MET Institute of Management launched its maiden ‘Start-up Accelerator’, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell in collaboration with a global accelerator experts - CBA Ventures. The association was announced jointly by Shri. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee, MET, and Mr. Devang Oza, India Head, CBA Ventures, in the presence of Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management, Mr. Thomas Yi, Chairman - Cross Border Associates AG (CBA), Seoul (South Korea), Mr. Manish Oza, Director - CBA AG (Switzerland) and Mr. Dongwook Suh, CEO - CBA Ventures (South Korea).

The Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell at MET aims to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship to inspire, educate, support, and ignite creative thinking through various activities. It also provides incubation and mentoring support to budding entrepreneurs.

The inauguration began with Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management elaborating on how students stand to benefit from the tie-up, followed by an address by Chief Guest, Shri Govindbhai Dholakia, Chairman - Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd., a world renowned diamond exporter from Surat, who shared his personal philosophy and management success secrets which led to creation of a billion-dollar empire in the diamond industry. Adding value to it, Mr. Thomas Yi, Chairman of Cross Border Associates AG (CBA), Seoul - South Korea addressed the students about rapidly growing Indian start-up ecosystem and how this E-Cell initiative would empower MET students with a global perspective, in addition to gaining easy access to the financial support and timely management interventions.

The MET - CBA association, would serve as a global platform for Indian companies looking to expand globally through its global partner CBA Ventures. Working at the grassroots level with Indian start-ups across all business verticals, MET - CBA Ventures would also be identifying companies that have the potential to scale globally and compete globally with their quality business solutions. MET - CBA Start-up Accelerator would probably be the first of its kind professionally run ‘Acceleration Hub’ in the country designed to offer professional support to budding entrepreneurs for early stages so to help them become global companies.

Educational Visit to HDFC Bank – Fort Branch

As part of the Basics of Banking lecture, PGP EMBA students from the MET Asian Management Development Centre (MET AMDC) visited HDFC Bank, Fort Branch. The event was organized by Prof. Nisha Chhabria, former Vice President of HDFC Bank, with the aim of complementing classroom learning through practical exposure to the operations of a leading financial institution.

Students gained valuable insights into customer services, digital banking systems, and financial product offerings. The session also helped them understand various banking departments, aligning with their syllabus and providing a comprehensive overview of Banking as a Service. On 24th August 2025, MET AMDC EMBA students gained valuable real-world exposure by volunteering at Tamasha Factory’s Mic Drop event, hosted at Lord of the Drinks, Worli. The platform offered them first-hand experience of the dynamic pace and challenges of a live entertainment show while contributing to its seamless execution.

Their roles spanned artist coordination, backstage facilitation, audience interaction, and operational support, giving them a holistic view of event and celebrity management. This immersive engagement not only enhanced their practical understanding of event logistics but also reinforced essential managerial skills such as teamwork, adaptability, and professionalism—vital for future leaders in the field.
