Dry Waste Collection Drive
2024-10-29
DLLE Committee at MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), in collaboration with United Ways Mumbai, organized a successful ‘Dry Waste Collection’ drive from 14th October to 21st October 2024, aimed at promoting sustainability and responsible waste management. The initiative kicked off with an insightful seminar, by consultants of United Ways, discussing the massive waste generation in Mumbai, the types of waste, and proper disposal methods. The seminar emphasized the importance of recycling waste, instead of adding it to overflowing landfills.
Following the seminar, a week-long drive encouraged participants to bring dry waste from their homes or collect it from around the college campus and segregate it in designated bins. The drive highlighted how simple waste segregation can contribute significantly to environmental preservation.
