Under the aegis of the Corporate Readiness Program, MET Institute of Management invited Alumni, MMS Batch 1997-99, Mr. Balachandran S., Head - Investment Advisory, Trust Group to conduct a session on Placement Preparedness on 5th August, 2023 for its MMS Batch 2022-24.

During the session, Mr. Balachandran focused on various aspects of placement readiness, such as Learning Attitude, Communication Skills, Domain Knowledge, Interview & Group Discussion Techniques, Resume Building, Networking Skills, and other relevant topics to enhance students’ employability quotient.

The Alumni Committee of MET Institute of Management organised an \'Alumni Mentoring Session\' for MMS students 2022-24 Batch on 15th April 2023. The Alumni from various batches were invited to brief students on aspects of professional and personal growth. The objective of the session was to partner alumni with current MMS students on similar career paths, interests and goals and to enable alumni to be an essential part of the students’ journey from college to corporate while creating a positive impact in their lives.

The session was held with Alumni as mentors, Ms. Gauri Shenoy (MMS 2015-17), Senior Manager, Publicis Groupe, Ms. Shwetal Kohade (MMS 2015 - 17), Investment Product Specialist, JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Satish Patel (MMS 2016-18), Assistant Manager - Sales Strategy, Chandak Group, Mr. Rohit Sabnis (MMS 2017-19), Assistant Manager, Marsh and McLennan, Ms. Ankita Agarwal (MMS 2017-19), Relationship Manager, Axis Bank, Mr. Abhishek Nayak (MMS 2018-20), Investment Officer, The Hexagon Hedge Fund, Mr. Mihir Gohil (MMS 2019-21), CMBS Analyst Credit Ratings, DBRS Morningstar.

The students were divided into micro-groups of 10-15 students each and received one on one mentoring from the alumni present. The alumni provided students guidance on leveraging their internship opportunities, corporate etiquettes and career planning for personal and professional growth. Students were also exposed to the journey that the young alumni had till date and lessons learnt through it.

MET Institute of Management under the aegis of Centre of Excellence - Finance organised a Corporate Readiness Program for students of MMS 2022-24. Mr. Harsh Chotalia, Trustee Officer, Axis Mutual Fund (Alumni MMS 2008-10) and Mr. Jitendra Attra, CFO and Head of Operations, Zuno General Insurance were invited to conduct a session on ‘Careers in Finance’ on 26th February 2023.

Mr. Chotalia provided information on a wide range of job opportunities in the finance industry during the session. He discussed the significance of personal finance and investing. Students were also given advice on how to succeed in interviews. Mr. Attra, on the other hand, exposed students to the world of startups and entrepreneurship. He stressed the importance of having the right attitude as a critical component of being a successful entrepreneur and professional.

Here’s a glimpse of Students from MET Institute of Management representing MET at the 45th Bombay YMCA State-Level Annual Athletic Meet 2023 held on 18th - 21st January 2023 at Mumbai University Pavilion, Marine Lines.

The student got an opportunity to compete in Long Jump, Shotput and Running Relay against state-level athletes. Indeed, a great experience for the students to stretch their limits.

The Alumni Committee and Institution’s Innovation Council of MET Institute of Management organised ‘Alumni Entrepreneurs Roundtable 2023 - Achieving Problem-Solution Fit & Product-Market Fit’ on 21st January 2023 for the students of MMS 2022-24 Batch. The Roundtable initiative by the Institute was aimed at providing a platform for alumni entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities & challenges faced by entrepreneurs and arrive at solutions through collaborative discussions.

The session was graced by Alumni entrepreneurs, Ms. Sumitra Goenka, Founder & CEO, Triangle Global, Mr. Divyesh Panchal, Founder & CEO, D2P Consultancy, Mr. Shreyas Patil, Director, Polygram Green Pvt Ltd, Mr. Shubham Singh, E-Commerce Manager, Nutrafeel and Mr. Abhishek Jajoo, Founder & CEO, Abhishek Jajoo & Co. During the session, alumni shared their entrepreneurial journey with students and touched upon the importance of being innovators as quintessential for becoming successful that helped students develop entrepreneurial mindsets.

MET Institute of Management organised an Alumni Interaction Session for the newly inducted MMS students on 17th December 2022. The session was graced by MET Alumni Ms. Sheba Banerjee, Head HR – Pulp & Fibre Business, Grasim Industries Ltd, Aditya Birla Group (MMS Batch 1994-96), Mr. Devesh Bhuvad, Engagement Manager - Business Consulting, Ernst & Young LLP (EY) (MMS Batch 2011-13), Mr. Prashant Sheth, Assistant Vice President, Citi Corp (MMS Batch 2012-14) and Ms. Harita Desai, Talent Acquisition Business Partner, Mindshare (MMS Batch 2017-19).

During the Interactive Session, alumni shared their journeys from MET Campus to Corporate. The success mantra echoed was ‘Passion & Perseverance’ in the personal and professional domain of life. From the interaction with distinguished alumni, the students learned the importance of networking and lifelong learning being essential for professional success.

MET Institute of Management conducted a session on the ‘Career Specialisation Roadmap’. Management Students got an opportunity to interact with MMS Alumni who are successful professionals in Finance, HR, Operations and Marketing domains.

This session enlightened the student about career paths in their chosen specialisation. The guest speakers gave a walkthrough on how the students should prepare themselves to reach near to their desired career paths. The session changed students\' mindsets to work toward exploring more of their areas of interest.

MET Institute of Management participated in the 6th Regional meet of Institution\'s Innovation Council (IIC) held on 1st August 2022 at Symbiosis International University, Pune.

During the meet, more than 550 faculty representatives from 250+ Institutions from Western Region (Maharashtra and Goa) participated and exhibited 45+ innovations and 70+ IIC posters. From the state of Maharashtra, more than 25 incubators, angel investors, state agencies, IP firms and ecosystem enablers were part of the round table discussion to strengthen their relationship with educational institutions.

Today, more than 4000 IICs are established in HEIs and are instrumental in creating and sustaining the movement of Innovation and Startup Culture Development in both technical and non-technical institutions across India. It is a proud moment for MET Institute of Management to be actively involved in the movement to create future innovators.

True liberty for a woman comes from the ability to make financial decisions in her life. Mumbai Educational Trust organised a session ‘My Money Masterclass’ on financial literacy for female alumni, staff, students and spouse of male alumni. The session was organised in collaboration with LXME, a Social FinTech - 1st Financial Platform for Women.

Ms. Priti Rathi Gupta, Founder, LXME discussed the importance of investment in the life of a woman and how financial goals can be achieved. Ms. Gupta held a comprehensive dialogue starting from the need for investment, addressed the problems women face while investing, also discussed the various investment avenues available to achieve financial goals.

The session ended with an extensive Q&A round. Ms. Gupta devoted her time in addressing the queries of the participants.

MET Institute of Management has initiated a \'Knowledge series with Alumni\' to share their insights on how to crack Campus Placement. On 9th Oct 2021, the Alumni Committee invited Mr. Prashant Sheth (AVP, Citi), Ms. Deepika Gupta (Data Research Analyst, Morningstar) and Mr. Mihir Gohil (CMBS Analyst-Credit Rating, Morningstar).

Mr. Prashant Sheth shared valuable input on what recruiters expect from the students while they hire for core Finance profiles. He also shared how to prepare for equity research and credit research profile. It was indeed an insightful session on how to perform Fundamental Analysis of any company by evaluating 4 pillars i.e Industry, Business, Financials, and Management.

Ms. Deepika Gupta shared the entire placement process related to the profile of \'Data Research Analyst\' and guided the students on how to prepare for it. Mr. Mihir Gohil explained the entire concept of Securitisation, Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) and US ABS. He shared a detailed experience about his interview process, and how he cleared it.

The preparatory session lasted for around 2.5 hours and at the end, the Alumni cleared many doubts in the Q&A session. More than 130+ students from MMS, PGDM & eMBA (Finance Specialisation) attended the session and they were very happy with the knowledge shared by Alumni.

On 12th February, 2021 at 3:00pm “Arthshakti- Budget dreams 2021” was presented online through Google Meet. A well-known personality in Financial Markets and Public speaker on the matters of Public policy, Economy and Finance Dr. Chandrashekar Tilak addressed MMS students and faculty members.

He discussed the economic survey and budget declared by the Government of India in February 2021. He spoke about the impact of the current budget explaining the government’s disinvestment policy in particularly of the forthcoming IPO of LIC. He shared his knowledge on the Economic Policy of Government highlighting the scope of GDP in the coming years.

MET alumni Priyank Parab, Systems Manager - TCS and Vivek Pange, Senior Research Associate – GfK (India) teamed up on 16^th November, 2019 to motivate, inspire and guide MMS students for TCS placements at MET. They gave valuable insights and key learnings to the students in order to prepare them for GD & PI and to instill confidence for greater success.
