lead innovator Ms. Kashmira Chaudhari and her team—Daksha Chache, Ankita Panda, Bharvi Patil, and Aditya Kathale–whose project was mentored by Dr. Bandoo Chatale.

Five projects from MET Institute of Pharmacy were showcased at CIIA 3, underscoring the institution\'s commitment to innovation. Heartfelt congratulations are extended to all project students and mentors for their outstanding presentations, which exemplified brilliance and forward-thinking, enriching the culture of innovation.

Gratitude is extended to trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal and Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal for their unwavering support, providing the necessary infrastructure, equipment, and chemicals for innovation and research endeavors.

The intercollegiate quiz competition was organized by Shivajirao S. Jondhle College of Pharmacy, Asangaon, on July 20, 2024, focusing on “Emerging Trends in Pharmacy.”

Ms. Nidhi Mishra, a final-year student from MET Institute of Pharmacy, excelled, securing third prize with her extensive knowledge and quick thinking. Her achievement highlighted the high standard of education at MET IOP.

The quiz successfully promoted awareness of the latest trends in pharmacy, providing a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge and engage with peers. The event concluded with an award ceremony celebrating the winners and participants for their dedication.

Dr. Bandoo Chatale, Assistant Professor at MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), Mumbai, presented his research work titled \"Understanding Taste Perception using Molecular Modelling\" at GNC Nexus and the USF Taneja College of Pharmacy’s MS in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology program, hosted by USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy, Graduate Programs, University of South Florida, USA, on July 1, 2024, virtually.

Ms. Khatija Khan and Mr. Dharmendra Purohit, final-year students of MET Institute of Pharmacy, actively participated in the Med-Matrix 2024 National E-Poster and Oral Presentation competition held by Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Pharmacy, Kolhapur, on July 22, 2024. They presented their poster on \"Exploration of Traditional and Herbal Medicine,\" which won first prize and a cash award of Rs. 2,000. Out of 20 competing posters, theirs was selected among the top 5, ultimately securing the top position. Their presentation focused on the scientific basis and therapeutic potential of various traditional medicine systems.

Today, under the guidance of MET Trustees, a movie screening initiative was organised by MET HR Department. Approximately 300 MET Staff & Students watched the movie, ‘Satyashodhak’, a biographical journey through the life of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. A must watch inspiring film!
