MET Institute of Pharmacy conducted an alumni interaction on 20th August 2022. MET Alumni Mr. Gaurav Rajpurohit, Junior Project Executive, Insignia Learning Pvt. Ltd. was invited to interact with third year students. During the interaction, Mr. Rajpurohit enlightened the students about Insignia Learning Pvt. Ltd.’s mission of bringing world class medical education to the region they operate, from the world\'s leading professional organisations aiming to upgrade and equip the medical fraternity by bringing the most credible practice enhancement tools and evidence based medical education on recent updates. He expressed how his journey as a student at MET Institute of Pharmacy, influenced by MET faculty helped him on the real job field. Mr. Rajpurohit’s interaction inspired the students to look for newer avenues within the pharmaceutical industry.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) organised a virtual guest lecture on 14th January 2022. This lecture was conducted by MET Alumni Mr. Melroy D’SA, Assistant Professor in Pharmacy at Principal K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Mumbai on the topic ‘Post D. Pharm Career Opportunities’.

Mr. Melroy explained to the students about the long-term courses in Pharmacy and various opportunities after Diploma in Pharmacy.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree) had arranged a virtual industrial visit for students of Final Year B. Pharm at Vivatest Research and Development Pvt. Ltd, Vasai (East) on 26th March 2022 via google meet.

With the efforts of Mr. Analesh Desai, Director, Vivatest Research and Development Pvt. Ltd. and alumni of MET IOP all the attendees could see the ‘state of the art’ Pharma Research Centre.

The tour began with the formulation department, wherein a variety of equipment like VibroSifters, Rapid Mixer Granulators, FBD, Tablet Compressing Equipment, Autocoater system and Blister/Alu-Alu packaging unit were seen. This was followed by changing/gowning rooms, the documentation and archival rooms, stability chambers and their importance were emphasized. The analytical department consisted of a specialised room for HPLC, Dissolution Tester with autosampler, Karl Fischer apparatus, UV Spectrophotometer as well as a pH Meter. Mr. Desai concluded by briefing about obtaining funding using reproducible business models and the concept of business and entrepreneurship.

True liberty for a woman comes from the ability to make financial decisions in her life. Mumbai Educational Trust organised a session ‘My Money Masterclass’ on financial literacy for female alumni, staff, students and spouse of male alumni. The session was organised in collaboration with LXME, a Social FinTech - 1st Financial Platform for Women.

Ms. Priti Rathi Gupta, Founder, LXME discussed the importance of investment in the life of a woman and how financial goals can be achieved. Ms. Gupta held a comprehensive dialogue starting from the need for investment, addressed the problems women face while investing, also discussed the various investment avenues available to achieve financial goals.

The session ended with an extensive Q&A round. Ms. Gupta devoted her time in addressing the queries of the participants.

MET IOP (Degree) had arranged a virtual industrial visit to Vivatest Research and Development Pvt. Ltd, Vasai (East), on 23rd January 2021 via Google Meet. The objective was to impart practical knowledge of the setup and working of a pharmaceutical company assisting in formulation and analytical development. The company manufactures tablets, liquid orals and semisolid preparations.

The students were given a tour of the storage, weighing, washing, manufacturing, tablet compression and coating areas. The formation and filling of the blister pack was demonstrated. The students were shown the analytical machines like HPLC and dissolution apparatus equipped with autosampler. The importance and working of stability chambers was critically discussed. The students observed how the company fulfills Schedule M requirements.

The visit concluded with a session addressing the doubts related to pharmaceutics and entrepreneurship. The students gained practical insight via this virtual industrial visit.

MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) recently organised an alumni meet for the batch of 2016 -18. It provided a platform for the alumni to once again come together and relive the moments of their college days. Alumni guided the second year Pharma students by sharing their industry experiences. They also surprised the professors by presenting a compilation of old memories through AVs.

Siddhu Borana, Vice President of Diamond Life Sciences and an Entrepreneur, who is involved in marketing of range of dermatological products, interacted with Diploma in Pharmacy students at MET institute of Pharmacy on 16 Nov 2019 and guided them on various aspects of pharma marketing & discussed the increasing scope of pharma marketing in future. He also explained how the digital platform can be used effectively to reach out to the society & to have a positive impact on Doctors, Patients, and Medical Sales Officers to drive excellent sales for pharma products.

MET Alumni Meet for the Diploma in Pharmacy students, passed out in the year 2017 was organized by the MET Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma) on 23 Feb 2019. Students were very enthusiastic and nostalgic to come back to college and share their experiences. Alumni expressed their gratitude towards their teachers and institute.
