Alumni Guest Lecture on Overseas Careers

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) was privileged to host our alumni, Mr. Faisal Patel (currently pursuing his degree at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences), for an enlightening guest lecture on 22nd August 2025.
He shared valuable insights on Eligibility & Documentation, Financial Planning, Visa, and Licensing, guiding our second-year students aspiring to study or work abroad. His practical advice and motivating words inspired students to dream big and prepare with confidence for a global career in pharmacy.
We sincerely thank Mr. Patel for empowering our students with his knowledge and experiences!
Alumni Entrepreneurship Round Table

MET Incubation Centre hosted ‘Alumni Entrepreneurship Round Table’, uniting alumni with entrepreneurial experience across MET Institutes and graduating years.
Convened by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean, MET Incubation Centre, the session focused on a rich exchange of ideas and insights to strengthen the campus startup and innovation ecosystem.
The collaborative discussion will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic plan, startup roadmap, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the upcoming academic year. A key takeaway from the round table was the proposal to form an Alumni Mentor Pool — aimed at providing structured guidance and mentorship to student-led ventures.
MET extends sincere thanks to all Heads of Institutions (HOIs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and Incubation Faculty SPOCs for their enthusiastic participation and continued support in fostering entrepreneurship.

The alumni interaction held on 10th January ‘25 at MET Institute of Pharmacy, provided an inspiring session for students. Mr.Jaydeep Kolape (MBA, Manager of Microscopy Center), shared his professional journey. He detailed his work with Johnson & Johnson’s Lifestyle Division, particularly on glucometer research, and emphasized the importance of exploring global opportunities in research.
Joining him were alumni Ms. Deepti Mazumdar (CEO, Halewood Laboratory) and Mr. Analesh Desai (Director, Viva Test Research and Development Pvt. Ltd.) who spoke about entrepreneurship and their experiences in research labs, including formulation development and operational challenges. Ms. Deepti stressed that manufacturing success requires more than pricing strategies, perseverance and consistency play a pivotal role.
The session also included advice on building self-confidence and maintaining resilience to overcome obstacles. A lively Q&A followed, allowing students to engage directly with the speakers, gaining valuable insights into research and entrepreneurial success.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organized a guest lecture for the final year students on ‘‘Career guidance for Higher Education post Diploma in Pharmacy.\" The lecture was conducted by Alumni Ms. Avani Khunt,studying in Ireland, where she is currently undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology at Technological University of Shannon.
MET Launches Alumni US Chapter in San Francisco

Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), recently visited the USA and reconnected with MET alumni in Houston, San Francisco, and Portland. During her visit, she met Dr. Dipti Deshpande in Houston; Dr. Mihir Shah, Mr. Abhin Desai, and Mr. Anuj Bhargav in San Francisco; and Mr. Chaitanya Chandratre St. joseph in Portland. These accomplished alumni, who pursued their B. Pharm. at MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) before obtaining M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from prestigious universities in the USA, expressed their joy in reuniting with their former teacher after many years.
In San Francisco, MET launched the MET Alumni US Chapter, which aims to provide professional and personal support to MET students and alumni residing in the USA. Dr. Mihir Shah, Mr. Abhin Desai, Mr. Anuj Bhargav, and Dr. Abha Doshi held a meeting to officially establish the chapter. The alumni have committed to mentoring and assisting current MET students, fostering a supportive network that bridges their educational and professional journeys.
Guest Lecture on Entrepreneurship and Business Strategies

MET Institute of Diploma Pharmacy organised a guest lecture on 9th January, 2024 for the SY D.Pharm students on “Entrepreneurship and Business Strategies†for the students who have ambitions for business start ups and building a self employed career in the profession of pharmacy. This lecture was conducted by Alumni Mr. Bhavesh Patel who has completed his education in the year 2019. Mr Bhavesh gave the students a detailed explanation on his experience in this profession and his journey to success. This lecture inspired the students and made them confident about their future goals.
Alumni interaction with Mr. Rushabh Khot

On 22nd March 2024, former student Rushabh Khot returned to address the young minds of MET IOP(Degree) about the promising avenues in the field of business analysis. Drawing from his own journey, Mr. Khot shared valuable experiences and insights, inspiring students to pursue
excellence in their chosen path.Reflecting on his time as an intern analyst, he highlighted the significance of practical exposure in sharpening analytical skills and understanding industry dynamics.
He explained how enrolling in various certification programs not only enhanced his knowledge base but also supported in his credibility as a proficient analyst in the competitive job market. He shared narratives of his balancing act, juggling part-time employment alongside the pursuit of a master\'s degree.
The students departed with determination to embark on their journey towards a fulfilling and rewarding career in the dynamic world of business analysis.

Mrs. Dipti Samant, an alumna of The MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), delivered a speech to third-year students on July 15, 2023. Mrs. Samant currently holds significant positions in various pharmaceutical companies, such as Managing Partner of Blossom Pharmaceuticals, Managing Director of Altova Healthcare, and Partner in Keshavlal and Company. During her talk, she shared insights about her personal journey and shed light on the functioning of the Indian Pharma Industry.
The main focus of the interaction was on preparing themselves to be industry-ready. Mrs. Samant acquainted the students with the essential capabilities and skill sets required to excel in the pharmaceutical industry and discussed practical ways to acquire them. She emphasized the importance of networking with professionals in the field and suggested utilizing platforms like LinkedIn, as well as attending webinars, seminars, conferences, and interactive meetings to expand their connections and knowledge base. Mrs. Samant also encouraged the students to stay updated with the latest advancements in the industry by leveraging the benefits of technology.
The session concluded with Mrs. Dipti Samant patiently addressing the students\' inquiries. The entire interaction proved to be highly beneficial for the aspiring minds. In recognition of her continuous contributions to The MET Institute of Pharmacy over the years, Mrs. Dipti was honored with a Trophy presented by Dr. Abha Doshi, Principal of MET IOP (Degree).

The lecture was conducted by MET Alumni Mr. Rohan Dhumatkar, Market Analyst and Competitive Intelligence, Medsphere Corporate on the topic ‘Career guidance after D.Pharm’. Mr. Dhumatkar guided the final year D. Pharm students about numerous career options to explore and have a bright career in the Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Gender Sensitisation Awareness

The Gender sensitisation committee and DLLE committee of MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) organised a program on Gender Sensitisation in observance of ‘International Girl Child Day’ on 22nd October 2022. The guest speakers were honourable Judge Karuna Rajput, Judge at Small Causes Court and Adv. Trupti Patil, Senior DLSA panel advocate along with MET IOP (Degree) Alumni, Ms. Hafsa Khan and Mr. Abid Ahmed, Founder, Global Care Foundation.
Adv. Trupti briefed students about the government’s effort to provide legal service to the poorest through the DLSA and POSCO Act which is about the protection of children against sexual harassment. She helped the students understand the various women\'s rights and how to fight back in case of discrimination. She spoke of the twelve steps to achieve gender equality. Judge Karuna shared her life experiences and explained the need of stopping discrimination from households. She enlightened the students to generalise every job irrespective of gender, thus generating awareness regarding gender equality.
Alumni Interaction promoting Legal Awareness

On the occasion ‘World International Justice day’, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) invited Ms. Reecha Khajuria, Advocate and a part of DLSA, Mr. Abid Kundalam, Founder and Managing Trustee, Global Care Foundation and Advocate Hafsa Khan, MET Alumni to conduct a guest lecture on 23rd July 2022.
The session was aimed at creating awareness about various national and state level organisations that help people from weaker sections to get free legal aid and also about various rights and laws like ‘Right to Education, Child Abuse, and Domestic Violence\'. Adv. Hafsa spoke about her journey as METizen. She also gave a walkthrough to the students about various careers in law after Bachelors in Pharmacy.
The session helped the students and faculty to have a better understanding of the Rights of a Citizen and how one can help society as a law abiding citizen.
