Global Mentors\' Conclave in Dubai

Prof. Arun Patil, Dean, MET Asian Management Development Centre (AMDC), visited Dubai to be the Chief Guest of a Global Mentors’ Conclave of about 150 teachers from all over the world. After felicitating ‘The Best Mentors’, Prof. Patil enumerated various qualities required in a Global Mentors in view of the technological advances in the rapidly changing world scenario.

He concluded by saying that despite an avalanche of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, a holistic mentor and a compassionate teacher can never ever be replaced in their role of developing a complete and balanced Human Being. That is essential for sustainable development of the world and all-round progress of mankind.

Prof. Patil also met about Fifteen MET Alumni working in Dubai and holding senior positions in various sectors. He reviewed their career progress and counselled them about their future career path. He also discussed with a few prominent industry leaders the possibilities of placements for MET students in Dubai.

MET Asian Management Development Centre hosted an extremely intriguing faculty meet on 5th July 2025, comprising seasoned industry experts who form the core faculty and bring their rich expertise and experience to the institute.

Dr. Sangeeta Tandon, Director, MET AMDC, set the tone with her gracious address by introducing Bhujbal Knowledge City’s MET League of Colleges and highlighting the rich legacy of three decades through MET AMDC.

Dr. Tandon acknowledged and thanked the faculty for their contribution to syllabus updation, live projects, and placement opportunities, calling the team the backbone of the institution. She emphasized that the synergy between industry and academia is crucial for empowering students with relevant skills for professional life.

The session was further elevated by Prof. Arun Patil, Dean, MET AMDC, who shared sharp insights on the role of faculty as influencers and the importance of discipline throughout the course. He also stressed the guided use of technology as a tool for education and career building.

The house was then opened for discussion, debate, and suggestions, followed by a sumptuous meal. It was an excellent platform for engagement, creating vibrancy and energy for the upcoming academic season.

Esteemed alumni from diverse sectors shared their professional journeys, offering the incoming batch practical insights and actionable career guidance.

The distinguished panel featured Mr. Abhishek Seth, AVP – Risk and Control Officer at Barclays; Ms. Arti Talreja, Senior Manager – HR at Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd.; Ms. Alisha Shamim, Deputy Manager at Tribeca Developers; Ms. Safa Rais, Sales Executive at Taj Lands End; and Ms. Shikha Jethwani, Assistant Marketing Manager at Globonic Technology Pvt. Ltd. Their candid discussions extended beyond classroom knowledge, addressing industry expectations, real-world challenges, and the shifting dynamics of their fields.

Key themes that resonated with students included adaptability, continuous learning, networking, and the importance of soft skills. The speakers further emphasized resilience and ethical leadership as defining attributes for success in today’s competitive corporate environment.

MET Incubation Centre hosted ‘Alumni Entrepreneurship Round Table’, uniting alumni with entrepreneurial experience across MET Institutes and graduating years.

Convened by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean, MET Incubation Centre, the session focused on a rich exchange of ideas and insights to strengthen the campus startup and innovation ecosystem.

The collaborative discussion will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic plan, startup roadmap, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the upcoming academic year. A key takeaway from the round table was the proposal to form an Alumni Mentor Pool — aimed at providing structured guidance and mentorship to student-led ventures.
