MET Institute of Management organised the Alumni Meet for its MMS students on Saturday,
17th December 2022 around the theme Reconnect, Relive and Rejoice!
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon.
Trustee, Mumbai Educational Trust, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM, dignitaries, faculty
members and students. The highlight of the event was ‘MET IOM Alumni Excellence Awards’
bestowed upon alumni for their exemplary and outstanding contributions to the industry.
Winners were quite nostalgic and excited at the same time while receiving the awards and
expressed their immense gratitude to MET for helping them shape their career paths.
The MET IOM Alumni meet also featured an awesome entertainment show featuring Mr. Vinay
Mandke, a noted playback singer who entertained the audience not only with famous jingles
sung by him but also with songs from the golden era. The current batch of MMS students also
showcased their talent through solo singing and Rubik’s Cube-solving tricks. Indeed was an
evening full of celebration of achievements, cherishing nostalgic memories and pure
entertainment!
Ms. Sheba Banerjee, Vice President, Grasim Industries Ltd, Aditya Birla Group (MMS Alumni
Batch 1994-96) and Ms. Shraddha Mhatre, Sr. Manager - Talent Development & OD, The Math
Company (MMS Alumni Batch 2014 -16) were felicitated with Excellence in Human Resources.
Mr. Devesh Bhuwad, Engagement Manager - Business Consulting, Ernst & Young LLP (EY),
(Alumni, MMS Batch 2011-13) was felicitated with Excellence in Finance & Economics. Mr.
Sachin Ghode, Application Development Lead, Accenture (Alumni, MMS Batch 2010-12) was
felicitated with Excellence in Information Technology. Mr. Prashant Sheth, Assistant Vice
President - Credit, Citi Corp (Alumni, MMS Batch 2021-14) was felicitated with Alma Mater
Contribution Award. Mr. Prafull Sonawane, National Program Manager - Enterprise Business,
Reliance Jio (Alumni, MMS 2014-16) was felicitated with Excellence in Marketing. Mr.
Prathmesh Parkar, Senior Manager, ECU360 (Product), ECU Worldwide (Alumni, MMS Batch
2011 -13) was felicitated with Excellence in Operations. Mr. Devang Oza, Managing Partner,
Global Acceleration Partners LLP (Alumni, MMS Batch 2003 -05) was felicitated with Change
Maker Award. Ms Shriya Koul, Program Manager, Amazon (Alumni, MMS Batch 2011 -13)
was felicitated with Academic Achiever Award. Mr. Vinay Shivdasani, Director & Practice
Head, Ambit (Alumni, MMS Batch 2010-12) & Mr. Harsh Chotalia, Senior Manager -
Compliance, HDFC Asset Management Co. Ltd. were felicitated with Emerging Leader Award.

This rejuvenating getaway offered the perfect balance of relaxation, adventure, and team bonding, providing a much-needed break from the academic routine.
Surrounded by nature, participants engaged in exciting activities, strengthened connections, and created unforgettable memories. Such initiatives reflect MET’s dedication to fostering a positive, vibrant, and enriching work culture.
Paper Presentation at IIM Bodh Gaya

Dr. Nitin S. Kulkarni, Associate Professor, MET IOM at the Bodhgaya Dialogue on Leveraging India’s Buddhist Heritage for Soft Power, Cultural, Economic, and Security Integration, held at IIM Bodh Gaya on 19th September 2025, presented a paper on Unlocking the Economic Potential of Buddhist Tourism: Regional Partnerships, Cultural Circuits, and Sustainable Growth.
In his paper, Dr. Kulkarni examined India’s position in the global tourism landscape, with particular emphasis on the potential of Buddhist heritage as a driver of sustainable development. He identified key challenges that constrain India’s growth in this sector and proposed the 5-T Model - Tourism, Trade, Technology, Transparency, and Trust - as a holistic framework to address them.
He emphasized that this model can enable stronger regional partnerships, facilitate the creation of vibrant cultural circuits, and promote sustainable growth in the Buddhist neighbourhood with India as the central hub. His presentation underscored how Buddhist tourism, if strategically nurtured, can serve as both an economic catalyst and a vital component of India’s cultural diplomacy.
MET IOM Students Qualify for National Finals of NFLQ 2025

On 14th September 2025, at the Western Zone Regional Round of the National Financial Literacy Quiz (NFLQ) 2025, organized by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in collaboration with SEBI, MET Institute of Management earned a proud achievement with its team securing a place among the top 10 institutions out of 50 participants.
With this success, students Ritika Shinde and Arin Patil from the MMS 2024–26 have advanced to the National Finals, scheduled to be held at the NISM Campus in Patalganga, Navi Mumbai, in November 2025.
This accomplishment stands as a testament to the consistent mentorship of Prof.(Dr.) Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Dr. Manmeet S Barve, Dean – Academics, MET IOM, and Dr. Rohini Andhare Assistant Professor, MET IOM. MET Institute of Management extends its best wishes to the students as they gear up for the finals.
