Field Visit to Utkarsh Small Finance Bank

At MET Institute of PGDM, students recently had the privilege of visiting Utkarsh Small Finance Bank, gaining valuable insights into its operations in microfinance and general banking. The visit shed light on how the bank bridges the gap between traditional banking and financial inclusion, empowering underserved communities. With 680 branches across India, Utkarsh offers microfinance loans ranging from ?10,000 to ?75,000 for individuals earning ?2 lakhs or less annually, maintaining a remarkable 98% recovery rate.

The students gained insights into the bank\'s group lending model, which promotes financial discipline through mutual accountability, and its diverse loan offerings, including personal, business, and industrial loans. This visit was a valuable learning experience, showcasing Utkarsh\'s pivotal role in fostering economic development through sustainable financial practices.
