The BSc Computer Science comprises 22 modules across three stages:
- Stage 4: 8 compulsory modules (15 credits each) – 120 credits.
- Stage 5: 8 compulsory modules (15 credits each) – 120 credits.
- Stage 6: 6 elective modules (15 credits each) – 90 credits, plus a Final Project (30 credits).
- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence: Machine Learning (ML) enables systems to extract insights from data, driving innovations like personalized recommendations, facial recognition, and market predictions. With a BSc in Computer Science (Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence), you can pursue technical roles such as machine learning engineer, solving problems across industries like business, finance, medicine, and creative sectors.
- Data Science: A rapidly growing field within computer science, is transforming industries by enabling large-scale data analysis across sectors like medicine, climate science, and business analytics. Each module includes a mix of assessments. During your study period you will undertake formative assessments, which help you to measure your progress but do not count towards your grade, and summative assessments Summative assessments do count towards the final grade. These include a mid-session coursework submission and an unseen written examination (or final project) at the end of the session. Written examinations are held twice a year. You can defer sitting an exam once (subject to a fee) but you cannot defer the submission of coursework.
