The MET Utsav 2021 was inaugurated at the hands of MET Trustee Mr. Pankaj Bhujbal in the presence of all MET Directors, Principals, HODs and students joining online on 22 October 2021. The annual fest saw a plethora of events lined up for all METizens and MRVites.
As we are aware, ‘Ludo’ became the king of games during the pandemic. It\'s fun and entertaining for all age groups, therefore was featured as one of the enlisted Online Gaming Competitions as part of MET Utsav 2021. Gamers from across MET Institutes gathered virtually for a ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ (BGMI) gaming tournament held on day two of the fest. Battleground Mobile India Series is one of the biggest Battle Royale Esports events in the country. The competition drew over MET student gamers in large numbers who battled it out online. Being awarded as one of the best mobile games ‘Call of Duty’ (COD) was included in the MET Utsav 2021 online gaming tournaments too. The participating teams of COD exhibited the attributes such as unity, tactics and focus. These extremely engaging online gaming competitions saw hundreds of MET students contending for the winning titles. The enthusiastic students ensured that the event was a resounding success.
During the week long celebrations, a fun event ‘Antakshari’ was organised for the MET students, faculties and management staff. The MET Utsav 2021 concluded with a ‘Grand Finale’ on 30th October, 2021. For the first time the Cultural Event was organised in a hybrid form (both offline and online). Keeping in view the current scenario of Covid-19, MET Utsav 2021 was themed as ‘All is Well’ to convey the positive behavioural approach to overcome the circumstances everyone is facing. The audience witnessed flawless skilled performances recorded offline and presented online for large audience that joined online for this event. The solo and group dance performances were well choreographed by professionals and performed beautifully by MET students. Right from the MRV school to MET postgraduate students all came together to make the event entertaining and successful, demonstrating a positive outlook towards the situation. MRV student’s band performance along with Navdurga and Corona Warriors themed dance exhibits were the main highlights of the evening that infused so much of optimism in hope in the audience.
The event also witnessed melodious solo singing performances of peppy songs by MET students. Stand-up comedy made the audience laugh out louder. On the other hand, students and staff showed extraordinary creative skills in the field of photography, sketching, sculpture artifacts and illustration by submitting their entries in the ‘Creative Exhibition’; which was displayed in a 3D walk through. Students created a nostalgia for all the alumni by Bollywood Reunion Dance which was shot in college premises.
On this occasion the ‘MET Gaurav Awards’ were given to members of the MET staff & students who had shown the highest level of achievement and excellence at the international or national level whereas ‘MET Ratna Awards’ were felicitated to the sharpest minds of MET who have topped in their respective courses making the MET family feel proud.
