This visit was more than an educational journey; it was a transformative experience that highlighted the pivotal role pharmacists play in healthcare. Exploring the intricate processes of the hospital pharmacy and CSSD brought classroom learning to life. From the vibrant color-coded labeling system to the meticulous management of emergency medications and secure handling of high-risk drugs, the responsibilities of a pharmacist became crystal clear.

The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organized a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on \"Future of Pharma: AI and Bio-AI Technologies in Action\" on 14th September 2024. The event saw participation from around 35 faculty members representing various institutions across the Mumbai region.

Led by industry experts, entrepreneurs, and AI professionals, the FDP showcased the latest advancements and applications of AI in pharmacy research, with a focus on improving research outcomes and enhancing educational effectiveness.

The program kicked off with a session on AI-Driven Drug Discovery by Mr. Alok Ranjan, offering insights into how machine learning algorithms can analyze vast datasets to identify potential drug candidates, significantly reducing both time and cost in the drug discovery process. This was followed by a deep dive from Mr. Rishi Nagar, who explored the role of AI in analyzing biological data to develop innovative healthcare solutions for more precise therapies and a better understanding of complex biological processes.

A hands-on training session by Mr. Omprakash Mandage provided participants with practical experience in using AI tools and platforms for data analysis and research applications. The program was highly appreciated by all faculty participants, who found it to be both informative and impactful.

Mumbai Educational Trust conducted a comprehensive mock firefighting exercise on July 24, 2024, to strengthen emergency preparedness across the campus. The session was led by Mr. Sujeet Prabhughate, a fire safety expert, and saw active participation from faculty and students.

Mr. Prabhughate provided hands-on training in operating firefighting equipment, following proper evacuation protocols, and ensuring clear communication during emergencies. Participants practiced safe evacuation procedures and extinguishing controlled fires, gaining valuable real-world experience and confidence.

This educational initiative reinforced the importance of fire safety awareness and ensured that the MET community is better prepared to respond effectively to potential emergency situations.

All the students enrolled for DLLE from the second, third and final year were all attending the session. The event started with the university song. Dr. Shrima Banerjee directed an informative session, guiding and motivating students regarding various activities of DLLE and how to go about them. This session helped the students to understand their role as individuals for uplifting the society and gain helpful insights for the future. MET Fest 2024 kicked off with grandeur and excitement as Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee of Mumbai Educational Trust, and Mrs. Vishakha Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, inaugurated the event amidst MET students, faculty, and staff. Over the course of three days, the festival showcased a diverse range of activities, including Creative Exhibitions, engaging Workshops, thrilling Competitions, a spectacular Talent Show, and an action-packed Sports Day.

The festival commenced with a Creative Exhibition displaying exceptional artworks by MET students, faculty, and staff. Workshops such as fashion photography, salad-making, and urban gardening provided hands-on learning experiences, promoting creativity, healthy living, and sustainability.

Day two witnessed innovative endeavors such as the Best out of Waste competition, where METizens showcased their creativity by transforming discarded materials into stunning creations. Additionally, participants challenged themselves at the Escape Room, testing their problem-solving skills and teamwork.

The highlight of MET Fest 2024 was the Talent Show, featuring mesmerizing performances ranging from classical dance invocations to sensational singing, showcasing the immense talent within the MET community.

The festival concluded on a high note with the inauguration of the Annual Sports Day, symbolizing unity, sportsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence. Amidst the growing global water scarcity driven by a combination of increasing population and the impacts of climate change, the urgency of water conservation has become paramount. Recognizing this pressing need, UNICEF has taken action by establishing Green clubs in every college, with the objective of promoting water conservation. A training session focusing on this initiative was recently conducted at Government Polytechnic College, Bandra East.

The training session was led by Dr. Vijaya Patil, a faculty member at METIOP (degree), who is an expert in the field, along with Dr. Hansa Jeswani and Mrs. Rhutuja Shinde. The event was attended by Ms. Manjiri Shinde and other program officers from the college. Three faculty members from MET IOP (Degree) actively participated in a 2-day Industrial Training program focused on Technology Equipment & Processes for Oral Solid Dosage Form for Pharmacy Faculty. The training took place at ACG, Shirval, in the Process Development Lab. The daily sessions were divided into a morning lecture series and afternoon activities, including demonstrations and a visit to the shop floor. These two days were highly dynamic and filled with valuable insights.

During the training, the faculty gained knowledge about the fabrication of various equipment manufactured by ACG for the production of tablet and capsule dosage forms. Demonstrations were conducted for equipment such as FBE, Wruster coater, High shear granulator, tabletting machine, wet milling machine, air handling unit, wet scrubber, and all the quality control tests associated with tablet and capsule dosage forms. The training delved into advanced technologies, providing in-depth coverage of processes like Hot melt granulation and rotor granulator/coater, emphasizing their environmentally friendly aspects and high efficiency.

The session concluded with a talk by Dr. Sunil Bhagwat, Director-IISER Pune, focusing on strengthening the interaction between industry and academia for the benefit of students.

This workshop took place at the Guru Nanak Institute for Research and Development (GNIRD) Department, located at Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Matunga, Mumbai, on September 15th and 16th 2023. The two-day intensive program was strategically crafted to offer students valuable training and hands-on exposure to a variety of analytical instruments, fostering proficiency and comprehension in analytical practices. The workshop featured informative demonstrations of crucial analytical instruments such as UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, IR, Gas chromatography, HPTLC, and HPLC. It served as an exceptional platform for students to enhance their analytical skills.
