MET Institute of Management hosted a memorable Alumni Meet on October 7th, 2023,
with the theme \'Reconnect, Relive, and Rejoice.\' The event kicked off with a lamp
lighting ceremony in the presence Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, Mumbai
Educational Trust, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM, dignitaries, faculty members
and Alumni. The highlight of the event was the 3rd edition of \'MET IOM Alumni
Excellence Awards,\' honoring alumni for their outstanding contributions to the industry.
Winners were quite nostalgic and excited at the same time while receiving the awards
and expressed their immense gratitude to MET for helping them shape their career
paths. It was a heartwarming and entertaining evening, featuring talent showcased by
current MMS students.
Mr. Siddhesh Phadnis, General Manager, Thomas Cook (I) Ltd. (MMS Alumni Batch
2004-06) was felicitated with Global Leader Award 2023. Mr. Akhilesh Bhargava,
Director, AVI Global Plast Private Limited, (MMS Alumni Batch 1995-97) was felicitated
with ChangeMaker Award 2023. Mr. Balachandran S, Head - Investment Advisory,
Trust Group, (MMS Alumni Batch 1997-99) was felicitated with Excellence in Finance &
Economics 2023. Ms. Shreeya Joshi, Business HR Manager, CRISIL, (MMS Alumni
Batch 2012-14) and Mr. Rohan Desai, Human Resource Manager, HDFC Bank, (MMS
Alumni Batch 2012-14) were felicitated with Excellence in Human Resource 2023. Mr.
Divyesh Panchal, Founder, D2P Consultancy, (MMS Alumni Batch 2009-11) and Ms.
Priyanka Asher, General Manager HR, Karza Technologies Pvt Ltd, (MMS Alumni
Batch 2010-12) were felicitated with Emerging Leader Award 2023. Mr. Saurabh Karve,
Senior Manager, Consumer Insights, JioCinema, (MMS Alumni Batch 2012-14), was
felicitated with Alma Mater Contributor Award 2023. Mr. Santosh Bilgi, Head -
Commercial Strategy, Planning and Research, DHL Express, (MMS Alumni Batch 2001-
03) and Ms. Nishita Godambe, Senior Media Consultant, MediaSense, (MMS Alumni
Batch 2008-10), was felicitated with Excellence in Marketing 2023.

This rejuvenating getaway offered the perfect balance of relaxation, adventure, and team bonding, providing a much-needed break from the academic routine.
Surrounded by nature, participants engaged in exciting activities, strengthened connections, and created unforgettable memories. Such initiatives reflect MET’s dedication to fostering a positive, vibrant, and enriching work culture.
Paper Presentation at IIM Bodh Gaya

Dr. Nitin S. Kulkarni, Associate Professor, MET IOM at the Bodhgaya Dialogue on Leveraging India’s Buddhist Heritage for Soft Power, Cultural, Economic, and Security Integration, held at IIM Bodh Gaya on 19th September 2025, presented a paper on Unlocking the Economic Potential of Buddhist Tourism: Regional Partnerships, Cultural Circuits, and Sustainable Growth.
In his paper, Dr. Kulkarni examined India’s position in the global tourism landscape, with particular emphasis on the potential of Buddhist heritage as a driver of sustainable development. He identified key challenges that constrain India’s growth in this sector and proposed the 5-T Model - Tourism, Trade, Technology, Transparency, and Trust - as a holistic framework to address them.
He emphasized that this model can enable stronger regional partnerships, facilitate the creation of vibrant cultural circuits, and promote sustainable growth in the Buddhist neighbourhood with India as the central hub. His presentation underscored how Buddhist tourism, if strategically nurtured, can serve as both an economic catalyst and a vital component of India’s cultural diplomacy.
MET IOM Students Qualify for National Finals of NFLQ 2025

On 14th September 2025, at the Western Zone Regional Round of the National Financial Literacy Quiz (NFLQ) 2025, organized by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in collaboration with SEBI, MET Institute of Management earned a proud achievement with its team securing a place among the top 10 institutions out of 50 participants.
With this success, students Ritika Shinde and Arin Patil from the MMS 2024–26 have advanced to the National Finals, scheduled to be held at the NISM Campus in Patalganga, Navi Mumbai, in November 2025.
This accomplishment stands as a testament to the consistent mentorship of Prof.(Dr.) Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Dr. Manmeet S Barve, Dean – Academics, MET IOM, and Dr. Rohini Andhare Assistant Professor, MET IOM. MET Institute of Management extends its best wishes to the students as they gear up for the finals.
