MET Incubation Centre hosted ‘Alumni Entrepreneurship Round Table’, uniting alumni with entrepreneurial experience across MET Institutes and graduating years.

Convened by Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni, Head, MET Incubation Centre, and Dr. Manmeet Barve, Dean, MET Incubation Centre, the session focused on a rich exchange of ideas and insights to strengthen the campus startup and innovation ecosystem.

The collaborative discussion will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic plan, startup roadmap, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the upcoming academic year. A key takeaway from the round table was the proposal to form an Alumni Mentor Pool — aimed at providing structured guidance and mentorship to student-led ventures.

MET extends sincere thanks to all Heads of Institutions (HOIs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and Incubation Faculty SPOCs for their enthusiastic participation and continued support in fostering entrepreneurship.

On March 1st, 2025, MET Institute of Computer Science conducted a Professional Mentorship Alliances Programme, where students interacted with distinguished alumni.

Bhushan Gaonkar shared valuable insights on cracking IT interviews, while Akshay Iyer, a university topper, inspired students with his academic journey. Nidhi Sawant emphasized the importance of a positive mindset, and Harshad Zagade provided essential tips on resume building. The session was highly engaging, offering practical advice and motivation for students to excel in their careers.

This mentorship initiative strengthened alumni connections and provided students with industry-relevant guidance for future success.

The MET Alumni Meet - Canada Chapter held on Saturday, 30th August 2025 in Mississauga, Canada with immense joy and enthusiasm. Embracing New Beginnings in the World of Computing!

Amidst an air of anticipation and excitement, MET Institute of Computer Science welcomed the students of the batch, MCA 2023-25 during the induction program, \'AARAMBH\' held on 24th August 2023.

Chief Guest, Mr. Mandar Kulkarni, Director - Enterprise Application Integration, Tata Consultancy Services, graced the occasion with his insightful presence. Through sharing his remarkable journey, he illuminated the path ahead for the budding IT enthusiasts, offering invaluable guidance and inspiration. The students got introduced to the institute, the coursework and had a great time networking with their batch mates.

As a part of the induction program under the aegis of MET Professional Mentorship Alliances, a session \'Mentorship by Alumni\' was held. Prof. Omprakash Mandge explained the significance of having the right attitude in conjunction with aptitude. He explained the value of having a mentor in one’s journey and shared valuable perspectives on the initiatives undertaken by Professional Mentorship Alliances at MET.

Esteemed MET MCA alumni, including Mr. Suyash Sambhare, Software Architect at Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Naresh Konga, Founder/Partner at Konga InfoTech LLP; Mr. Jamshed Irani, Head of Network & ERP; Mr. Girish Chilkamari, Associate Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services; Ms. Urjita Sawant, Senior Application Security Test Analyst at BNP Paribas ISPL; and Mr. Ryan Nambiar, Systems Development/AEM Developer at Asian Paints, took center stage during this insightful session. Their collective expertise offered aspiring IT professionals a wealth of knowledge drawn from their personal journeys.

Together, these accomplished alumni tackled a multitude of inquiries posed by the students, delving into the domains of IT professions, prevailing trends within the IT industry, the nuances of early entrepreneurship, essential soft skills, and much more.

On 3rd March 2023, MET Institute of Computer Science organised MILAAP 2023 - A reunion to remember for MCA batches 2020-22 & 2019-22.

The reunion featured entertainment shows consisting of Skit, Solo & Group Dance, Fun games & Music which allowed everyone to unwind. The gathering brought immense joy for the students & faculty reconnecting after a long time.

MET Institute of Computer Science organised an interactive session with MET Alumni - Mr. Suyash Sambhare, Senior Consultant Technology Solutions, Reserve Bank Information Technology Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. Sambhare shared his 13 + years of IT Industry working experience with students of MCA. He expressed that every student should concentrate on communication and soft skills, punctuality, time management and advanced technologies. This session guided students to draw up a robust plan for their placement preparations.

MET Institute of Computer Science started ‘Professional Mentorship Alliances’ for the MCA students on 23 April 2022. This offline session helped the students to interact with their mentors who have numerous years of experience in the field of Information Technology.

The session started with Mr. Arihant Godha, Sr Support Engineer, GitLabs. He discussed Open Sources and careers in them. The activity continued with Alumni Mentors interacting with the allotted group of students.

MET ICS expressed gratitude towards Alumni for sharing expertise with Institute’s current students by mentoring and guiding them for growing as successful IT professionals by identifying strengths and weaknesses.

True liberty for a woman comes from the ability to make financial decisions in her life. Mumbai Educational Trust organised a session ‘My Money Masterclass’ on financial literacy for female alumni, staff, students and spouse of male alumni. The session was organised in collaboration with LXME, a Social FinTech - 1st Financial Platform for Women.

Ms. Priti Rathi Gupta, Founder, LXME discussed the importance of investment in the life of a woman and how financial goals can be achieved. Ms. Gupta held a comprehensive dialogue starting from the need for investment, addressed the problems women face while investing, also discussed the various investment avenues available to achieve financial goals.

The session ended with an extensive Q&A round. Ms. Gupta devoted her time in addressing the queries of the participants.

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of MET Institute of Computer Science recently inaugurated their new initiative to provide value addition to the FY and SY MCA students. This initiative by MET ICS aims at strengthening connections between alumni and MCA students. MCA alumni Sunil Patel, Pankaj Khairnar, Akshai V, Madhur Karnik and Rohan Deorukhkar conducted interactive sessions on various topics like how to crack an IT interview, how to survive in IT industry, what IT industry demands, and shared their experiences of working in IT industry. The MCA students got an opportunity to interact with professionals and learn more about the technical and life skills needed at work. They also got an invaluable perspective of the IT industry along with tips and tricks to ace the placement process in upcoming semester.

MET Institute of Computer Science gave a warm welcome to parents and MCA 2018-2021 students who have chosen their career in the field of IT, Analytics, Mobile app development, web development. The insightful induction programme and parents meet witnessed the memorable experiences of Dr. Sunita Mahajan, Ex-scientist and former Principal of MET ICS, on super computer research and Tejas aircraft technology. She addressed the budding IT professionals, and shared her research experiences with them. During the interaction she enlightened them with dos and don’ts as a learner of a professional course. Such interactions with IT stalwart enrich the students with new dimension of profession.
