AMDC EMBA Students Drive Post-Visarjan Beach Clean-Up at Juhu

On September 7, 2025, after the Ganpati Visarjan celebrations, the students of the MET Asian Management Development Centre (AMDC) carried out a meaningful beach clean-up initiative at Juhu. The activity focused on addressing the non-biodegradable waste generated during the immersion process, with the aim of restoring the beach’s natural environment and promoting sustainable practices.

The initiative rejuvenated the coastal ecosystem while reinforcing the importance of responsible celebrations, effective waste management, and collective civic action. Event

As part of the Basics of Banking lecture, PGP EMBA students from the MET Asian Management Development Centre (MET AMDC) visited HDFC Bank, Fort Branch. The event was organized by Prof. Nisha Chhabria, former Vice President of HDFC Bank, with the aim of complementing classroom learning through practical exposure to the operations of a leading financial institution.

On 24th August 2025, MET AMDC EMBA students gained valuable real-world exposure by volunteering at Tamasha Factory’s Mic Drop event, hosted at Lord of the Drinks, Worli. The platform offered them first-hand experience of the dynamic pace and challenges of a live entertainment show while contributing to its seamless execution.

Their roles spanned artist coordination, backstage facilitation, audience interaction, and operational support, giving them a holistic view of event and celebrity management. This immersive engagement not only enhanced their practical understanding of event logistics but also reinforced essential managerial skills such as teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism—vital for future leaders in the field.

Academia - Industry Interface Seminar

Prof. Arun Patil, Dean, MET Asian Management Development Centre, participated in Academia–Industry Interface Seminar with the theme ‘The Role of Human Recourses in Insurance Industry’, organized by Insurance Institute of India.

As a panelist for the subject ‘Expectations of the Industry from academic Institutions’, Prof. Arun Patil informed the audience, consisting of about 75 CEO’s, Senior officials from Insurance Companies and III Academicians, about the Insurance courses run by MET since 2005. He also emphasized upon the need of collective efforts for enhancing the image of Insurance Industry to attract suitable talent. He envisaged the Insurance Industry playing an extremely crucial role in making India a financial super power by 2047. His contribution was widely appreciated.

Workshop on Corporate Governance

On August 9, 2024 Ms. Anita Chauhan, Certified Training partner of Global Reporting Initiative, Amsterdam 2024, sustainability trainer at the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability, conducted a half-day workshop on \"Corporate Governance\" for the MET AMDC students of batch 2023-25.

The students found the workshop very interactive, where they discussed the critical importance of ethics and governance in business. The conference emphasized how Corporate Governance (CG) shapes a company\'s DNA, promoting sustainability and stability by developing social, ecological, and economic value.

Students were awarded certificates of participation.

SEMINAR on MARKETING & COMMUNICATION IN FINANCIAL PRODUCT

On 16th of November, 2024, MET AMDC hosted Mr. Rahul Dighe, Assistant Vice President of Nippon India, for a guest lecture on Marketing & Communication in Financial Product, focusing on mutual funds. Mr. Dighe explained the basics of mutual funds and their role in growing wealth. He also talked about the importance of managing money wisely, highlighting how proper planning can lead to financial security. He encouraged students to save early, invest thoughtfully, and focus on their long-term financial goals.

The session also discussed how technology is changing the mutual fund industry and the rising interest in sustainable investing. Mr. Dighe shared real life case studies to make the ideas clear and easy to understand.

Students actively participated in the session, asking questions about finance and career opportunities, making it an engaging and valuable experience.

MET AMDC organized a seminar on Mutual Funds on Friday 6th Sept 2024 led by Ms. Neha Goyani, a financial expert from Franklin Templeton. The session highlighted the importance of investing for financial security and future goals, emphasizing why investment is necessary in today\'s world.

Ms. Neha explained the power of compounding, illustrating how small, regular investments can multiply over time and significantly increase wealth. She made it clear that consistent investment, even in smaller amounts, can have a long-term impact due to the compounding effect.

The benefits of Mutual Fund investments were also discussed. She outlined how they offer professional management and portfolio diversification, making them a convenient choice for many investors.

She stressed the importance of early investment, encouraging students to start their financial journey sooner to maximize wealth creation and achieve their financial objectives. The session provided valuable insights for students to begin investing wisely.

MET Asian Management Development Centre conducted a seminar on ‘International Management Careers in Europe’ on 6th February 2023, at Mumbai Educational Trust, Bhujbal Knowledge City, Bandra (W).

Dr. Anthony Erb, Dean, Academics & International Marketing Head, BHMS, Switzerland and Mr. Giovanni Rebai, Sr. International Marketing Manager, BHMS, Switzerland addressed the prospective students who came from different colleges in Mumbai.

The seminar was also attended by Ms. Chitra Roy, India & SAARC Head, BHMS, Dr. Rajev Sharma, MD, TASA Asia and Mr. Venket Iyer, Marketing Head, TASA Asia. The programme was arranged by Dr. Nirmala Joshi, Head - Research & MET SEVA, MET IOM and Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Director, MET AMDC.

Mr. Anthony along with Mr. Giovanni highlighted upon the global opportunities available for education now as well as career-building and guaranteed paid internship for 9 months in Switzerland. Unlocking the Potential for a Resilient Future attended by Prof. Arun Patil

Prof. Arun Patil, Dean, MET AMDC, played a pivotal role as both the keynote speaker and a panelist at a conference focused on the Insurance and Reinsurance Industry. This event was organized by the Maharashtra Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and revolved around the theme of \'Unleashing the Potential for a Resilient Future.\' During his presentation to an audience consisting of 350 insurance professionals and students, Prof. Patil shared several insightful ideas, including the importance of ethical selling, the customization of insurance products based on individual needs, the significance of bolstering domain expertise, and the benefits of collaborative efforts to expand the reach and improve the reputation of the insurance industry.

Furthermore, he highlighted MET AMDC\'s two-decade-long track record of providing exceptional insurance professionals to the CII and BFSI sectors. Professor Patil\'s concise and impactful presentation garnered widespread acclaim.

Mumbai Educational Trust organised a guest lecture about the \'World of VFX\' in collaboration with Incube8 and Fractal Picture for the students of MET Asian Management Development Centre (MET AMDC), MET Institute of Computer Science (MET ICS), MET Institute of Mass Media (MET IMM) and MET Institute of Information Technology (MET IIT) on 4th February 2023.

The Incube8 team was welcomed by Mr. Sapan Shrestha, Project Manager, Fractal Picture, MET AMDC Alumni Mr. Aijaz Rashid, Business Head - VFX and Commercials, Fractal Picture, Mr. Behram Patel, Python Developer, Fractal Picture and MET IMM Alumni Ms. Ritika Doshi, Digital Operations Manager, BabyG App.

The guests were felicitated by Dr. Sangeeta Tondon, Director, MET AMDC, Dr. Abhijit Banubakode, Principal, MET ICS, Mr. Sanjay Sakharkar, Director, MET IMM and Mr. Nitin Patil, Course Coordinator - DACA, MET IIT.

The Incube8 team initiated a presentation on the differences between Computer Graphics and delved into the world of VFX. Mr. Rashid demonstrated how VFX is used in TV commercials and ran a showreel of their prestigious work in the industry. Mr. Soni explained the VFX process & its stages and how students are trained at Incube8. Mr. Shrestha presented their company’s infrastructure and training facilities. Mr. Patel discussed the importance of Python coders in VFX work and why they need it in the industry. Lastly, Ms. Doshi shared her experience with the Fractal Picture.

The students of DACA showcased their Animation projects. The seminar ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Banubakode.
