MET Institute of Management conducted the first hybrid ‘Alumni Meet’ on September 12, 2021. The meet was organized by the Alumni Committee in the presence of Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET, Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM, faculty members, alumni and students. The event started with Dr. Swati Lodha, Director - MET IOM conveying the most valuable message to alumni that each and everyone should develop four specific mindsets of Abundance, Exponentiality, Moonshot and Longevity. Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee - MET, welcomed all the alumni, MET family and current batch students for this first hybrid alumni meet. He appealed to all the alumni to be connected with Alma Mater and collaborate more to bring positive change in the society.
After the inaugural address, a video was played where all the faculty and staff welcomed the alumni for the meet. For the first time, ten different MET IOM Excellence Awards were given to alumni who have brought laurels to their Alma Mater. Few alumni joined offline to receive the award and rest joined online and offered their acceptance speech. Mr. Avinash Rogye (2015 -17) was awarded the ChangeMaker Award 2021, Mr. Amol Hiremath (2010 - 12) received the Excellence in Human Resources 2021, Ms. Joanne D\'souza (2007 - 09) and Mr. Deepak Buswal (2009 - 11) were given the Excellence in Marketing 2021 award. Mr. Uday Mundhe (2010 - 12), Mr. Rajendra Bhalerao (1997 - 99) won Excellence in Operations 2021 and Emerging Leader Award 2021 respectively. Excellence in Information Technology 2021 award was bestowed on Mr. Priyank Parab (2014 - 16), Global Leader Award 2021 by Mr. Kalpak Sarangdhar (2012 - 14) and Academic Achiever Award 2021 was given to Ms. Lavanya Gopalakrishnan (2011 - 13).
MET alumni Mr. Akshay Karnik along with his musician colleagues made the evening mesmerising and soulful with their singing performance. Mr. Sunil Pal, the noted stand up comic put up a mind blowing performance which made the evening more delightful. The alumni meet concluded with a vote of thanks. The meet was an event full of nostalgia as the alumni fondly remembered and shared their college days. Everyone appreciated the efforts by MET IOM in organizing the meet.

Paper Presentation at IIM Bodh Gaya

Dr. Nitin S. Kulkarni, Associate Professor, MET IOM at the Bodhgaya Dialogue on Leveraging India’s Buddhist Heritage for Soft Power, Cultural, Economic, and Security Integration, held at IIM Bodh Gaya on 19th September 2025, presented a paper on Unlocking the Economic Potential of Buddhist Tourism: Regional Partnerships, Cultural Circuits, and Sustainable Growth.
In his paper, Dr. Kulkarni examined India’s position in the global tourism landscape, with particular emphasis on the potential of Buddhist heritage as a driver of sustainable development. He identified key challenges that constrain India’s growth in this sector and proposed the 5-T Model - Tourism, Trade, Technology, Transparency, and Trust - as a holistic framework to address them.
He emphasized that this model can enable stronger regional partnerships, facilitate the creation of vibrant cultural circuits, and promote sustainable growth in the Buddhist neighbourhood with India as the central hub. His presentation underscored how Buddhist tourism, if strategically nurtured, can serve as both an economic catalyst and a vital component of India’s cultural diplomacy.
MET IOM Students Qualify for National Finals of NFLQ 2025

On 14th September 2025, at the Western Zone Regional Round of the National Financial Literacy Quiz (NFLQ) 2025, organized by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in collaboration with SEBI, MET Institute of Management earned a proud achievement with its team securing a place among the top 10 institutions out of 50 participants.
With this success, students Ritika Shinde and Arin Patil from the MMS 2024–26 have advanced to the National Finals, scheduled to be held at the NISM Campus in Patalganga, Navi Mumbai, in November 2025.
This accomplishment stands as a testament to the consistent mentorship of Prof.(Dr.) Swati Lodha, Director, MET IOM, Dr. Manmeet S Barve, Dean – Academics, MET IOM, and Dr. Rohini Andhare Assistant Professor, MET IOM. MET Institute of Management extends its best wishes to the students as they gear up for the finals.
