Extending a Warm Welcome to the New Additions to the MET Family!
The inauguration of the Aarohan Launchpad (MMS 2023-25) at MET Institute of Management commenced on 31st Aug 2023 with an engaging session led by Dr. Swati Lodha, Director of MET IOM. Dr. Lodha highlighted the curriculum\'s core emphasis on Reading, Research, and Reflection, fostering a well-rounded development journey for students.
As the event unfolded, Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal, Co-Founder of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He delivered an enlightening talk on \'Life Lessons for Future Leaders,\' sharing his incredible voyage through the challenges he faced on his path to becoming a chartered accountant. With insights into financial success, Mr. Agrawal underscored the significance of cultivating a genuine passion for wealth-building. He delved into the art of distinguishing between deserving and desiring, underlining the importance of aligning aspirations with dedicated efforts. Mr. Agrawal inspired emerging leaders to fearlessly chase audacious dreams, while advocating for self-investment as a fundamental principle for personal growth.
The event also introduced the dedicated faculty members and showcased valuable contributions from esteemed corporate figures who are poised to guide students on their transformative journey.
On Day 1 of Aarohan, MET Institute of Management welcomed Guest of Honour Mr. Gaurav Ghelani, Regional Head - Academic Interface Program, Tata Consultancy Services, Guest of Honour Ms. Sourima Sain, Talent Management - Human Resources, Tata Consultancy Services.
Engaging with the management students, Mr. Ghelani shared his insights and enthusiasm for the MBA program. Drawing from his own impressive background, he emphasized the significance of experiential learning. He delved into the art of envisioning one\'s journey a couple of years ahead, underlining the importance of identifying and defining one\'s purpose. He championed an active commitment to the MBA journey, advocating for a hands-on, practical approach over a purely theoretical one, all while maintaining a professional outlook. Injecting a touch of humor, he playfully proposed that ‘MBA’ could also stand for ‘Maturity in Business Administration’.
Ms. Sain illuminated the importance of taking action in the present rather than postponing it to the future. She shared her guiding principles encapsulated in the three E’s: Explore, Engage, and Experience. Ms. Sain highlighted the significance of active involvement in off-campus competitions, offering a platform to showcase the college\'s prowess on a broader spectrum. Leveraging her insights, she expounded on how failures contribute to a holistic comprehension of professionalism. Furthermore, she advocated for agility in embracing all circumstances as they unfold.
On Day 2 of AAROHAN - LAUNCHPAD 2023, the Chief Guest Ms.Sonal Saxena, MD of Client Engagement VMLY&R India. With a wealth of experience in the realms of advertising and branding, she generously shared her pearls of wisdom with the incoming MMS students.
Ms. Saxena\'s discourse was a treasure trove of insights, spanning both professional and personal development. Her words resonated as she expounded on the mantras for success in the ever-evolving world of marketing and branding. She offered invaluable guidance on identifying opportunities and cultivating the essential skill sets necessary to thrive in these domains, thereby laying a strong foundation for the students\' future endeavours.
MET Institute of Management extended a warm welcome to Mr. Sarvesh Shashi, Founder of Sarva, on the second day of AAROHAN - LAUNCHPAD, for MMS 2023-25 batch.
During his captivating talk on \'A Motivational Session by a Successful Entrepreneur,\' Mr. Sarvesh passionately delved into the profound benefits of embracing yogic wisdom. He eloquently emphasised the unwavering reliability of a disciplined lifestyle and underscored the pivotal role of moderation in every facet of life. Furthermore, he shed light on the paramount importance of self-awareness and the art of exercising restraint.
Mr. Sarvesh introduced the concept of the \'6 P\'s\'—Purpose, Passion, Potential, Productivity, People, and Profit—illustrating their pivotal role in achieving holistic well-being. Throughout his discourse, he sprinkled inspiration in the form of memorable quotes, such as \"Live in the present moment, for each breath is a gift,\" and \"Cherish love as if tomorrow may never come, and if it does, cherish it anew.\"
On the second day of AAROHAN - LAUNCHPAD, for MMS 2023-25 batch, MET Institute of Management extended a warm welcome to Eminent Speaker Ms. Shilpa Desai, Ex-EVP and Head of Marketing and a Ph.D. Research Scholar at IIT Mumbai.
During this engaging session, Ms. Desai placed a strong emphasis on the art of goal-setting and the vital role it plays in shaping one\'s path to success. She underscored the significance of conditioning one\'s mind to align with aspirations, all while humbly acknowledging that knowledge is boundless, cautioning against any claims of knowing everything.
Ms. Desai offered sage advice against rushing into the pursuit of expertise prematurely, instead advocating for a steadfast commitment to daily diligence as the true path to earning leisure time. Above all, she highlighted the transformative power of taking notes as an invaluable tool for learning and personal growth.
On the second day of AAROHAN - LAUNCHPAD, for MMS 2023-25 batch, MET Institute of Management extended a warm welcome to Eminent Speaker Mr. Suman Srivastava, Founder, Marketing Unplugged.
Mr. Suman, delivered an enlightening talk titled \"New Marketing for the New World.\" During his presentation, he shared captivating insights with students, emphasising the power of purpose in attracting talent. He discussed the evolving landscape of trade unions and advocated for greater gender diversity in corporate boardrooms. He also touched upon the transformation from the concept of \"one dollar, one vote\" to \"one person, one vote,\" highlighting the changing dynamics of influence. Furthermore, he discussed the concept of the doughnut economy, shedding light on innovative economic models.
During Day 3 of Aarohan Launchpad, the induction program for the recently welcomed MMS Batch 2023-25, MET Institute of Management, had the honour of hosting Ms. Sonia Dasgupta, MD, JM Financial LTD, as Chief Guest. Her insightful talk, titled \'Leadership from 10,000 Feet Above,\' highlighted the significance of shaping one\'s narrative, taking initiative, assuming responsibility, nurturing passion, and upholding ethical standards, particularly in financial matters.
Ms. Dasgupta\'s key message revolved around the principles of integrity, hard work, and leveraging one\'s influence for positive change. She strongly advocated for humility, continuous learning, and active community involvement, offering valuable guidance to our newly inducted students.
On Day 3 of Aarohan Launchpad, the induction program for the newly inducted MMS Batch 2023-25, Guest of Honour Mr. Balachandran S, Head of Investment Advisory at Trust Group, commenced his session reminiscing his educational journey as a former student at MET Institute of Management.
During his enlightening talk on ‘Corporate Jungle’, Mr. Balachandran shared invaluable insights into his decision to pursue a career in financial services. He emphasised that \'ROE,\' commonly known as \'Return on Equity,\' should also be viewed as \'Return on Effort,\' highlighting the pivotal role of dedicated effort in the pursuit of success. Furthermore, he advised students to consider the impact of GDP on their decision-making processes and emphasised the significance of the concept of progressive overload in personal development.
To help students gain international exposure, MET Institute of Management invited Ms. Helle Priess, Founder and CEO of Doercircle.com on Day 3 of the Induction Program, Aarohan - Launchpad. Ms. Helle delivered an inspirational talk titled \"Experiencing Startup Globally.\"
During her address, she spoke of the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship and urged students to \"Dare, Dream, Do\" as they chart their own paths in life. Ms. Priess emphasised the significance of creativity as a defining human quality that distinguishes us from artificial intelligence. Additionally, she highlighted the value of embracing mistakes and placed strong emphasis on our responses to setbacks. She passionately advocated for the cultivation of a global mindset, promoting curiosity as a driving force for continuous learning and personal development. In a candid sharing of her personal journey from the ‘Corporate World to Entrepreneurship’, Ms. Priess underscored the transformative potential of seeking guidance and support on the entrepreneurial journey.
Distinguished guest, Mr. Saharsh Shah, Vice President of HR & Talent Acquisition at 88 Pictures, led an engaging session titled \"Mastering Execution\" during the Induction Program - Aarohan for the newly inducted MMS Batch of 2023-25 at MET Institute of Management.
During his presentation, Mr. Shah shared invaluable insights derived from his personal experiences, emphasising the pivotal role of decisive execution. He also shed light on the efficiency of ChatGPT in accelerating project timelines. Mr. Shah emphasised the critical importance of transitioning from ideation to execution as the paramount phase for achieving success.

On 26th September 2025, the MET HR Department organized a special health awareness workshop \"Thoda Gyaan, Thodi Muskaan\", designed to guide staff on handling medical emergencies and adopting preventive measures for overall well-being.
The session was conducted by renowned physician Dr. Tushar Shah, who combined practical health tips with lighthearted humor, making learning both insightful and engaging.

Aaroham Session with Ms. Jaya Row

As part of Aarohan Launchpad 2025, MET Institute of Management organized a motivational session for the newly inducted students of MMS 2025-27, conducted by Ms. Jaya Row, Author, Independent Professional Training & Coaching Professional, with over four decades of corporate experience and extensive research in Indian philosophy on 26th September 2025.
In her address, Ms. Row inspired the students to begin their academic journey with focus and clarity. Drawing references from the legacy of the Marathas and Shivaji Maharaj, she highlighted the importance of courage, leadership, and resilience. She encouraged students to read the Bhagavad Gita as a timeless source of motivation and practical wisdom.
Emphasizing discipline and professional etiquette, Ms. Row advised the students to develop the habit of prompt responses to communication, akin to top management practices. She urged them not to dwell on the past or worry excessively about the future but to channel their energy into the present moment.
Through illustrations from the lives of eminent personalities, including tennis players and cricketers, she conveyed the significance of remaining calm under pressure. Her session left the young minds motivated, encouraging them to adopt focus, composure, and self-mastery as guiding principles in their management journey.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a Career Opportunity

MET Institute of Management’s Institute Innovation Council organized a workshop in collaboration with COTO on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a Career Opportunity.â€
The session was led by Ms. Aparna Acharekar, Co-founder of COTO, who engaged students in an interactive discussion on how innovation and entrepreneurial thinking can open up exciting career possibilities. She also emphasized why emotional wellness is essential for success, the stress factors faced by today’s youth, and practical strategies to build resilience and emotional intelligence in their professional journey.
The enthusiastic participation reflected students’ readiness to embrace holistic well-being alongside innovation and entrepreneurship. The workshop added a meaningful dimension to their learning, inspiring them to approach their academic and career paths with creativity, balance, and strength.
Two-day workshop under the AICTE – VAANI

MET Institute of Management, in collaboration with AICTE and Observer Research Foundation (ORF), inaugurated the two-day workshop under the AICTE – VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages) Programme on “Blue Economy 360°: Innovation, Sustainability, and Collaboration in the Indian Ocean†(In Hindi).
The event commenced on August 11, 2025, with the traditional lighting of the lamp, marking the beginning of an insightful dialogue on the multifaceted dimensions of the Blue Economy, centred on innovation, sustainability, and regional collaboration.
In the inaugural address, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director, MET Institute of Management, welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of integrating Hindi into discussions of national significance. She also encouraged attendees to explore student-created posters that showcased research on the Blue Economy.
Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, addressed the gathering with a warm welcome to participants and subject matter experts. He underscored the need to generate inclusive employment, promote innovation, and harness initiatives such as Sagarmala to unlock the vast potential of India’s maritime economy.
During the workshop Cmdr. Dr. Shrikant Kesnur, VSM (Retd), shared an inspiring talk on India’s rich maritime heritage. He called the ocean the “first version of the internet,†connecting civilisations from the Chola Empire to Vasco da Gama. Drawing parallels between the Blue Economy and a modern-day Samudramanthan, he explained how the ocean can yield innovation, sustainability, and global cooperation—but also carries inherent risks. His closing words left a mark: “Samudra Bharat hi Samruddh Bharat hai†— A maritime India is a prosperous India.
Ms. Rupa Naik, Director, World Trade Point Federation, Mumbai, brought urgency to the conversation, revealing that “Every minute, a garbage truck’s worth of waste is dumped into the ocean.†She asked, “Is this the Samudramanthan we aspire to?†Calling for responsible consumption, recycling, and plastic waste reduction, she reminded us: “Hind Mahanadi ki suraksha hamara kartavya hai†— Protecting the Indian Ocean is our duty.
The event featured distinguished speakers who provided valuable insights into India’s evolving maritime landscape.
Mr. Abhay Khare from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) spoke on the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS), emphasizing the need to reduce vessel turnaround time to improve trade efficiency. He also discussed the roles of NSFT and NSOPT in cargo handling and highlighted JNPA’s distinction as India’s first Landlord Port, referencing a real-life case involving the vessel NSE Cilitoro.
Dr. Vijay Khare, Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Savitribai Phule Pune University, delivered a thought-provoking session on the Blue Economy, focusing on economic development, livelihood generation, environmental sustainability, and ecosystem preservation.
Lt. Col. Gaurav Bali (SM Gallantry), Joint Director – Infrastructure, Indian Army, shared insights on innovation in coastal infrastructure. Drawing from his military background, he underscored the strategic significance of India\'s coastlines and the role of technology in strengthening maritime resilience. Quoting, “The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war,†he emphasised the importance of preparedness.
On Day 2, discussions centred on reimagining Indian Ocean governance in light of the escalating climate emergency.
Ms. Aparna Roy, Fellow and Lead – Climate Change & Energy at ORF Kolkata, delivered an insightful address urging participants to rethink their relationship with the Indian Ocean, beginning with the question: “Why Blue?†She stressed that a robust blue economy must be built on economic, environmental, and cultural foundations — supporting coastal livelihoods, preserving biodiversity, and promoting low-carbon, innovation-driven development. Emphasising the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ms. Roy called for integrated action that aligns economic progress with ecological stewardship.
The sessions emphasised the urgent need for sustainable, inclusive, and innovation-led approaches to managing ocean resources, highlighting the role of collaboration, policy, and environmental resilience in shaping the future of the blue economy.
Dr. Asmita Jadhav, Environmentalist and Assistant Professor at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, shed light on the pressing environmental challenges facing India’s marine and coastal ecosystems. She underscored the consequences of replacing natural coastal defenses like mangroves with infrastructure and highlighted threats such as plastic pollution, sea-level rise, and coastal erosion. Advocating for a sustainable blue economy grounded in equity, ecosystem-based planning, and the “polluter pays†principle, Dr. Jadhav introduced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a critical tool for policy and decision-making.
Event featured thought-provoking sessions by Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, Associate Professor, MET IOM, and Dr. Anusha Kesarkar-Gavankar, Senior Research Fellow, Observer Research Foundation, offering deep insights into shaping India’s maritime future.
Dr. Kulkarni shed light on the government’s strategic vision for harnessing the ocean’s economic potential while ensuring environmental stewardship. He emphasised the need for policy alignment, cross-sectoral collaboration, and investment in innovation to transform India into a global leader in the Blue Economy.
Dr. Anusha’s session brought a nuanced perspective on community participation, capacity building, and equitable growth. Highlighting real-world case studies, she stressed that the Blue Economy’s success hinges on balancing ecological preservation with livelihood generation, ensuring that progress benefits all stakeholders.
Together, the sessions reinforced the message that India’s maritime journey must be both ambitious and responsible for driving growth without compromising the health of our oceans.
As part of the two-day AICTE VAANI workshop held on 12th August 2025, on the theme \"Blue Economy 360°: Innovation, Sustainability and Collaboration in the Indian Ocean,\" an engaging activity titled ‘Bharat: Ek Samudri Shakti 2047 – Aapka Drishtikon’ was conducted.
Participants were assigned topics related to various aspects of the Blue Economy and asked to visually represent their ideas on chart paper. The activity encouraged creative thinking and helped participants explore future possibilities of India’s maritime growth. Selected participants also presented their charts, fostering interactive dialogue and collaborative learning.
The workshop concluded with a Valedictory Session, graced by the presence of Mr. Kobbi Shoshani, Consul General of Israel in Mumbai. Mr. Shoshani interacted with the participants, sharing insights on global maritime cooperation and the importance of sustainable development in ocean-related sectors. He also distributed Certificates of Participation to all attendees and appreciated their active involvement.
